These guys go above and beyond with their installs.
Thank you guys for sharing your knowledge. Amazing detail video as usual. That PAC kit is really nice and it looks really good.
TTacoma thank you, yes they are really stepping up their game
thanks guys good video was thinking about picking up an F150 but didnt like the stock radio - have done many installs in the past but thought the newer F150s would be a big problem - after watching this - it dont look so bad
I used to install in my college days. I have a 2014 F150 with Sony system (Yuck!), and want to install an Alpine system subs and speakers. I think the hardest part will be not breaking the trim pieces. The PAC system looks promising. Thanks for the walk-through on this vehicle. Great job.
Best part of the day. New content from you guys.
Clint L thanks, that's very nice
I keep saying it, but y'all are just great at what you do and clearly take care of the customers.
+jmaslin thank you, to kind
Great work guys like usual thank you were would we be with out great installers like you guys
Thank you
John Perez thank you too.
I did this same kit on my 2017 SuperDuty. Its a really great kit!
One thing to look for is the max defrost not working. The clocking of that gear is critical when putting it back together.
K Ruth so you found out the hard way too. 😄
Did this happen to you as well? I meticulously moved everything over but had to take it back out. Super easy to screw up.
Awesome option. Just what i was looking for. Wish you guys were closer to me.
Great Video had a Scosche installed in my 2016 F-150 Pac would have been less on the pocket.
Al America same here but I do prefer the Scosche .
I installed this kit and it worked fine, However, I was a little dissapointed after realizing most of that really nice dash illumination disappeared .Just adding an amp and upgraded speakers is the way I'd go next time around
This F-150 owner will be very happy 😁
Tim datoolman very
will drink and popcorn are done and so is this episode thanks guys I enjoyed the show
The Beige Wonder I love popcorn 👍🏻
Does this retain the center speaker above the radio? I have the small screen with the center speaker and no amps. I also want to keep all steering wheel functions for phone and stereo. is this possible?
Man. I wish they would release this for the 2020 trucks.
What stereo is that? Also where could I get that kit? Thanks for such a helpful video
Thanks for sharing..going to try this on 18 looks exactly the same
Where is the camera module on 2018 f150 XLT. I took off the stereo and nothing is there and I do have a backup camera.
Same with mine I just discovered that.I have 2 harnesses in the back of the radio.1 only has like 4 wires.I don't have sync either.that backup cam module is not there.I got the Amazon aux .USB hdmi plug that fits where the factory aux Jack is because I new I wouldn't find a USB back there.let me know how yours went.thanks
hey guys can you do a video on how to make the steering wheel control to hook up using an after market control harness. im trying to put a kenwood DDX9016DABS into an nissan np300 using a CHNI9C harness from airpro. i just can't get them to talk to eack other.
regardless i love all ur video. and watch them all. please dont stop making them
Dan
Good job guys, have the same kit otw for my 15 f150. This video will help out a lot.
+CamperDale go slow and make sure the ribbon cables are in good.
This is a nice kit 👍
When wiring the harness you didn't explain the SWC (steering wheel control) wires or the MS-CAN wires. The radio I'm going to install looks like it has a 1/4" jack for the SWC so I assume I just plug that in (Alpine iLX-007) but I see nothing about MS-CAN in the manual for that radio. Can I just take those wires out of the harness? Or do I need them for something.
Also, my radio has a microphone input. Do I need to plug anything into that?
Thanks for the video ... you should get a commission for convincing me to buy one these adapter bezels.
Nice looking kit. very complete.
Brian Patterson it looks really nice and clean in the car.
Great vid guys! Loving the PAC f150 kit. You guys do very very great work. Damian from Carphonix
+Damian Brandt thanks man, so you got one for your truck? By the way I wish I had that bay of yours. So much room, totally jealous.
Just more room for junk is all haha!, no not in my truck...I have an 05 f350. I'm just researching the different kits available for these trucks. I like easy work! 😂
+Damian Brandt right, duh you just got your new truck. You like them big. They also just came out with the older Accord kit with the AC controls.
You should leave links to this stuff like the pioneer
Yea great video but links? Love to know the model of pioneer. Thanks for tutorial
19:27 good view... he is very. good looking.
Great job Guys,
Quick question, in during this installation, if you have the F150 with the factory backup camera, how would you retain that and how would the aftermarket radio know when you're going on reverse?
+Christopher Townsend the kit comes with an adapter to retain the factory camera. The harness also has a trigger for the radio.
Great video. What Pioneer model is that?
what is the pioneer model?
Great video guys! If you don't install the vs41 do the buttons above the pass airbag indicator do anything?
which pioneer head unit is that
Lovely content! Keep it up!
Thank you, will do
Hi guys, I love your channel. Is there a dash kit for a 2017 Ford Edge? I'd like to replace the radio on it (mine has the small screen like the one on this video)
Hello and thanks for this video. I have one question , I have all the wires connected but having trouble with the PINK speed sense wire, where does that connect to?? My Dual 7” has nav, Apple play, rear camera , every wire connected but not one left for that PINK wire. Please help
Amazing, I hope you guys see my comment. I'm installing the JVC KW-M730BT and this exact kit in my F150, but do i need to get onto a computer and program the small blue box that came in the kit or just set the switches to the manufacturer i'm using? Also, If you can recommend any videos on how to properly separate the wires to distinguish them and separate them properly for a more professional look. thanks!
