My dog and I are in the midst of his long good-bye; I celebrate and appreciate each meal he can finish, each smile of recognition, and each successful trip down the stairs.
I just turned 71 on Monday and I celebrate another year and I am healthy and strong! I can still workout everyday for two hours doing cardio and weights that’s what I truly appreciate 🙏🤗
I turn 49 on Tuesday and my mindset this last year is to prioritise my health, well-being and spiritual walk. Happy 71st Bday! Your comment has reminded me to remain consistent with these things. Blessings to you and Birthday Joy for Monday 🙏🏽🤍
I'm 6yrs older than you. You're mindset will continue to grasp the big small wins because ALL of our body/brain systems are changing. These big small events become monumental in dealing with day to day life. Have a fantabulous weekend 🙌🏽
Your video today is also a good reminder that who you surround yourself with matters- it matters a lot. As a younger person, friends often come from cohorts made by institutions, like church or school or teams… as we get older- especially as the groups we’re in reduce in size- we become more selective. People who are negative, constantly seem to be in upheaval and do not see their own role in it, and people who have unhealthy habits… we realize that rubs off on us. Your friends and your text thread, and how that reverberates in your life, are a prime example of how that works, in a positive way.
This hits hard. Once turned past the age of the 20s, the body decided to give me a reality check and I had issues left and right. Every time I get ill, I always say never take any of what you normally do easily for granted. These become harder and harder as we age. Sleeping well, even the motion of just getting up, getting out of bed, doing your hair, washroom business, everything. I'm so grateful for all of it.
I wish (often) that my boss, just once, said “Good job” to me. I work for a tiny (staff wise) non profit out of NYC and do so much for so little pay, and I only want to hear her say good job, just once. I think I have to start saying it to myself. ❤️
It’s so funny you mention your friend’s daughter. My kids have been saying that kind of stuff too. I have to remind them at their age we had student loans and we were living paycheck to paycheck. We tell them they are much farther ahead than we were at their age. I think it’s a whole generation feeling this way.
I think that's friends daughter is a exaggerating or something. I'm 28 and no I don't think I should be making a million, but my parents had a house at my age and I'm still not making 50k even though I have worked 6 years now at the same company doing sales & marketing. I also live in Minneapolis where rent is high (much lower than other cities but still). No one my age can afford to live alone. People in their 30s still have to have roommates and "starter homes" are now a thing of the past. Around here, you'd be lucky to find a home for under $400k. Homes around here are 2-3 bedrooms, built in the 40s or 50s but because they have a Minneapolis zip code are all over 400-500k. It's unattainable. So while I don't think older generations can't relate-they certainly had their own problems in their 20s....millennials and Gen Z will likely never be able to afford homes. Wages have not adjusted for inflation in many sectors.
What you have said in the video really resonated with me! I'm 22 but a few days ago I was chatting with my friend actually about crafting (specifically making rubber stamps). I said I stopped making them 5 yrs ago because I felt like I could never make high-quality stamps and be happy with them. I also felt that once I finished making a stamp, I stamp it once and put it away, never use it again, so I felt like I was making something useless and started to not enjoy making stamps anymore. Recently I got back into it, and was actually really happy. My friend and I concluded that it is important for anything in life to enjoy the process and worry less about the end result! I feel like I have being adopting that concept more and more and have being feeling more happy in general.
My little wins are getting to bed on time, having great discussions while washing dishes with my family, sitting quietly with my cat, making time to read and not working past 5pm as much as possible.😂 Celebrate life in general. ❤
My most recent little win was me spending an hour each evening this week cleaning something around my apartment. Now I’m sitting here in my lovely clean apartment totally being lazy and relaxing this weekend guilt free. Your friend, Matsuzaki’s jewelry is so nice!
Going through the car wash with you was insanely relaxing. My win is just trying to always see the best even when I’m struggling. So glad you’re watching “The Bear”🐻🐻 Love that show❣️❣️
This is the best change I made a month ago. I have had to retrain my brain to celebrate the wins regardless of their size. It felt as if when I became a mom I felt so frustrated all of the time because I did not have the energy to do all of the “things”. And I realized that if all I did was play with my kid and fold laundry that day, then that is a win. It has completely changed my attitude about life. If go to sleep without doing the dishes, I say “well at least I got to rest today, there is always tomorrow. Good for you.” Shifting my perspective has made life much more enjoyable.
Hi Michele I’m going to remember you saying this on a daily basis because you are right we need to begin to be a little nicer to ourselves and celebrate the little wins we get on a daily basis ❤
28, recently graduated after going back to school and I was feeling a little behind. It was a great reminder to celebrate the small wins and to also celebrate how far I've come! Thank you!
