I feel that if you go to the food markets, you will always find the true personality of the people, nothing superficial, it's the people in their original form. As a born and bred Melburnian, places I take my international friends are; (outside city limits) Healesville Sanctuary, The Dandenong Ranges, The Great Ocean Road, Daylesford. Within central city; Lume Digital Art Gallery, St Kilda, Brunswick Street, Melbourne Laneways for quirky stores, great coffee and artisan creations. Agree that Vic Market, Botanic Gardens are worthwhile. Melbourne is a foodie paradise; Southbank and Degraves St are my go to locations to eat. But, visitors must be aware that it’s pronounced Mel/bun, with equal stress on both syllables 😊
