    John Lennon's WALLS & BRIDGES is my go to.
    POB is a Masterpiece with Imagine close behind.
    Walls and Bridges is right up there. #9 DREAM is John at his Best. What a Voice. Perfect for Rock n Roll.

    I got a real kick out of listening to this. I was 18 when this came out and I don't remember it cuz I probably had a few too many drinks or I just haven't heard it at all. But thank you for putting this up I really enjoyed listening to it and I still miss John so much.

    WALLS AND BRIDGES was/is Dr. Winston’s last solid album…

    • @waynej2608
      @waynej2608 Год назад +5

      I'd have to agree, for the most part. It's a solid album and one I still listen too, regularly. I do, however think that he had some decent songs on Double Fantasy. Yoko's offerings, notwithstanding. It sucks that we didn't get any further music from John, clearly. I really love Nobody Told Me, off of Milk and Honey. Even though it wasn't fully produced yet, it showed that he still had it, he still could rock.

      @wayne I agree with your basic assessments of DF and MAH: I too love what he did on those last lp’s, whether via the ballads OR the rockers with an ‘80’s edge and feel; that said, for me, WAB gets the edge of my preference for its timeless gravity and beautifully-melancholic emotional tone…

    A relaxed interview at a good time in his life.
    Oh, if only Alma hadn't died, and if only he hadn't walked into that gallery 2 weeks later, if only he'd stayed with May Pang and if only someone hadn't paid Chapman to shoot him ...
    Since wars are virtual money fountains for certain people, talking about peace is obviously very dangerous in this world.

    Hmmmm, I wonder what John would think of all the outakes etc released since the 95' anthology right up to the impending Revolver remix.

      All of the Beatles underestimated the lasting importance of their work and its permanent impact on human culture. The rough sketches of songs on anthology, though seemingly of little value to the Beatles, are as important as the rough drafts of poetry by Yeats, Eliot, or Shakespeare for that matter. McCartney is the only one who understood this, maybe too well.

    Lennon ruined Nilsson's voice on the Pussycats LP. I remember buying the Rock n Roll LP from my local newsagent for £2.99 in 1979. I was to be honest disappointed as especially with Sweet Little Sixteen and Do You Wanna Dance were like listening to disco music.
