Is there a chance Seki Sensei might consent to demonstrate Nagamaki Techniques? There is actually very little on RUclips featuring this particular skill.
We just finished our second lesson in this 😊👍 We have a very long way to go but we love it so much😊 We also do Asayama Ichiden Ryuha Katana it's also brilliant 👍Master Seki and his instructors are fantastic and Shogo Sans translation brings it all together ❤️ Take care. Stay safe 🙏 John and Kate
I remember training in iaido a long time ago as a teenager, and being reluctant to spend time learning jodo because it didn't involve a blade. However, I now find the jo to be one of my favorite weapons-- even more so than the katana.
My favorite weapons are the ones that are the most utilitarian. A staff I can grab anywhere. Its just a simple machine. You're actual weapon is leverage, just like a lever. Their strength is your strength. Its simple.
Thanks for this lesson... ❤❤ Sensei , could you please teach how to counter a slash cut ( diagonal swing, for example the opponent swing his sword from top right to bottom left ) ? 🙏
Forgive me, but I keep finding myself unable to catch the name of Seki Sensei's assistant that we often see in the videos... He is also quite skilled and I appreciate his willingness to be on the receiving end of Seki Sensei's techniques... I know you have mentioned it, but I keep missing it somehow. For some reason, and no disrespect is intended, I want to refer to him as "Bob-san"... I catch myself sometimes saying "Oh! Poor Bob-san!" when he is taken down while they are doing the kata. I would prefer to be able to refer to him by his own name, so if you would be so kind to share it in a comment, if he allows, that would be wonderful. Thank you! Also, I want to thank you and Seki Sensei for continually educating us on the techniques, history and culture of Asayama Ichiden Ryu.
@@letsasksekisensei - Thank you! I certainly can believe that Tsukada Sensei is so highly ranked, his skill certainly shows when he is working with Seki Sensei. Please convey my appreciation of his skills, as well as those of Seki Sensei. Thank you all so very much for sharing your knowledge with us!
it seems so scary to hold a stick since the stick can guide the sharp blade directly to the fingers ouch! but i guess if the staff had guards you couldn't slide your hands along it..and it'd need guards on both ends..and the middle? which would look kinda strange
How long is a Jō? About 3 shauku, right? I ask myself what Seki Sensei knows about it's "little brother" Hanbo. It's my favorit weapon. He would probably just adept Jō techiques.
It'd be interesting to learn the use of a Katana. Thinking guys went to war, sticking, poking and slicing, they got an education in anatomy. Which I thought of a Samurai who sword broke during battle but survived. He might pay the maker a visit. Just like we hear of device failure in recent wars, where soldiers surely would be angry, not understanding why they have junk to work with. But then consider politics where a manufacturer is an employer a major employer in a certain region, then a clearer picture begins to start. Which some have hangovers. Others are drunk, others are stoned. Then some places have to have a quota of certain people where they just don't care. Think if a bunch of misfires happens with ammunition, a supervisor might said keep it going, where they're making money. Which good boxes of ammo are opened, the bad ammo is forgot about. But, if it's sustained, the supervisor is questioned, which then the employee is blamed.

If another live action tmnt film is ever done again, Sensei should be one of the instructors/fight coordinators.
Definitely, and he should, No, he must play Splinter or do motion capture movements for his Character, or both.
That'd be dope as hell. Seki-sensei definitely would be amazing at the fight coordination.

That was truly impressive. I would have never thought such a short staff could have such a long reach. Sensei makes it look so effortless.
It is always a treat to watch Seki Sensei!
I truly hope it never comes to it but it would be amazing to see seki sensei in real combat. His movements and techniques are so refined and perfect.
My favorite weapons are the ones that are the most utilitarian. A staff I can grab anywhere. Its just a simple machine. You're actual weapon is leverage, just like a lever. Their strength is your strength. Its simple.
Please review Blue Eye Samurai. We would love to hear your thoughts and opinions on the different sword play.
Simply beautiful
we should get some katas where tsukada-san gets to beat up the opponent

Excellent as always!❤
Thank you for another beautiful video!
Watching this video paused and pressing . and , to go frame by frame to see exactly what Sensei is doing.
Excellent video!
I don't often get to see interesting Jo staff kata as Seki Sensei has demonstrated.
@letsasksekisensei can you do a video on the diffrence between katana profiles like a hira zukuri and a SHINOGI-ZUKURI.
Bro is the most fit elder in Japan
Thank you.
👏👏 sugoi
Cool and interesting video
Could we get any views of the Nodachi? Such a long and incredible katana would be fascinating to view from his perspective!
it seems so scary to hold a stick since the stick can guide the sharp blade directly to the fingers ouch! but i guess if the staff had guards you couldn't slide your hands along it..and it'd need guards on both ends..and the middle? which would look kinda strange
I've always thought tha the waist lenght staff was called hanbo and the armpit length, Jo
Can we see some katana katas that involve fighting multiple opponents?
I already have a video filmed about that topic!
I to know between jo staff and hanbo staff
How long is a Jō?
About 3 shauku, right?
I ask myself what Seki Sensei knows about it's "little brother" Hanbo.
It's my favorit weapon.
He would probably just adept Jō techiques.
question: how would a Shunjō martial artist atack against the portuguese "Jogo do pau" martial arts?
I have a question: does Seki-sensei have any experience with Aikido, and if so, what does he think of it?
Do you use the jo to learn all the sword techniques? It'd make sense as otherwise one might run out of training partners, 🤣🤣🤣
😊
is the short shunjo the same as a tanjo?
The short Shunjo is 3.2 Shaku long!
Bro's from Demon Slayer 😂
Cool video. 😎