I love your heartfelt sharing about celebrating the small wins. It really brought me tears. As a mom with a kid who has special needs, sometimes others or even myself is questioning myself - whether if I am doing enough? I should work harder. But if I look inside my heart, I know I try so hard. Yes, there could be things that can always be better, but I need to look at all the small steps that I have taken and to celebrate those moments of strengths. Thank you for sharing your thought! I really like this kind of sharing by you. ❤
When we are young we take ourselves way too seriously, the things we worried about are so meaningless…now in my older years I’m kinder to myself, I don’t care what people think of me and I celebrate the hugs I get from my grandchildren…that I’m here another day to experience that love.
Thank you for the talk, Michele. I guess not all of us are here only for the luxury hauls, although it`s nice to even see them on screen sometimes)) But, being so personal and `human` in this day and age.. you never know when you`ll strike someone`s chord and make their day)) I appreciate you, always 🙏🫀
"Celebrate Your Wins" and be kinder to oneself! Watching this video will remind me to do this every single day, followed by gratitude and appreciation of all that we have! I've mentioned it before and I will say it again that you are such a motivational speaker and I LOVE when you do videos like this and I hope you will expand on not beating oneself on the daily! Mahalo for what you do, Michele!
I'm only a few minutes deep but, Michele, as a long long time viewer there is something so relaxing about watching your gentle nature go about doing simple things like open PR boxes so gratefully snd graciously or make soup in your beautiful pumpkin pot. I just wanted to say thank you and tell you I think you're wonderful 🩵
Michele! You are so insightful and thought provoking. As I am going into my later 60's I ohhh so appreciate and understand your talk. It's just now that I have left my job that I can have the breath to really embrace how I spend my time and not judge but like you are saying...live in the moment and acknowledge the small moments of wins. And for that matter to put in to perspective the not so great days and off moments. I think as we get older we can really feel this more clearly. And I'm so grateful to be able to. As much as I know you from this platform - knowing a bit about your challenges and hardships through all your lovely heartfelt talks...I bond with you even more!
I’m in the midst of custody battle and it’s been going on for 4 years +. I’m celebrating each day when I can smile and laugh with my daughter on the smallest thing.
Celebrate ALL the wins, be it big or small - Thank you for reminding us on this. As usual I look forward to your videos and this particular one really resonates with me. ❤ you Michele. You don't know how much of you sharing your thoughts means to me and I'm sure everyone here feels the same. And I love Chamomile too ❣
I so needed this today, I appreciate you. I have been in a dark space but you lifted me up. A lot of work to do but this certainly helped as I am very critical on myself. Thank you 😊
Michelle, aside all the goodies you received and that I love your videos, the chat you have about enjoying the small things in life is right on point. So real and, so true. Thank you for it and for being so humble and honest. I’m sure that I’m not the only one that appreciates you. Blessings your way ❤
Hi Michele :) I love your videos and your style. Your content is a nice escape from the daily grind. As someone who’s had anxiety and depression most of their life and still battles with these things, the little wins mean so much. As you said, just getting out of bed or making it to where you want to go, can be huge on rough days. Thanks for spreading this great message :)
Wow Michele! I loved this vlog so much!❤ I have actually been thinking about this same thing! We should all celebrate our wins, no matter the size. Life is stressful enough! Thanks for this!❤❤😊
Yes, good to be reminded of cheering ourselves for little wins and taking a deep breath afterwards , just letting it permeate our inner self.....seeing the good in our lives does affect our moods... instead of focusing on life's little stumbles 🌟
Great to see all your PR stuff! Omg I love the calendar that Loewe gave you I wonder if they have it available for purchase. And the jewelry by the Japanese company is beautiful especially the ring & earrings. And thank you for sharing that message at the end. It’s so true we do have to embrace all wins small and big. Have a great weekend!! 😊❤️
Love this content. A bit of everything. I think that's called an Eternal Calendar that you received. I am very hard on myself about so many things. Here's my win.. it may seem ridiculous to some and unsavory to others but I have stopped making my bed perfectly every morning. I always pull up the sheet and blankets but I leave off the comforter and shams. It's SO wonderful to be able to simply pull down the blankets and sheet and climb in without having to take off the , 5 shams and pillows and fold down the comforter. It's a huge win for me because it was ingrained in me to NEVER leave the house without making my bed! Go me!! 🤗
Im with u on this celebration of small things. Well. My therapist is with us lol. Recently she has been talking to me about growth mindset and celebrating small things. I started a small journal where every day i write a few things that r wins/accomplishments. Some days r good. Others i am reaching for small things like showing up to work on time. Or that i “continued” a project vs finished it. One place that is hard for me is that while being present is good i am also goal oriented and if i dont set goals for the future 5 years goes by and nothing has changed where i wanted it to. Such a “balance” which is a word i detest cuz its pretty much impossible. Just a thought for u since u also have a journal problem like i do 😂. Put one of those to work as an accomplishments list! Thanks for talking about this.
