I have the same shirt as you 😂
@@Day-dreamer0 beyond yoga??? The best! 😂
@@TheSnugglery i have the same but a br@
Oh wow, that really saved it. I'll keep that in mind for any future projects. I worry so much about it being too big that it ends up too small instead.
At least with too small you can stretch the fibers out a bit and wet the threads stretch it and let it dry

Sometimes it just kinda have bigger gaps between the stitches if it is a longer stitch like a triple crochet so it doesn't really work for me, I tried it once after soaking it in water and letting it hang
@@iriskanawjia207 triple crochet usually leaves a bigger gap between stitches anyway but I understand your point
@@rosethot4194 it just leaves them more big than they already are 😅ik that some people like it but not me tho
Oh wow the sinch actually makes it look a lot cuter than without the elastic

Girl..... you just saved a sweater project that I was ready to scrap. THANK you!! I was so feeling so discouraged, but this idea has me excited about working on that project again!!!!
Awwww that made my day 😁
hope it worked out 🌟
1 yr later, she saved my first sweater that I made for my baby cousin! I should’ve waited for her to be born to get the measurements 😅
Can I just say THANK YOU!!!!! This has actually been so helpful!! ❤
I've been knitting for almost thirty years (jfc I'm old) and seeing the things younger folks knit is SO much fun! This is darling. I love your fix for it too. Nice work!! 💜
its crocheting ( i'm not trying to be mean its just alot of people get this confused and i wanted to clarify)
@@xilly3215 no, she usually crochets, but this is knitted. You can see it in the way the hem of the sleeve rolls. She's used reversed stockinette stitch, stockinette stitch, and maybe garter stitch in places? I'm not sure.
I share that frustration when people get it wrong though, haha! 💜
@catie5939 sorry, i think when she used the crochet hook to fix the sweater i got confused.
@@xilly3215 oh no, it's totally fine! It's so hard to tell the difference sometimes. I had to go back and check to make sure I didn't get it wrong lol, I wasn't 100% sure either! 😂
This is probably the most respectful conversation on the whole of youtubes comments section.
It's a nightmare to work weeks on a sweater and then it doesn't fit. You came up with an amazing solution to save it!
I love the mix of the different colors and textures. It makes it look unique without looking haphazard.
This has the COOLEST combination of knitting patterns i have ever seen. I would love to learn how to do all of them. Great color combo , too.
Me too
Perfect timing! I’m about to fix a pair of super wash merino socks that I just finished, cuz nobody told me that super wash loses its elasticity immediately? 😭aaaaaaa
But now I’m gonna try crocheting some elastic into the ankle cuffs. Wish me luck!
Luck🤗
🍀
I am buying that thread immediately oh my god. That is incredible.
something about the no music and the way you talked made me happy lol
after seeing that video a couple months ago my world changed lol
now i use this thread in any tight fitting (or supposed to be so) garment i make! it really saved my balaclava as i added the thread in the neck so now it fits beautifully and doesn’t make my neck so wide. and it came to the rescue with my crochet top, as it was supposed to fit tight under the boobs but it stretched, so the thread makes it a lot more secure, comfortable and it just feels mor professionally made this way
Great job! What a difference. You definitely saved it. This is why is so great to learn how to do things with your hands. Enjoy it!❤
Somedays you just go through life and bam advice you needed year ago comes along 😀
😂
That's so impressive that you were able to fix it like that! I love the design, too!
You just taught me how to save some of my projects. Thank you!!!!
Ikr 😅 like I have 2 skirts and a pair of shorts that I don’t like wearing because the only solution I could thing to fix them were draw strings 😂 not fun to wear though… ordering some right now because holy crap this will make the weeks I’ve spent actually worth it!
That's a great solution for many things, thank you! I often see patterns I like, but I loathe my bra straps showing. This might open up some of those patterns to me.
Thank you for making this short video. I making my first sweater and might need this at the end. 🎉
That is a gorgeous top and you were so smart with fixing that small mistake
No WAY!!!! I have things to save with this technique.... that's awesome
All of that texture and those colors, oh my goodness. It’s so beautiful.
Is actually genius. Thanks for the idea
I love 💕 the elastic thread. Great job! The elastic thread is my go to for my hubby and son’s socks 🧦 because they have such small ankles! It is magical!
It ended up SUPER cute!! Future reference though: If you're ever in the position and you don't have the plastic thread, that shirt would have made a GREAT gift for a plus-sized friend! Obviously it's your work so it's up to you if that's ever the route you wanna go, but I figured I'd at least make the suggestion!
Tbh the fix did wonders for the piece overall. It's like it was meant to be.
Woooooowww, like a whole new garment!!! Looks fantastic!
Its really cute and i love that you didnt give up on making it work for you
You could also try doing a row of decreases, but what you did worked really well !!! 💖
That's super clever and cute! I love the tone of this video.
Honestly, this looks even better. The slight bunching on the top and bottom really give shape to the piece
That came out so beautiful. 😍😍😍
Love how it cinches in. No box shape. Adorable.
