Movies I Would Love to See Get a 4K Release 2001: A Space Odyssey The Matrix Lord of the Rings Trilogy The Dark Knight Trilogy (Chris Nolan is already supervising a 4K remaster) Alien & Aliens Lawrence of Arabia
A whole bunch of Nolans movies are going to be released in one package. I can't wait. Inception, Interstellar, Dunkirk, Batman Trilogy, and the Prestige.
Garrick Groover lawrence of Arabia has a 4k remaster. Unfortunately you can only stream it on Amazon and it doesn't seem like its going to get a physical release any time soon.
good job with these reviews I really like your channel dude. and IMO Point Break deserves to be disappointing because it's a 'point'-less cash grab riding off the name of the original movie...which is an epic cult classic Action movie.
Point Break should of never been remade the original was nigh on perfect .. the studios should remaster it in 4K with Dolby Atmos sound, that would be awesome 👏
Hey dude on the facebook group for 4k, there's a lot of discussion around the '2k to 4k upscale' and there's a lot of people who feel it's not 'real 4k' and others who are quite ardent to defend it. Would love to hear your comments around this.
Actually one old movie that really blew me away on Blu-ray is the 1965 "Battle of the Bulge", if you like beautiful orange fireball explosions. Quentin Tarantino said he used 1965 Cinerama lenses from "Khartoum" to shoot "Hateful Eight" because they are still the best lenses out there.
Telling people to avoid 4k disc upgrade based on picture only may be a bit unfair. Most 4k discs also come with new Dolby Atmos or DTS:X audio tracks which, if you have the audio system to support it, could well be well worth the upgrade.
How can you petition or request to see older movies rereleased in 4K? Would love to see what Matrix Trilogy and Star Wars would look like? Thanks for doing this vid. I recently picked up Independence Day and wasn’t impressed at all. So I’ve now been skeptical of older titles such as underworld, etc.
+Allen Elliott thanks so much for watching! I don’t think there’s much you can do besides tweet at them or email but I have a feeling we’ll be seeing the matrix in 4k very soon
Glad you've mentioned Man of Steel at the end. As much as I enjoyed the movie like "the right way how Superman fights" but it's like watching normal bluray. Maybe because of its color tone and noisy quality which defeats the purpose of 4k hdr.
For me Brahm Stoker's Dracula 4K stands out above all other Disappointments on 4K this one really let me down in fact I returned it because I thought it was a fake it looked identical to the Blu-Ray
Hello, Point Break was lame I didn't even buy it on Blu-ray lol. Now the original is a classic. I really like Watchmen too, however not a good transfer either. Thank you for the review.
I thought underworld was a big upgrade over the bd. I noticed the difference right away. I definitely disagree with you on man of steel!! A 100 times better than the bluray. Night and day dude
+Tom Cruise ahh sadly I didn’t see that honestly. Maybe a minor upgrade, but compared to the UHD standard nothing to write home about but we all see things differently
Tom Cruise That's what im saying dude man of steel was a pretty decent upgrade i mean i dont need it again.Underworld has its problems but it did look decent in spots. This brother has a grain hangup.
@@ARMediaOfficial ah that makes sense! The last jedi for me takes the cake in the worst audio. I feel like you can get better audio on cable tv then what disney put out for that movie. Anyways, love your channel thank you
For me, 'Independence Day' is the worst 4k disc I have, the best are 'King Kong and' Warcraft'. The 3D disc of 'Warcraft' is pointless to my eyes, just a bit of depth added.
I thought man of steel was a better improvement to the bluray. Many washed out scenes on the bluray were made visible in the 4k version. And as for sound a better upgrade as well.
Hey man great video I have to agree with u on man of steel no enough of an upgrade over the blu ray but I must be in the minority with watchmen I thought it had very good hdr and a noticeable uptick in resolution
@@ARMediaOfficial yea i have all klipsch speakers 9.2 which includes two 15 inch klipsch subs, Yamaha receiver sony 4k player and 82 inch Samsung 4k tv. It sometimes makes the quality of the pic not so bad when the audio is amazing.
I was never interested in The remake of Point Break so I was never gonna get in on 4k. I love Underworld but it's not available in 4k where I live and The Man Of Steel is one of my favorites and its amazing in 4k to me. Its definitely better than the Blu-ray one, the picture is more crisp and HDR is super cool and the sound on Dolby Atmos is out of this World so I disagree with U on the Man Of Steel to me its brilliant 👍
I don’t think 🤔 I have any of those 4k movies thank goodness 😅 I always wait for you to review a movie before purchase I was going too pick underworld 4k just because of Kate beck is so Hot I already have the bluray box set
I just received today the fifth element on 4K.I was not amazed with the quality.i got to say I hate film to 4K transfers it just seems wrong coz no matter how much “resolution “ film has ,it still is soft as f*** and is not razor sharp.Next movie I’m gonna buy is gonna be one that’s digitally recorded in 4K or beyond
Really I'm surprised? I thought the Fifth Element looked great. Yeah the truth is with film you're never going to get razor sharp, if that's why you're looking for stick to just digital for new 4K releases
Im gonna ask you what i have ask one other time before.Have you ever transferred any film to 4k,do you work for any studio that specialize in transferring films to 4k if not then why do you believe that you can critique any transfer from a professional technical point? I mean who are you to criticize work of people in the business, why should any of us respect your view on what a transfer should look like how would know??
AR Media That's just it AR if i did have a channel criticising transfers i would be qualified in the field so that i'd know what the hell i'm talking about my opinion wouldn't be enough for the people in my opinion.
Thank you on Underworld. This was being rated as a god damn reference disk by a lot of reviewers. They're out of their fucking mind. I get that people like film grain but common we're up to 4k. I've had plenty of releases that kept grain. I want complete clarity from my 4k release. Hell I wanted them back when they where coming to hd.
Hello again Andrew you are you? Pointbreak was very good in 3D by the way why are you not a 3D fun like me/Brass Tax/SpareChange????????? Alone the Dolby Atmos Mix of Underworld and Man of Steal alone is 4k worth it, but than again unlike Brass me or SpareChange the sound Departement is not important for you or your Reviews! But for many Filmlovers the picture quality alone is not everything, and on our (me and SpareChange) 120 inch screen with Sony Nativ 4k Projectors (me VW1000 since 2012) even without HDR Option i see the big different 1080-4k so my advice for you or Brass tax get your self a Projector or minimum at least 85 inch TV than you will do again most of your 4k versus 1080p again i promise you brother.
AR Media Andrew 3D is (out) on its way out????? AVATAR 2 3 4 5 coming 2020 bro in 3D! Once you have seen SW EP7 in 3D at 120 inch on my Infitec 3D System (home cinema version of Dolby 3D) as bright as colorful as 4k like sharp as any 2D BR or 4k with double stack 2x JVC DLA X7000 with up to (lamp stetting) 3500 lumen incl. 4k e-shift brother you will change your mine about (bad) 3D, my system is 120% ghosting - flicker free, not even the commercial cinemas have the quality and nativ contrast (only OLED can better) top 3D quality like my 3D system, SW EP7 is great 2D to 3D convertion incl fantastic pop outs scenes only the 4k HDR Dolby Atmos of it could be also another superb movie experience
0:23 POINT BREAK
0:53 HOW YOU SEE
1:20 UNDERWORLD
1:47 THE ULTIMATE WATCHMEN
2:18 THE ACCOUNTANT
2:58 MAN OF STEEL
#ARMedia
Thanks man!
AR Media your welcome man
The second one is actually Now You See Me. The movie about the magicians doing a heist.
One of the most disappointing things about UHD Blu-ray is that films that have directors cuts or unrated versions only get the theatrical release.
Some do some don't
AR Media Most don't, and they're the important ones that would sell UHD.
The original point break with Patrick swayze and Keanu is one of my favorite movies of all time
+Hamza the original is great, the remake sadly not lol
So this was talking about the remake?
Movies I Would Love to See Get a 4K Release
2001: A Space Odyssey
The Matrix
Lord of the Rings Trilogy
The Dark Knight Trilogy (Chris Nolan is already supervising a 4K remaster)
Alien & Aliens
Lawrence of Arabia
+Garrick Groover would love to see these. Can’t wait for the Batman trilogy
Garrick Groover i have a great news 4 you: warner currency is working on Matrix 1 for 2017
Christopher Nolan did say in an interview that they currently transferring the trilogy to 4k so I think it will be around March 2018
A whole bunch of Nolans movies are going to be released in one package. I can't wait. Inception, Interstellar, Dunkirk, Batman Trilogy, and the Prestige.

