I had a '68 4 door in Trafalgar blue. A bit special because it had a 1275 midget engine and a 5 speed type 9 Ford gearbox. Wish I still had it but didn't have the space at the time. Now got a '63 Mk1 Mini 😁
My grandpa also had Morris minor car till now and his age over 80 ❤ he is Morris minor lover and I want ask questions could you tell me Top speed of Morris minor ?
My first classic car, a Minor 1000, should be arriving this Friday. She will be residing under cover on my drive for a bit as she needs a little work, and mechanical updating. I say 'she' because I've been told her name is Maude.

beautiful moggy and a year older than my self i am a 1969 model 55 next week ....seen at least 5 minors on the road where i am in north wales great to see them out rather than rusting in a lock up or barn...keep on motoring tina
@@Classiccarstories hi your very welcome had love for these cars all my life obut only had one moggy ... was going to be a progect in the 1980s but lost my job and had to sell her ...hope to get another as fed up with modern junk ..
I was young, it was cute, my girlfriends loved it, Was the favoirite, OK, many cars afterwards, of note the Toyota GT16, this was so blindingly fast it beat a Porche 911 down a country lane. Now I have a Mercedes SL500 in the garage. My Morris Minor gave me more fun. Does anyone want to swap?
The Morris Minor 1000 should really be the Minor 1100 as the engine is 1098cc the same as the early Ford Escort, but would get confused with the Austin 1100 and especially the Morris 1100.
I believe the Minor is a far better car than the VW. I don't like the VW motor mainly changing spark plugs and getting to the starter and the fuel leaks. Also riding in a VW makes me feel sick. The Nissan 120Y or 140Y are a nice swap for the original motor as very similar- ish.. The Nissan Cedric would be closer, Nissan copied Morris sorta.
Nice car, it's great to see it in use, not just stuck in a garage.
Thank you Ian for your comment

Hello , the top speed of a standard Minor 1000 is around 73 mph
Wow nice but can we increase the top speed of minor car by using the same minor engine?
Most people use the mg midget 1275 engine also disc brakes are a good upgrade on the standard drums.

When using the starting handle do not wrap your thumb around the handle. If the engine kicks you could break your thumb..

Please don't try to use the starting handle with your thumb wrapped round it. I have a 59 traveller also in regular use.
Thank you for the advice 😊
I learned to drive in a Morris minor way back in 1964
What do you drive now?
Mm of UK was quite inferior to its contemporary vw and Toyota. That's why company manufacturing it could not compete even within UK.
LMFHO.
If it wasn't for BMC the Jap car industry wouldn't exist.
