Yep ! that time of the year again ! and I'm still here!. just listened to this again. and I still remember it better coming out on radio in 1949.I remember going up and walking the North street( main st in our hometown) and hearing it coming out of speakers in front of the stores during Christmas time along with the other Christmas music. great times. we're losing the best of memories. Malls are closing and everything is done online. The children are missing the best years of their lives to the internet. you can't beat "REAL" memories. So do your bit to keep them alive! save a childs memory today! ECF
I was 6 yrs old when Gene came out with that song. That made the Christmas of 49 the best I can remember!. and it still warms my heart to hear it at Christmas time each year.!. some things never grow old especially us!.
It's nice to see Gene Autry! This episode featured an extended tribute to Gene. He also sang "Your Cheatin' Heart" and "Back in the Saddle Again". Thanks for uploading this one!
We had this album as children my brother, sister, and I loved it at Christmas...aww memories I'm 55 now...miss those days...merry Christmas to.all...happy and blessed 2021🎄🎄🎄🎄
I love Ed Sullivan! Ed seems more animated, and healthier, in the black and white episodes. I think the black and white episodes show Ed, and the show, when he was in his prime, although the color ones do have their moments. I also think the black and white ones have some of the best performers.
Yes i understand I want to be an actress when I grow up a Broadway star a movie director a movie producer And a mommy but i rather be a child actress by the time i am 15 years old And I really want to teleport teleport back to the 1940s like the early 1940s when World War II started
@@mckenna.grace_fanpage3286 Personall I would like to time travel to World War 1 on November 11, 1918, whether news came over the wireless telegraph known as the radio to the New York Times headquarters in Times Square to witness the celebration. They are no longer younger then you are since this was back in the 1950's You were just being born back then ! Gene adn mot all those people are no longer with us. Oh that was such a good time back then - i go way back to the 1940's ! So you are still a kid to me ! I remember all these things live.
It was one of his signature songs. Just like you wouldn't go to a Brenda Lee concert and not expect to hear "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree," even if in the middle of July.

Lovely comment. Thanks for sharing! Happy New Year
You are older than I am.
Such a talented gentleman. This song made me cry in happiness and sadness.

Always love seeing the older folk out here on the internet sharing their memories of simpler times!
I was 25
When he cam out with it
Gene Autry is truly an unsung hero of holiday music. Without him, no Rudolph and Frosty, no Up on the Housetop, no Here Comes Santa Claus…
The only one of those songs Autry wrote was Here Comes Santa Claus.
The writer of up on the housetop was from my hometown of Lancaster OH
His voice fits perfectly to this song. Very nice!

What year was this.
@@tinasudesberry8057 1953. The year is always in the description under the video.
What a great song! Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer is one of my favorite Christmas movies.
The memories this brings back!
I remember them, from almost 55+ years ago!
I loved this song
I'd listen to it every Christmas
I love this!
The song will mark its 75th anniversary this year.
Merveilleux. Gene Autry éternel. 💕
GENE AUTRY MADE A HUGE FORTUNE WITH THIS CHRISTMAS SONG -- IT SOLD MILLIONS OF COPIES. HE AND ROY ROGERS WERE ARE FAVORITE COWBOYS.
We wore our 78 RPM record version of this song out during the early 50's ....
Algo especial en la voz de Gene Autrie, 🦌tiene el encanto para esta melodia 😍

Hello Glennia, how are you doing?
I loved gene autry❤❤❤❤
Beautiful.
GENE WAS AMAZING!!
This was wonderful!
An animated Ed -- Hilarious. What simple, fun times. Would today's young ones ever understand?

Thank you!!!!!!!
Cute rendition
He's the original singer of the song.
I see all the " old " people in the audience and realize they are probably younger than me !!! I'm 65 !!!
Yes Tim and iam 78
I'm 14.

Very well-dressed people, too. Unspoken but expected dress code...even at ballgames.
I'd love to see the rest of the clip! By the looks of it, he did other songs.
That's getting me to think of the Disney Sing-Along Songs called "Disney's Very Merry Christmas Songs".
This was very close to that version.
Show 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
"I saw you out there. You weren't singing." (Bang!)
LOL!
This was 69 years ago
Nice
It's "Donder and Blitzen" for "thunder and lightning" in German.
He wrote the song I think. If I'm not mistaken 1949. I was singing along too
The singing cowboy
Why did Gene sing this song on a show aired in September?
It was one of his signature songs. Just like you wouldn't go to a Brenda Lee concert and not expect to hear "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree," even if in the middle of July.
gimme that pistol pardner
September tho?
I'm his relative.