Thanks man! That point break remake was trash sadly
I wonder if we'll ever see the original Point Break upscaled to HDR. That would be a day 1 purchase for me lol
Agree these 4K releases should be better, now over to the more important question where did you get that T-shirt?
+Kæl Media haha snagged this at hot topic
AR Media Great thanks :D Picking up the movie today need to be ready for premiere on Thursday (Norway) Cheers!
+Kæl Media can’t wait to see blade runner this weekend! Will be posting a review up as well
Point Break should of never been remade the original was nigh on perfect .. the studios should remaster it in 4K with Dolby Atmos sound, that would be awesome 👏

+crashfellow82 since some of the best transfers have been 2K DIs I just don’t believe that anymore. The hdr is really where these discs shine imo
Man Of Steel has great HDR, did you pop in the wrong disc?
+Sunil S. No deff popped in the right disc. Wasn’t terrible, just could of been better imo
Gotta check it out
I really just want Kubrick's films, Wes Anderson's films, Tarantino's films, and Paul Thomas Anderson's films in 4k. And Apocalypse Now.
Telling people to avoid 4k disc upgrade based on picture only may be a bit unfair. Most 4k discs also come with new Dolby Atmos or DTS:X audio tracks which, if you have the audio system to support it, could well be well worth the upgrade.
Yes old video have updated since