Thanks for posting. I had the same problem for a baby dress I made the top was too big - I got some of that stretchy thread and now it’s even prettier than the model ❤ you saved my project!
Oh my goodness this is genius, I'm so happy it worked, the sweater is so cute! ❤
Looks terrific! Excellent fix!😊
Good save, shows you have a good understanding.
What A GREAT SAVE!!! That turned out awesome n how creative to think of doing the elastic!!! TWO THUMBS UP FROM ME!!
thats CUUUTE omg!!! you’re really inspiring me to get off my ass and learn crochet like ive been meaning to do
great idea to correct a mistake and turn it into an advantage. as if everything was meant to be!!!❤❤❤
Thank you SO much for the tip! I’ve been struggling with the exact same problem.
It looks so much better with the elastic anyway. It's got a cute bubble look.
Absolutely brilliant save!! LOVE it 😁😁😁
I think it looks better than it would have had you done it right and that's kind of amazing.
I actually love the scrunchiness!
Okay, wow! That was an amazing save. What a clever idea. 👏🏼 ❤
GOOD thinking!!!👍🏽 I like those colors and stitches together. I will keep this in mind for my sure-to-come mistakes as I continue to try more crochet and knit projects. Thank you for sharing your wisdom!🥰🥰❤️
Low-key liked the off everything look. Like, a cute tank top underneath, it'd be perfect.
Wow you saved it so well and it looks so good!
Great save! Working some crochet ribbing also works when there's no elastic or when that elastic wears out... 😉
The bottom hem is even cuter this way! Great save!
Also just wanted to say, you are so beautiful!
That’s so clever!! You did a fantastic job
Smart fix! Looks so cute.
That’s awesome! Glad you could fix the sweater :))
Great thinking and execution! Its a lovely swaeter!!
I'll come back to this!!
I used the same yarn I had been working with on the inside of both ends of my fingerless gloves, worked great :3
i think you just saved my life (or at least my project)!!! i made my first ever pair of shorts and while i held it up to myself and tried it on what seemed like 500 times while making it, in the end it is super loose especially after sitting down while wearing them. i'm going to buy some elastic thread and see if i can salvage them because if they were just a little bit tighter they wouldn't fall down so much
Very smart of you...never give up, there is always a solution or better way,.... plus its beautiful !
I'm so glad I found your video!! I'll definitely use this technique for a unbalanced off-shoulder sweater
OMG thank you so much for this, I just had this issue and didn't want to undo it after putting so much work in😊😊😊
I love that - style and colours - chef’s kiss ❤
The nice thing about knitting and crocheting is if tye size is not right you can just unravel and start again.
I think given the pattern it might be better than if the mistake hadn’t happened. It makes some cool runchy billowing in those long stitches. Very cool. Good work
Get save for a beautiful project!!!
This sweater looks suuuuper cute! ❤
That is a brilliant idea. Well done! 😊
Brilliantly done!!! 🙏🏾😍🫶🏾
It came out beautifully!
Thanks for the idea! This is a great save😊
Looks great, and I love the creativity of taking something you'd taken lots of time over, and turning it into something that looks like it was designed to be that way in the first place.
It turned out so cute too!!! I think the way the elastic cinches it makes it look so unique and cute!
Wow Jonna! The final selection for the academic vest are absolutely stunning 🤩 ❤❤!! Gorgeous!
You did it! You saved it
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!
You really did a wonderful rescue job✨ it looks incredible 🤩
Adorable & great solution.
That’s amazing I would have never thought of that you’re so creative
Would have never ever thought of that.. I probably would have left it or taken it apart to make a little smaller but giiiirl… you made that look so amazing on you
It came out cute and likely BETTER.
Another tip! If you planned on adding ribbing anywyas, doing decreasing ribbing shrinks it down to half!
Amazing problem solving!!!!
Great idea! What an inspuration!
Beautiful!
In all my years I have learned sometimes mistakes turn out better than our original idea.😊🤪
💯
Nice well done...lovely
Love love 💕 your Amina sweater Kim!! And oh wow your chunky cardigan is so much fun and so pretty! ❤️ 💕 🤗
Wait, that’s so smart! I have this problem all the time with projects and usually just give up the second it starts going wrong, I’ll totally have to use this hack!
What a fantastic fix!! That was brilliant! Bravo, bravo.
What a great save!!!
Nicely done!! I thought no way it’s too big gotta start over but you did it! 👏🏼
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! I just knitted a ribbed edge for my sweater and it turned out way too big, gotta try this
That came out so good! Love it
I had very little faith but you definitely pulled it off !!!
Wow that looks super cute!!
Wow...that looks really intended!
Wow! TY for sharing that!
I absolutely love this!! 😍😍😍 ty for sharing!
This is a great idea!!! I never would have thought of it on my own. Thank you for sharing!
I am highly impressed!!!! ❤❤❤❤ this is wonderful and looks great!!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Brilliant fix!!
I would have added that thread with also the yarn you are using and do decrease stiches so it will not be so noticeable
Smart! And it looks really cute
