Gelatin is NOT an animal. Yes it is a good test medium if you know what you are looking at.

  • Sharing some of my thoughts on how gelatin differs from animals and not all animals are the same.
10% was a standard set by the FBI and used by the hunting bullet manufacturing industry for good reasons and it is what I use for all my testing.
Not all animals are the same and not all shot placements go through identical tissue.
Know your animals, bullets and how your bullets will function so you can have the stopping power needed to quickly and humanly harvest game without massive meat loss respecting the animals as best possible. (how much meat loss is acceptable is subject to opinion)

Ballistics gel is a standardized test medium in which to compare bullet performance. It is similar to muscle/tissue, but not the same.

Great videos. Keep going. Do you have sako powerhead blade and lapua naturalis available in US? The best european made coppers. Would be interesting to see them in your gel test in 6.5CM😊

I been wondering how a 95 gr V-Max in 6.5 creedmoor with a advertised velocity of 3300 fps would pro-form on whitetail deer only, i know it will work but are there any advantages other than a lot less bullet drop at longer ranges

They will come apart and not penetrate well on closer shots, which would be my only concern. Great for varmints, not recommend for deer.
