It's great but a hack is usually something to make a thing easier or better for people. Most people don't have saws and scrap wood and bits of trim to do this!
This girl has so much faith in us being able to do something similar that she calls it a hack. Meanwhile I have a piece of frameless mirror just leaning against my wall at an angle. If it falls over it will shatter. And I'm OK with that.

@theflippedpiece This turned out AaaaaMAZING!!! Love all your projects!! Come to NC USA, I'm at the Beach, bring your bestie and help me redo my house!!! OMGOOOSH you're fantastic at flipping furniture!!
I hate these videos that are like "look at my DIY hack"...except I have thousands of dollars worth of scraps laying around and you probably don't. Looks lovely, but let's not pretend this is a simple DIY or hack. It is neither.
I'm not hating on this, but it's not a unique idea. My grandfather did this in the 50's to all the mirrors in their home. He also made frames for my grandmother's paintings
The MDF, Paints, stains decorative wood balls look expensive, Even if you had the tools, this is definitely not a save money hack. Not even counting your time to buy supplies and working on the mirror! I'd love to know what were the total hours to complete with shopping, set up, drying time, plus the cost of all the material. Gorgeous results if you want something custom.

Personally I don't like the artificially distressed look, But I absolutely LOVE what you did to frame the mirror. Let me just quickly like this video in the hopes that I'll find it again in case I ever want to make a fancy frame for something myself... (Is it just me or can you not save Shorts in Playlists??)

Can you make a video explaining what MDF is good for (and not good for)? I often assume plywood is the only thing available for projects like this. Thanks!! ❤
I'm not sure I'd call this a hack. This is cabinet making, making a cabinet frame around a mirror which has been done for centuries. Give yourself credit for the mad skills you have!! 🙂
Silicone only when gluing mirror. If that was some kind of "liquid nail" or construction adhesive it is going to eat thru the backing of the mirror and leave odd looking cloudy, coppery, blotchy, no longer mirror spots everywhere. Google it.
It would be really interesting how long you worked on the mirror- from buying to finishing and how much does it cost- starting with the mirror, to wood, colours and all! Can you tell us, please? Maybe you can write it at the End in your next videos. I think its an important part from a "Hack", because then we know how pricey it is! Btw- Your mirror looks stunning 👍🏻

i wouldn't call that an ikea hack just because you bought the mirror at ikea. and its not even a hack. you just made a custom frame stand for a mirror.
It’s not really a hack, you just completely handcrafted a beautiful mirror and happened to get the glass from IKEA😂🙌🏻
Its like people forget the definition of hack 😂
I just commented that same thing. Not quite a hack but still came out nice.

The color isn't to my taste but other than that the mirror turned out beautiful! :)
Love the color but it would look incredible if it was black or silver ❤
Imagine in like a super bright color to all like a pop

It could use a tad more bronze so it would look expensive-old, not cheap-old.
