Hey everybody, What are you thinking of the new format of shorter videos and less food? Also, I am going to be in the Manila area for a bit longer and I love Carinderia food. What are some of your favourite Carinderia's in the Manila area that you would like to see featured?
I can’t speak for everyone, but I like it better. Reason 1, it showcases a place or two instead of many. This allows us to be better intrigued with the place and not just be interested in what you have to say about the food. Reason 2, it leaves the audience wanting for more. It leaves us (I believe) waiting for your next video because we get this feeling that a short video is too quick, so we’re wanting to see more. Good new format. I think it will not only help you more, but it will also keep us standing by for more. You’re definitely not losing audience that way.
@Mhike177, Thank you so much for the feedback. This channel does not exist without all of you and I had this conversation and same feedback from other viewers before making the switch. I am very happy to see that people are pleased with the new format (not a single negative comment about it yet). ❤️ If there are things in particular that you would like to see more or less of, let me know and I will do my absolute best to incorporate everybody's ideas into future videos

Yeah, the caldereta recipe in most parts of the Calabarzon region, like here in the province of Laguna, has peanut butter. It gives a good nutty taste and creaminess to the caldereta.

Hope you're prepared for the winter, Fatima. Stay Safe🥶
@@PureDetour winter time it’s sickening 6 month’s shovelling, scraping and bundled up in order to warm yourself. And also it feels like extreme cold always like -30 to -40 because of windchill when going out and even at home. My friend and I are planning to visit Philippines and will eat all our fave Filipino delicious foods. Your make me jealous 😃
I lived in Canada for almost 7 years. I know all to weel about the winters. Well not -40 but dealt with -20 enough to know I hate it.😂
Keep in touch, if you make it to the Philippines while I am still here I will take you and your friend to some of my favourite places. 😁
Hmm.. Peanut flavor is usually in like Kari Kari
@kevinnashskitchen3517, yes exactly. That is what I was saying in the video.
@@PureDetour maybe they took some extra meat from the Kari Kari pot and added it to the caldereta? Should be more liver taste
To be fair here, I have eaten caldereta multiple times and have never noticed an overwhelming live flavour either., Not saying it is not there but I haven't noticed it. I usually get a strong stewed beef flavour and then the strong tomato based sauce flavour. tell me where to get the livery flavoured one?😁
@@PureDetour liver spread .. Not sure if they all use it but it's normal.. They do use coconut milk and peanut butter to make a version that is creamy. But not in Manila area or Luzon normally .
I think most Filipino are put off on tomato sauce as we know it and think it needs to be sweetened or the acidity taken out.
Not a fan of the purple nasty but everything else is delicious, at least where I have had it 😊
purple nasty? The papaitan?
@@PureDetour baggaoon 😉
@scottp3287, have to be very careful of the Bagoong😂
👑✨👍
Thank you, Stephen❤️
"sweet mother of god" 😉
Glad you liked that😂
Pinapaitan is like a comfort food for us ilocanos the northern part of luzon and it is really very delicious and it boost your stamina if you know what i really mean😊😊😊🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 but i must advice you not to watch how it is being prepared the whole authentidity of cooking process of how ilocano prepare it
With some of the things I have consumed around the world, I don't think anything will surprise me anymore. Bring on the poop😂
@@PureDetour you already ate it
I'd be dropping the tomatoes too.
😂 Finally someone that agrees with me!
That's a restaurant
shhhh
My tummy aches.
😂Sorry about that
❤❤❤🇵🇭🇵🇭🇶🇦🇶🇦🇶🇦Yummyy
Hi Grace, are you in Bahrain?
now you know why rice is life here in the ph 🇵🇭🇵🇭🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yes indeed
Where's RED HORSE? 😵
Red Horse would have made that perfect
Thats not taquitis it was eggroll or lumpia. 😊
Nope, they were taquitos. I can assure you of this. Their menu even calls them that, it is not something I made up for the video. I have eaten tons of lumpia, eggrolls and taquitos so I think I would know the difference. In fairness, none of three are that much different
Maaannn you're literally a filipino Hahaha
😂Thank you my friend!❤️
Be watchful on your cholesterol and sugar. Food looks good but beware.
Thank you for your concern❤️
Hey i always watching your videos but i noticed your food is oily..take care...
Thank you my friend. Videos are often geared to what I "think" people would want to see. It is also why I tend to eat a lot of fruit and salads when I am not filming. I am always open to suggestions if you have something in particular you would like to see featured
RJ's is another good eating place in Mandaluyong.
Their Caldereta is a Killer and The Fried Chicken is Probably The Best from a "Carinderia" anywhere in Manila.
I cannot argue with this at all. The Papaitan may have been the best one I have had so far also. Thanks so much, Leo
@@PureDetour OK. I think I need to go there and try their Papaitan.
Very nice video by the way.
Thank you so much my friend.❤️ If you do go and try the papitan let me know what you think. I am sure you have more experience with it than I do.
Also, if you are a fan of carinderia's and want to appear in a video let me know. I pay for everything😁
@@PureDetour Wow! I would take that offer. I will start researching for some very good Carinderias to be featured in your channel. There are some really good ones around the Pasig, Marikina, Mandaluyong and Q.C areas.
I will research for some that you haven't been to but serves really delicious Carinderia food.
I know of this one in Pasig. I need to research first so I will know if it is fit to be showcased in your channel.
Continue your food journey Sir Geof.
We are all here waiting for your next Gastronomic Adventure.
@leomarlonestrada5954, that sounds awesome. I am in Mandaluyong so Pasig is very close. As I am sure you have witnessed, I am not adverse to any food......Except for tomatoes😂
You find one you enjoy, I will bring cameras and pay for everything. 😁
