So what, they attacked him in the comments for saying these commanders are bad. He is right, the are almost useless, not even worth putting in the other 99
Hey sometimes I want to be a snob coming to the LGS with a weird commander so they say what the heck is this person even playing. And then it turns out it was just my Nekusar deck with a bad grixis commander.
Bro is trying to help people build interesting decks. Why would that need yelled at holy crap. Just enjoy the content guys. Thanks for the follow up video with more ideas
This was a really enjoyable listen, subbed. Love the concept of the bad commander restriction, makes you get creative and ultimately yields a really expressive deck
Had a really good chuckle watching this. A lot of these seem like decks that you'd build if you were going to do a commander pod where everyone gave their deck to someone else in the pod to play. Could actually be fun.
Hey man, I appreciate you for your time and effort in general for making videos and breathing a breath of fresh air into the community; let alone the effort you put into making content for legendaries like these. Thank you brother 🤘
I actually got excited when I saw Alexi from a previous video! I love energy counters, but been struggling finding a commander I wanted to use them with. Alexi is perfect cause I can target my own board! Having ways to shuffle my graveyard back into my deck means I can play a resource management game in magic that nobody is gonna expect!
Nebuchadnezzar actually can force an opponent to discard lands, so force them to discard any basics they have in hand, so it can neuter more than just Relentless Rats type decks, especially in a mono color heavy game.
Absolutely, for a moment I tought that he would mention Mana Breach, because when the engine start going you will not cast that much spells and just use your commander ability and the Cursed Scroll.
Always enjoy your videos man! Here’s an idea to maybe make these bad commanders more viable (forgive me if you’ve already done this). What if you came up with play-guides for groups, such as having to use commanders with less than 100 decks on EDHrec, etc. Sort of similar to how Pauper has a restriction to make otherwise mid cards more useful. I’m sure you can come up with more unique guides/rules! Would love to see where you take it. Keep up the great work. ✨
I haven't watched the full video because I was super curious about the Rashida scalebane again I'm still crafting the deck and going through the motions of crafting it However, for an update, I've been playing around with dies triggers and making it into a maskwood nexus deck and include other cards that get something from specific creature types dying or that allow me to sacrifice my creatures like Springjack pasture I haven't had too much time on my hand to get fine tuning but I'm super excited about it and will be sure to share a link to it when I eventually get it to how I like Now time to watch the whole video and not skip to the one I liked the most lol
So a couple cards that work well for the last two commanders is “intruder alarm,” because if you’re constantly bouncing creatures back to hand (assuming players are recasting them) you can untap your creatures as well. Also you can use unwinding clock/mycosynth lattice as well. I understand this works better for the blue commander more than the dimir cause he can only be used on your turn but if you have cheap creatures that force discard allowing you to use him multiple times a turn… worth a mention. Also with the sister of autumn you can run the 3 drop white enchantment making all cards white… giving her more value
The nebuchadnezzar idea is how I run my scarab god deck. When they discard each turn I can reanimate their big threats or return them to hand to try again
For the first deck you could use urbog (which you’ll probably have anyway) and the land that says pay 3 return to the battlefield from grave and that will allow you to still play additional lands
Akuta could go scorched earth wincon with ashnod's altar. play akuta, tap all of your lands, sac akuta, sac swamp, sac akuta, until you get 2 colorless for each akuta sac, and then exsanguinate, torment of hailfire, etc.
The Daughter of Autumn deck would be the perfect place for a Celestial Dawn! That's the 1WW enchantment that makes all your lands plains, makes all your nonland permanents white and lets you spend W as many of any color. This would let Daughter protect all the squirrel tokens Druid's Call is making. You could use a Painter's Servant as well, but this isn't a deck worth using a $40 card in. Plus you can find Celestial Dawn with any enchantment search.
For akuta, there are lands that make tokens when sacrificed. Combining those with a crucible of worlds and terrain generator is what I do in my braids deck. Adding cabal coffers to make these token lands swamps could give you extra value Daughter of autumn. Idk, I guess you could play it in a generic blink list as a protection spell. If you blink it the damage goes away so it wouldn't die but overall it's just not a good commander Veldrane of Sengir, you could put painters servant to combine with yavimaya to make everything green and everything forests, idk just to be funny.
Throwing this out there for others Akuta includes Gerrard hourglass pendant And any Leaved the graveyard effects. Tormod, soul enervation, is sweet tech.
An idea could be to build a deck with an idea, like a Canadian Highlander, and pretend that commander is just one of the 99. All of this if the commander doesn't have a wacky downside of course.
For Alexi id also add Crystal shard and Erratic Portal if you don’t want to bounce her each turn or don’t have vial. Also good artifacts offensively funny enough
Eldrazi monument is perfect in the Arashi deck! Indestructible to keep your enrage creatures alive. Flying on all your guys. The sacrifice part of eldrazi monument could work great with those tokens some of your creatures are making. Very cool idea to revisit an underwhelming commander in that way!
Are indestructible creatures still technically dealt damage but just ignore death upon enough damage? If so, can you just try to make daughter of autumn indestructible without having to worry about toughness.
I wish Ishi Ishi was more playable. I would love to build a deck with Ishi as the commander, just so i can say "Ishi Ishi, Akki Crackshot" 20 times a game.
Once again, staff of titania is just a decent card, even in non-green decks. Sure sword of tha animist, bitterthorn and sword of l heart and home are generally better but it has its own advantages too.
It does work, but the cost saving is negligible. With training grounds out, you can pay (1)(B) to bounce two X creatures. You would need multiple training grounds type effects to really cash in on large X reduction
It does, you declare what X is and then Training Grounds reduces that by 2. Because it always costs a blue too you could pay '0' into X and bounce 2 things for a Blue and 2 cards.