Thank you for taking us thru the car wash...OMG I haven't done that in *years*! And it had changing lights..I honestly think you should consider that a win. My win for the day is watering my plants. I have a cactus thumb- any succulent thrives with me and other plants, sigh...i think they shudder when I pick them, they know. I was given a planted magnolia last year, and I tried to do what the instructions said, it was dying. SO i water it every day and its thriving - so, its always my win of the morning as I get to see how beautiful Maggie May is doing. ( doesn't everyone name their plants? ) Thank you Michele for a delightful vlog and you have a great day ☺
I have a random small win. I’ve recently started hrt, after a lot of hawing and hooing and today is the first day that I actually feel a bit like my younger self. I’m truly thankful for giving in to this getting older thing, but I’m even more thankful that I’m on the path to feeling younger and healthier! 😂❤️
I thought you were in a hail storm i actually went oh my god, then i realised it was the car wash 😂😂😂 my alarma are all on mains electricity so never have to think about batteries xxx
I’m 44 now and only just now making the type of income I was hoping to make after I got out of college. I still don’t own my house (I rent my home from my parents who bought it as an investment). I resent so much that I can’t yet afford a home if my own and since Im unmarried with no children, I feel like it’s hard to relate to others around me sometimes. I realized I’ve lost a lot of opportunities for joy in life being sad and thinking about what I “need to do” or “what’s next”. Now that I’m getting closer to retirement age it makes me kind of sad that I’ve spent so much time in survival mode and not living in the moment.
I understand those thoughts. It's good that you recognize it though as maybe it will help you be present and appreciate all the things (and people) you have in your life. xo
It's been mostly down for me and my health recently. But last week, i found out that im getting my operation for my knee. I haven't been able to walk since October . So within 2 weeks, im getting my operation, and then it will take another 2 weeks of rehabilitation. Yay, im so happy! Finally, i can see the end of this. So since i got the call about my op, i bought a book about how to lear to make investments on the stock market. I have a chronic disease, ME, and i can't "do do" a lot, but to have my stocks as a hobby works great. And i have to recommend the brand Fanka they have really great leggings for training such good quality. Thank you for your chat. i loved it ❤
NYC 90's out of College from the West Coast I wound up at BG/ personal shopping as Betty Halbreich's assistant earning hardly anything but I loved it and made it work! I appreciate your content and maybe passed each other at Barney's :)
I don't recommend driving to the fire station but to contact their fire prevention bureau or check on line first some fire departments won't install or replace batteries in smoke detectors but I'm in California and Nevada may do things differently.
I always tell my adult children to speak to themselves like they would a friend. We wouldn't tell our friends they are less than or losers, why do we talk to ourselves like that? I'm guilty of it too but we really do need to give ourselves grace and be kind to ourselves. And yes celebrate the small wins. 😊
I agree 100% society pushes us jumping 10 steps at a time to be successful, but I just want 1 step at a time on my own pace and maybe I don't want the extra steps!!! definitely something I learned in my 30s lol
Hi there Michele, I loved all parts of this vlog, your thoughts, the car wash , tha amazing PR haul. For me it was a win watching it. That's a vlog to celebrate! P.S. Enjoy the amazing Shiseido PR and please comment on the products if you use them. I'm a huge fan of Shiseido and would love your honest opinion.
It would make more sense to have those smoke detectors removed from the "hard to reach" places and put somewhere else more practical to change batteries. Or update them. As long as they are on the level that they need to be, why not have them more accessible and you can check them as needed. (models are recalled and you need to check the serial numbers) And you are in control of these necessary devices instead of finding and pleading with people to help you when their schedules permit. Be safe and in control.
They make sealed smoke detectors that are good for 10 years! You should be able to get them from any hardware store. Source: my day job is a facilities manager ☺
Smoke detectors and I have a love/hate relationship: love that they’re there to keep us safe, HATE when the batteries run out. But I believe they make “ten-year” battery-free ones now! Worth checking with your contractors to see if you can install those. Such a game-changer!
I just lost 4 lbs. I hoped got more after really working hard lol , but hey it’s a win! 🎉such good advise. We are truly harder on ourselves when watching all the videos of successful people.
