I owned a moggie estate wonderful car and its good to see you restoring this classic. I had gone from a gas guzzler Mk3 Zodiac to the morris and couldn't believe the fuel gauge hardly moved ! Best regards Sisaket Thailand.

The fuel economy in them is ridiculously good, I've got around 47mpg out of her in a long run before, it was excellent!

Wow! I had no idea the wings were that bad on Peggy and that they are so rusted through! I have an older twin called Molly - she is a 1966 2 Dr also in Trafalgar blue - still wearing original paint. Lucky to have only a few very minimal rust spots - i.e odd 1 cm spots bubbling in 3 or 4 places but nothing at all like what you have there on Peggy. The front wings on Molly are oddly perfect and still rust free. I do have a few spots as mentioned on the rears and I need a patch underneath on the rear drivers floor. Nothing structural required thankfully and Is driven fairly regularly.
You might remember I had commented on one of your other videos where we briefly discussed the ins and outs of doing a full resto versus doing essential repairs as needed and keeping on the road work. Seeing this video I can see you have made the right decision for sure. Hopefully there are no more nasties lurking underneath the panels when they are removed. Its very clear how much you think of Peggy so it will be money well spent. Wishing you all the best with it and please do keep us updated.

Thanks for watching! Yes she was a 20ft car - looked pretty reasonable from a distance but really going when you got up close! It all definitely needed doing! Watch those little bubbling spots, that's what Peggy started as, you need to catch them so you don't end up doing a big job like this 😂 hope you enioy watching the rest of the progress!

@@passengerseatpodcast Indeed! This has really got me thinking about doing some preventative work on those rust spots for sure! Really enjoy your videos and will be following closely. Keep up the good work!

Nice that someone cares enough to spend money on their car. I'll be watching with interest.

You really do have to care to want to spend the amount of money this might cost 😂😂 but I'm glad you're along for the journey!

She'll be some nice when you get her back. You might have to get a Rolls Royce as a winter beater for daily driver. She'll be too good to put back in winter weather and salty roads. Do they use much salt in Britain in the roads to melt snow and ice? They use a tremendous amount here. All our classic cars are put away for winter. I'll be watching for Peggy's coming out after the restoration.

She really will be very nice! The salt in the winter here is pretty bad yes, but I don't think I'd cope with her away all winter, I'm missing her enough as is! I'd have to take her out in a nice day and make sure she was cleaned up!

Just bought a Moggie, so Looking forward to seeing how Peggy's restoration progresses. The fuel pump loud clicking/knocking is that standard ?

Thank you, hope you enioy 😊 It depends on how long the Minor has been sat - I recorded that clip during lock down when Peggy had been sat for a week - usually it's just 1 or two clicks, and it depends on your fuel pump 😊