43:53 brought back so many memories seeing this, this card was insane in the 90's, seems tame now
I've been planning on a Nebuchadnezzar deck for a few months now!
Would you mind linking the decklist? Would love to see it!
When I get it together I'll try to remember 😅
@@slygore Thank you thank you!
Plargg with 98 mountains and Cursed Scroll. We got there boyz!

My friend made an Autumn Willow deck with only Homelands and Fallen Empire Cards. Stalker Hag has forestwalk.

These commanders are horrible but I love it regardless. Thanks for putting in the time on this!

I wanna build Rashida as well, it seems like a neat idea

Alexi would love a Containment Construct as well!
Quicksilver amulet with alexi ? Great video as always.

Akuta has such amazing art I’ve always wanted to try a deck around it
48:22 Remembrance. I use Remembrance as a value engine with Cauldron of Eternity in Orzhov decks.
Akuta could go scorched earth wincon with ashnod's altar. play akuta, tap all of your lands, sac akuta, sac swamp, sac akuta, until you get 2 colorless for each akuta sac, and then exsanguinate, torment of hailfire, etc.
Searching your Decked Out . Got the Neb deck list?
Web of inertia seems great in the dimir discard theme with sufficient graveyard hate!
Build Itzquinth, Firstborn of Gishath.
The Daughter of Autumn deck would be the perfect place for a Celestial Dawn! Honestly, the akuta deck is really cool. If they didn't just print ozox the clattering king i would've totally built it
I’ve always wanted to build a Nebuchadnezzar deck! Pet card for me for decades. lol.
These would all be hilarious white elephant gifts, which could lead to some crazy albeit low power fun.
For akuta, there are lands that make tokens when sacrificed. Combining those with a crucible of worlds and terrain generator is what I do in my braids deck. Adding cabal coffers to make these token lands swamps could give you extra value

When Rogues Passage got printed Veldrane got extra depressed lol
For the dragon deck, cards like soul foundry and mimic vat are a must.
The boomerang idea is pretty similar to isperia the incrutable deck i made
Throwing this out there for others
Akuta includes
Gerrard hourglass pendant
And any Leaved the graveyard effects. Tormod, soul enervation, is sweet tech.
I want to know from the people that have an Akuta deck. How often do you cast your commander? Or does it just sit in your command zone the whole game?
An idea could be to build a deck with an idea, like a Canadian Highlander, and pretend that commander is just one of the 99. All of this if the commander doesn't have a wacky downside of course.
For Alexi id also add Crystal shard and Erratic Portal if you don’t want to bounce her each turn or don’t have vial. Also good artifacts offensively funny enough
For Nebuchadnezzar you didn't mention you can get lands, and Wand of Ith is close to another effect of your commander
Eldrazi monument is perfect in the Arashi deck! Indestructible to keep your enrage creatures alive. Flying on all your guys. The sacrifice part of eldrazi monument could work great with those tokens some of your creatures are making. Very cool idea to revisit an underwhelming commander in that way!
rite of passage is a must have the daughter deck !
Man, mask of intolerance with Veldrane is a spicy piece of tech. That's really funny.
Great vid
Are indestructible creatures still technically dealt damage but just ignore death upon enough damage? If so, can you just try to make daughter of autumn indestructible without having to worry about toughness.
Neb would be good with wizened snitches and other cards that let you know what they'll have in their hands
I wish Ishi Ishi was more playable. I would love to build a deck with Ishi as the commander, just so i can say "Ishi Ishi, Akki Crackshot" 20 times a game.
Rite of passage for daughter of autumn
I have actually played agaunst someone using cursed scroll in edh with land tax, and it was actually super relevant hahaha
Mirri, Cat Warrior is the best mono-green commander.
Once again, staff of titania is just a decent card, even in non-green decks. Sure sword of tha animist, bitterthorn and sword of l heart and home are generally better but it has its own advantages too.
For Rashida jackdaw savior
I put together a list for Veldrane in moxfield if anyone is interested.
Acorn catapault
Wait saving grace is a super good card
Daughter of Autumn looks like Elon Musk
Alexi, seens a funny, not funny at all, deck to play lol
Woooooo first comment!!!!
I hate to be that guy, but I don't think the training grounds works with Alexi
why is that?
@@edhdeckbuilding maybe I'm wrong, but doesn't it work the same way spell cost reduction doesn't reduce x spells only the generic mana

@@ForgetfulPaladin correct. and the X is generic mana. bouncing 3 creatures would now only cost 1U.