"I am Legend" is my worst 4K title. Wasn't even worth it.
Glad you've mentioned Man of Steel at the end. As much as I enjoyed the movie like "the right way how Superman fights" but it's like watching normal bluray. Maybe because of its color tone and noisy quality which defeats the purpose of 4k hdr.
Yeah sadly that one didn't impress me
I came here thinking one of the Harry Potter movies might have been on here but they weren’t
For me Brahm Stoker's Dracula 4K stands out above all other Disappointments on 4K this one really let me down in fact I returned it because I thought it was a fake it looked identical to the Blu-Ray
Haven’t seen that one yet
Hello, Point Break was lame I didn't even buy it on Blu-ray lol. Now the original is a classic. I really like Watchmen too, however not a good transfer either. Thank you for the review.
Not sure I have seen Schindler’s List on Blu Ray pocked it up on 4k. Can’t wait
AR Media the hdr really stands out for me in both especially mos. Superman suits alone really shines
Tom Cruise Mission Impossible 6 soon finish? Glad you will do after MISSION 6 TOP GUN 2 THE EDGE OF TOMORROW 2 with Doug!
+Tom Cruise yeah I didn’t quite feel the same about those transfers. Just didn’t wow me compared to others on the format
Tom Cruise That's what im saying dude man of steel was a pretty decent upgrade i mean i dont need it again.Underworld has its problems but it did look decent in spots. This brother has a grain hangup.
Audio wasn't included in these ?
Didn't have as good of a system at the time, more focused on audio aspect now as well as video
@@ARMediaOfficial ah that makes sense! The last jedi for me takes the cake in the worst audio. I feel like you can get better audio on cable tv then what disney put out for that movie. Anyways, love your channel thank you
We're can I get the shirt at
+Vernard Waldrop got this at hot topic!
AR Media thx
Ghost in the shell..
Yeah not the best imo
AR Media i was so mad i bought that movie.. Lol
Love your reviews. Hi from Canada.
+GARY OLSEN hey man! Thanks so much!
For me, 'Independence Day' is the worst 4k disc I have, the best are 'King Kong and' Warcraft'. The 3D disc of 'Warcraft' is pointless to my eyes, just a bit of depth added.

Gotta rewatch that one
Tbh I’m kinda glad most of these weren’t released in uk, I ain’t have to import them
Guardians of the Galaxy v.2... was in 8k RAW but they released in 2k DI.
Yes shot in 8K with a 2K DI
@ARMedia. How do you find this information about how the films? Like if it was shot in 2k and upscaled..etc? I’m curious
Hey man great video I have to agree with u on man of steel no enough of an upgrade over the blu ray but I must be in the minority with watchmen I thought it had very good hdr and a noticeable uptick in resolution
+gavinflynn flynn thanks so much man!
what do you think about X-Men first Class 4K is it worth the pickup?
Great Review! Love the shirt by the way. Ghost in Shell did not look so hot on 4k like you said.
+Q Reviews thanks man! I was actually gonna put that as an honorable mention as well
Man of Steel audio is amazing
Yeah didn't have atmos at the time
@@ARMediaOfficial yea i have all klipsch speakers 9.2 which includes two 15 inch klipsch subs, Yamaha receiver sony 4k player and 82 inch Samsung 4k tv. It sometimes makes the quality of the pic not so bad when the audio is amazing.

+Reconxyz89 thanks so much man! Got a bunch more dropping over he next couple of days including atomic blonde and west world 4k!
Collateral was another disappointment for me.
All bad movies. Why would anyone buy such movies?! Save your money for classics and real cinema!

Enders Game is the worst I’ve seen so far. The black levels are an abomination. A space movie with medium grey blacks.
+Brink Bodin don’t own that one luckily lol thanks for watching brother
Thanks man
4k 1984 Ghostbusters Fucking awful transfer. Nothing but grain.
+chiefmegadeth didn’t have a chance to see that one yet!
I don't think anybody gives a crap if these are good conversions, because they are mostly terrible movies anyway.

I got xmen first class for like $9 on special but it looks shit compared to appocolapse.
+Luke really? Was thinking about getting that on iOS! Thanks for the heads up!
Umm..4k sucks
Haha disagree there
AR Media you see an improvement from DVD to Blu-ray but not that big of a difference between Blu-ray and uhd Blu-ray buddy!
Ramon Cape Aguilera what 4K tv do u have?
Brock T I seen them I never bought one and it's not worth it. the only difference is that theres barely any pixels big deal like I care!
Ramon Cape Aguilera u probably blind, it’s cool.