My big win is that I'm able to wake up every morning. Every night I go to bed thinking will I wake up and be there for my 3 girls. They've been through so much with my divorce and their dad not recognizing them as part of his life the way they would like. They only have me. And I want to raise them the way I wanted to be raised. It's more about being there for them. Once your parents are gone, it feels like the "safety net" is gone.
Thank you for taking me to the car wash! I live in the bushveld (safari country), and there’s no car wash 😂❤ I completely agree with you about celebrating big AND small wins, and to not live according to society’s illusion of comparison.
Today's win was that I cleaned out my legging drawer! Sent 2 bags of long unused (but like new) pairs to my local GoodWill. So nice to have the drawer filled with just what I actually wear.
Try dry brining your chicken breasts for min 45 mins before putting them in the oven! They stay juicy even after microwave reheating. Lowering the temp should also help not to overcook, in 30 mins at 370-380+fan setting internal temp should reach ~170. Always check with temp probe of course.
Just install lower fire alarms. Take out the batteries in the higher alarms and don't use the high alarms anymore. Also if you do have a fire, the alarms will go off sooner...
My win for the day was picking up Starbucks for my daughter and I, then I picked her up and went to choose fabric to have my bedroom chair reupholstered. Now I'm doing laundry. Such a lazy day.
24:28 funniest sentence this week: ..also I’m looking like I’m taking a mugshot, but that’s OK, I’m sitting in my closet.. 😂😂😂 Show that to someone who doesn’t follow M and watch the reaction unfolding
It wasn't social media. I was like this 20 years ago. Look. I will not have your resources--I'll never have a porsche or a birkin. But we should be friends anyway.
Chicken Breast tip: after you've put the breast in the tray with the seasoning, add 0.5 - 1 cup of WATER - creates a steam bath for the bottom and middle so it stays MOIST, but the top still browns! Delish xoxo love from Melbourne!
I am 10 years older than you and so you can say i have lived. We always tend to compare ourselves to people who have more than us. Yes there will always be people who have more than us, achieve more but at the same time there are many people who have less than us. When i think that way, i am always grateful for what I have or for what I don't have. Life is a balance. You can't have everything. I tell my nephews and nieces to follow their passion, their goals and really enjoy what they do because if they like what they do, the financial rewards will come. As I get older, it is important to live for the moment, in the moment. So many things i thought were important to me when i was younger, now they are no longer important. Health, inner happiness and peace are what i strive for in my daily life....
Im 24 and sometimes i felt left behind by allot of my friends who’ve traveled around the world … meanwhile im still stuck here paying off my debts … but i guess i could celebrate my win today and that is i manage to handle the company social media on time and that is to post a story and a static post via ig even tho it is on a Saturday… 😂
Im almost double ur age and feel the exact same way when it comes to some people ur age. In what i do right now people out of college r starting at 3-4xs what i made when i started and dont have much debt other than maybe student loans. Im often shocked at how some younger associates are traveling around the world at a time in their lives when i was only going on vacation w my parents still cuz its the only option i had due to my income and student loans. Keep ur head up. Paying down ur debts is smart. And ur friends who maybe have no debt because their parents paid for their education….they may not b as appreciative as u r. U should feel great that u r doing what u need to do. When u can take those trips u will appreciate them more. Im sure u r doing great!!!
When I was Head of HR for a bank on Wall Street in the aughts, a young man we'd hired from a good business school complained that his high 6 figure bonus wasn't enough. His reason? He was embarrassed in front of his friends because he wasn't making $1million like all of them. That culture is part of why I left NYC & came back to Toronto.
I loved this discussion you had with us because my daughter just graduated college and my youngest daughter will graduate will Dec from UNLV. They both have talked about social media and the younger generation doing so well and how will they ever get there with this economy. I said enjoy being young and not to worry so much . Thank you Michele.❤
The trap for all of us, I think, is comparing ourselves to anyone else. I really believe, from observation, that every single person gets their measure of ups and downs. I try to remember to be grateful for how fortunate I have always been and that does help cure any tendency to want what anyone else has. I have decided I would not roll the dice again, I got a good deal. That said, I think there is a fairly well respected statistic that it takes a household income of $75K (maybe with inflation it is higher now, maybe $80K) to be comfortable in America.
My dog and I are in the midst of his long good-bye; I celebrate and appreciate each meal he can finish, each smile of recognition, and each successful trip down the stairs.
