thanks for this. there's some interesting stuff on yt from 07eins I think it is (also maybe some stuff from darkside developments) for those dealing with the head.
It's about using some seats for the injectors to prevent head cracking from the metal hardening that the injectors cause and also adding a bridge that holds the injectors properly vertical preventing future leaks due to the stock mounting forcing the injector to lean on the clamp side (leaks on the other side of the injector).
I don't know how common the problem is but Festa from vwt4forum I think has done it.

I want to ask, I'm from Indonesia, I have a VW T5 TDI2.5 with the engine code AXE, what I want to ask is what is the difference between the AXE and AXD engine codes, physically or what? Thank you in advance

@@diyaherfan4225 the AXD and AXE are physically the same (both cylinder head and block) but have different power output (AXD 130bhp, AXE 174bhp) thanks to a different turbo and fuel/boost map.
I believe the AXE has a slightly stronger clutch & flywheel

Is there any way of testing this without taking the head off?

      Unfortunately not

@@DavesDiscoveriesChannel Forgive my ignorance but I just assumed that checking one of the relevant oil supply holes in the head would indicate if the valve is working or not. The hole should be full, if it were empty then the valve is stuck open?

@@michaelbirchall2247 I guess you could remove your rocker shaft and cam shaft then check.

@@DavesDiscoveriesChannel That's what I'm thinking, I'm due to do a cam change at some point this year, it's a little worn. I suppose I should take the head off anyway to inspect the bores too. But once the head is off I might as well rebuild that too. But while I've got the head off I might as well rebuild the block... It's never ending!!

@@michaelbirchall2247 why do you think you’ve got oil supply issues?
