Both Avery & Watauga County seem to get the most snow of anywhere in North Carolina from my first hand experience... Love the areas around Boone, Banner Elk, Beech, etc... in the Winter. Although that wind on those peaks can be brutal that time of year!

That was a fun week for WNC!!! Remember , this is WNC. We get this amount of snow in the entire winter. It was crazy . And this was wet snow, so it took down a lot of tree and branches., at least In Asheville . In Boone we got this fluff.

I mean,Boone is up at the top of the list of towns that has the most extreme winter weather in all of NC. This was a great storm, and wasn't a heavy, wet snow (which was a nice relief). Definitely had around 18 just a hour from the foot of Boone. Definitely not the first time it has snowed like hell there either.

umm yeah snow doesn't typically accumulate on deciduous trees as there's noting to really "catch" it, as it's just the bare tree.

for every 1C rise in global average temperature, the atmosphere holds 7% more moisture. Most moisture leads to larger rain, snow and hail events. For up to date videos on events taking places worldwide, see the YT channel Understanding Climate Change, which compiles video footage from around the world showing extreme events currently taking place. Human caused abrupt climate change is here now.
Happy to provide names and resources so everyone can get up to speed as to our true state of affairs. If you don't believe in human caused climate change, that's likely because you've let others do your thinking for you. Most do. It's hard work to gain an understanding of the various disciplines and how they interact. Truth is hard to face. So, many choose to believe climate change is not happening or that, if it is, it isn't humans' fault. That's denial, identified as one of five stages of grief by Dr. Elizabeth Kubler Ross, from her interviews of dying patients. We face an existential threat - the end of life for most humans in the (geologically) near term unless we change paths. The grieving process is difficult. All who have lost loved ones understand. This is something we would do best to give each other a little latitude on. Recognize not everyone is at the same level of understanding, and that they will react each in their own way, in their own time. Kubler Ross's other stages include anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.

Because "Global Warming" is cyclical & it stopped in 2016. Since 2016 the temp has been steadily declining... NOT WARMING.

Nowadays, they call it climate change....the narrative is still the same but they changed the terminology to slightly change things because many people know global warming was a hoax. Now climate change is being caused not by me or you but by the government/people behind the scenes who are in support of geo-engineering. Do your research before you call someone a moron.

Here's a brief clip (there are many such available) showing one scientist, Stefan Rahmstorf, German oceanographer, physicist and climatologist explaining there is no debate. I read this weather as... the oceans are extremely warm, including the Arctic Ocean. The Arctic has record warmth, it is warming quickly in recent years. Warm air goes north in the ocean areas (Atlantic & Pacific) and the air has to return somewhere. It returns cold over the continents (Eurasia, North America) & we get cold weather then. Our coldest extremes (here in the northern US) are not what they used to be, but it's a surprise to me that we get as much cold as we do, given how extremely warm the Arctic north is & has been, how obviously far (to smart people) global warming / climate change / whatever name you please / has advanced to date.