I’m so glad you are celebrating the time and food is such a basic source of joy. I love dogs so much and my heart is w you
What a beautiful tribute❤
Just so so well put. I have 3 goldens, I have my old girl whom I cherish……you put this so well and I want to thank you, lovely. ❤
Great video. I think I’m going to try to clean my counter after dinner! 🤦♀️
Prayers to you Karla 🙏🏽

You’re so right Michele, I’m so hard & judgemental on myself. Oh dear i will keep your words in mind. Highly appreciate your great content! ❤
Thoroughly enjoyed this vlog. It was like talking to a close friend about things that I too ponder about. Beautiful video

Yes we need to celebrate even small things rather than focusing on negativities and I need to remind myself to do so. Have a wonderful weekend ❤
Yes, we must celebrate all the WINS big and small ❤ thanks Michele love this vlog.
You mesmerized me with the car wash😂 And the personal talk was my favorite part. Really good PR today.
Thanks for this!❤❤😊
Not sure what I enjoyed more ... the psychedelic car wash - wow! ... or the wonderful and really helpful life thoughts.
Yes, good to be reminded of cheering ourselves for little wins and taking a deep breath afterwards , just letting it permeate our inner self.....seeing the good in our lives does affect our moods... instead of focusing on life's little stumbles 🌟
Well said!
Yes!!! Celebrate the everyday wins! I love this ❤.
Great PR haul as always! WA, Benefit, Florasis, and RMS really hooked you up! Those jewelry pieces are gorgeous
Good morning Michele, those jewelry pieces from your friend Takashi are gorgeous ❤❤
Love this reminder to be kind to myself. ❤
Go me!! 🤗
Go you!!
Wonderful idea!
I always think of that saying “ comparison is the thief of joy “ ❤️💗
i love these PJ's too, i have the same blue, pink and a floral one.
( doesn't everyone name their plants? ) Thank you Michele for a delightful vlog and you have a great day ☺
Ha I love this! And Maggie May…💛
Thank you so much for this Michele, it was just the message I needed to hear.
I have a random small win. I’ve recently started hrt, after a lot of hawing and hooing and today is the first day that I actually feel a bit like my younger self. I’m truly thankful for giving in to this getting older thing, but I’m even more thankful that I’m on the path to feeling younger and healthier! 😂❤️
Agree small victories are the best
Thank you for your chat. i loved it ❤
That Loewe box is stunning ❤ I am a sucker for great marketing. They could just send the box with tissue paper and I would be happy 😂
NYC 90's out of College from the West Coast I wound up at BG/ personal shopping as Betty Halbreich's assistant earning hardly anything but I loved it and made it work! I appreciate your content and maybe passed each other at Barney's :)
Those earrings are fun and gorgeous. They’re a perfect juxtaposition with the chambray shirt.
Michelle, I've had those JCrew pajamas for years in several colors and love them! So glad you enjoy them, too
I don't recommend driving to the fire station but to contact their fire prevention bureau or check on line first some fire departments won't install or replace batteries in smoke detectors but I'm in California and Nevada may do things differently.
Oh my you run your Porsche through an automated car wash?😮 I gasped lol. Your friends jewelry is lovely! Always a joy!
You might check out local hardware shop's or handman's in the area that have the equipment you can rent or use their services. Have a lovely day. 🍀🍀
Thank you so much, Michele! I signed up for a 28-day yoga challenge but was not able to follow through. But I did it today and I shall celebrate it! 🎉
Wonderful!
Thank you for the advice. I needed to hear it.
Si true Michele thank you for your content.
Your videos are a win for me 😉💚
They make sealed smoke detectors that are good for 10 years!
And, as I think about this more, counting and appreciating the little wins are definitely the habits to cultivate.
Sometimes, you just need to give yourself a little grace ❤
Do you bring your skincare and sunscreen down your neck and chest?
Hey Michele 💜💜💖
Just install lower fire alarms. Take out the batteries in the higher alarms and don't use the high alarms anymore. Also if you do have a fire, the alarms will go off sooner...
My big win for the day…house is clean 🎉
That's a great feeling!!
My win for the day was picking up Starbucks for my daughter and I, then I picked her up and went to choose fabric to have my bedroom chair reupholstered. Now I'm doing laundry. Such a lazy day.
24:28 funniest sentence this week:
..also I’m looking like I’m taking a mugshot, but that’s OK, I’m sitting in my closet..
😂😂😂
Show that to someone who doesn’t follow M and watch the reaction unfolding
I pulled up to a gas pump earlier today, & it wasn't working. You made me laugh when you talked about non-functional gas pumps.
Very interesting video😊.
@@tarasz6288 thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
Cheers to you!!
I think you are shade 6 in pat from what I can remember
I have to say - after age 50, everyday that I have a window of feeling pain free and healthy, I feel like a kid and want to sing to the wind
Great content 🫶🏻
