Well done James. I have the watch but never synced it to my phone before round. Thanks for the info. I’ll connect with it at today’s round. Play well and have fun.
lol bro we’re literally the same player haha. Except you seem more consistent than me. Also 100+ rounds for me last year and also a 9.7 cap currently. Played metro a couple days ago and also shot an 85 haha play Monarch a lot too. I was a 26 cap this time last year and have been grinding like you. Keep it up! Also, I use Arccos for stats and the Grint right now.
I bought the S70 and contemplating getting the CT10 sensors.... but honestly you've scared me from getting those lol. I had the Shot scope package with the new watch and their online feature to track was outstanding! 10x's better data and usability then the Garmin App. However, i wanted a watch that did more than just golf and made the jump. I think for sensor tracking and cost Shot scope blows everyone out of the water. Customer service is about as good as Garmin or Arrcoss so that could improve everywhere. I got a good couple years of detailed tracking in with Shot scope so feel the Garmin app does enough for my needs at the moment. Appreciate you running through and talking about your experience with the set up.
Yes, if you already have access to some of the detailed info from other apps, it's not as critical to have them on the Garmin app. I will say I just grabbed some Arccos sensors so I'll be tracking my game within the Garmin watch while also tracking it with Arccos. It'll be more work but I figure the data will be helpful to have.
Good review. It's so lacking compared to Arccos. I absolutely love the watch and the ability to quickly see front/middle/back yardages, but the actual stroke gained data is trash. Nobody wants to be compared to golfers of the same handicap unless they're not trying to improve. The ability to compare against any golfer skill level is what sets Arccos apart.
100% agree on the strokes gained data. Unfortunately I found Arccos a little too intrusive to use (trying to manage both my Garmin and the Arccos app was too much work). If Garmin and Arccos partnered up, would be my dream scenario.
I use mine withe the Arccos Link Pro and club sensors and literally don't touch my phone during my round@@golfwithjames . At the end of the round I quickly compare Garmin watch data w/ scorecard and Arccos (which takes less than 5 minutes) and then get all the data! I l keep track of putt lengths on my scorecard just in case but the Link Pro is pretty accurate now.
Just got Venu 3 only for golfing. I have two questions, how to input penalty strokes, like water hazzard or out of bounds? And how to transfer SCV file to The Grint?
Great review, thanks. 2 questions for you. For those of us with old eyes, can you use the phone app on course to see a larger version of the map? Im afraid the watch map will be too small for me to see. And, can you keep score for multiple players on the watch?
Hi Ronnie, 1) yes I believe you can pinch in on the app but when you're actively playing a round with your watch, it can cause the app to get a little buggy. 2) as far as I'm aware, you can't keep score for multiple players.
you mentioned that don't need the ct10 sensors as long as you set up your watch correctly. Would you mind sharing your settings? New fenix owner here, and Corica park is my home course!
I love Corica! Yes, correct, you don't need the sensors, although it's helpful for your putts (which would only require one sensor). Add the clubs from your bag into the app first. Then when you start your next round, start the golf app and on the settings turn on "Club Prompt". Then after every swing it will ask you which club you hit. Hope that helps!
Hey I have the garmin epix 2 and use the app but it never asks to me to select the putter after my putter shots like it does the other clubs how can I fix this
I believe with putter it asks for your total score and figures out your putts based on the number of shots it detects. Sometimes it won't catch a chip, so you'll need to edit the number of putts on your watch and then add the chip into the hole post-round in the Garmin Golf app.
I have 136 rounds on my garmin and it says "not enough data" in regards to putting stats. I'm baffled. I always enter my number of putts and it defaults to 2 anyway (if you forgot) so how can it say it doesn't have enough data on the performance stats? My scorecards show my putts per hole AND for the round. Any ideas? Are you using a CT10 on your putter?
Daniel, you probably need a CT10 on your putter at least. I've had a mixed experience with my CT10s but for some reason the one on my putter is the one that hasn't malfunctioned/died so it's kept track of my putts. Since the watch doesn't ask you to document the location of the flag, Garmin likely estimates your putt distances based on your first putt and when you start walking off the green.

Awesome, enjoy and glad the video was helpful. Go low!

Dang dude 100 rounds within a year? It was 100 in 2 years for me. You're on another level of grind 🤛

How do you find arccos vs garmin

How do I add club distances manually.
I’ve gone to my bag and tried to exit it there but there is no option for me to do it…
If you touch the green on the watch while playing a hole it will allow you to change the pin position. At least it works this way on my Vivoactive 5.

Nice 79 on that card
so if your golf gps watch is a s62 or s70 which can show slope will you be able to see it on the phone app?

@@golfwithjames Thanks. That's gotta be it if you're using one and getting stats.
How does it know where the ball goes?
Every time you swing, the shot will register if you are using a Garmin watch.
which garmin watch you use?
I personally use the Garmin Epix Gen 2 (non-Pro). Love the watch and I've done a long-term review on my channel.
Do you have to pay a monthly fee for that?
There are features you can pay for but the elements I show in my video are free.
What watch model do you use?
I personally use the Garmin Epix Gen 2! I love the watch and have a long term review of it up on my channel.