Can someone tell us if the four buttons above the airbag light indicators still have a function or use with the upgrade?
You guys make awesome videos, thank you
don198769 glad you like them, thank you
what radio is that?
Allende NL Pioneer SPH-DA120
I read somewhere that the ambient air temperature reading directly affects the air-conditioning system. Like if it shows its 22 degrees outside, it will blow hot air. When you remove the factory stereo the temperature reading is no longer shown. Will this affect the air-conditioning system?
Hello and thank you for this F150 dash kit video. You happen to have the footage where your wiring up the harness without speeding it up. I’m have some issues getting this kit to sync with my steering wheel. Any help would work. Also in the instructions it says to connect while vehicle is on and you seem to connect it with the truck off? 🤔
Where did you stick that 3.5 jack? The one that says SWC? My steering wheel controls aren't working.
I installed that dash kit with a 10 inch android screen put can’t make the backup camera switch over then had to plug the camera on video in and configured steering wheel button for video in app but sucks every time. Have any clue why it’s not switching over
Everything else works awesome with these dash kits
Sweeeet steering wheel cover man
What was the cord the assistant ran down the A pillar? Excellent, informative video though.
Justin Wacker that was the Bluetooth mic
Quick one and hopefully you know, the little coin holder on the right hand side, what do the wires to behind it and can I switch the plug on the right with the coin holder and use that wireset?
+Ivan Gonick sorry we have never tried to move those
Five Star Car Stereo those are the wires you would use to connect the factory trailer brake to.
Great job on the install,I just ordered a 2018 f150,it's the xl model(cheapest)and it does not have the steering controls but would like to add it if the wires are there .Will this kit extend to 2018.thanks
Does the module allow the use of the heated seat function? The dash kit I got for my Insane Audio DD2001 didn't include the heated seats in the touch screen UI.
Did the new radio plug in and work? Did you have to connect loose wires? Important info that seems to be missing here
Just wondering if you know will this kit have the steering wheel controls and stock USB port work with any aftermarket radio or something specific?
love it
How can I reset this unit? My climate controls have disappeared from the small display which is the only way to turn on the heated steering wheel as well.
Professional.
Helpful video thanks
So the radio takes over the other 2 knobs and the rest of the buttons that didn't go back into the truck?
Hi, great Video
do you have video about the Sony sound system in F150 Lariat?? I try to reach more info, I have one of that truck, sound good but Im thinking put a subwoofer in the back seat :)
Thanks for the great detail. You guys are true professionals. I'm gonna go for it after watching this video. By the way, what head units would you guys recommend that might be able to do iOS and android and your wife won't divorce you when she hears how much you spent?
Martin Watson Did you install the radio in your F150?
Guys, the kit has been working well for 3+ years, but the battery drain becomes a big issue now that I don't drive my truck very much due to the virus situation. The kit seems to be drawing 400+ mA when the vehicle is off. My battery should be able to last about one week, but it died a few times already every time I parked it for longer than 1 week. I have seen others reporting the issue, but no one had an answer. Do you guys have any suggestions? TIA.
What model pioneer is that? I would like to put one in my 2012 civic
Cesar Mendoza pioneer AppRadio 4
This helped a lot, but I cannot figure out my steering wheel controls, or factory mic for my phone.
I know this is an old video, but we're you guys able to use the built-in USB port for this F-150? I am planning on doing the same install except I have the floor console/shifter where the USB port is in the tray. Wanting to retain use of that port.
Is that the guy from Napoleon Dynamite? Vote for Pedro!
Good work ...guys 👌
Great video guys, really helped with my install. I installed the Nex 4200 with the PAC kit, everything seems to work great but no steering wheel controls. the light flashes on the brain when i push the button, but nothing happens?? any ideas?
Jeff Matson make sure the PAC is plugged into the right hole on the back of the radio. There are 2 one is WR the other is Aux. make sure the dial is set to the right number for Pioneer
Can you a video with the pac rpk4-hd1101 dash install mounting kit for 03-07
Five Star Car Stereo. I have questions before installing this. GREAT VIDEO by the way. Why are you adding the HDMi cable ? If the Double Din I'm buying as the Sirius option, do you still need to buy a iDataLink SAT1 or the Ford cable will plug in directly (Pioneer/Keenwood) ? I saw a comment that the microphone won't work, is that the Ford Bluetooth microphone ? My F-150 2017 radio works without the key in the ignition, you can turn it On/OFF as you please when inside the car, will that still be the same, I saw a comment below but not sure if the guy had it wrong ? Lastly, the factory USB at bottom console remains connected to the Double Din once install finished properly ? Thanks a lot for you help guys. Great tutorial.
+Knotdead to do Sirius Xm younwill need the Svx300 add on tuner. If you want to use the factory Sirius antenna you will need the SAT1. No the radio will only turn on when the key is on. Yes the factory USB stays. You have to use the after markets Bluetooth mic.
At 17:54 what color wire did you use in the PAC harness to extend blue remote wire for external amp?
You guys are awesome
Sean Dodson thanks
Awsome job!
See ya later next time!!
avelezz91 thanks, you bet
Awesome, I have the exact truck and im looking to install a double din radio. Cructchfield came up when looking and they said to do a PC spec work which I didn't see in your video. What radio did you hookup as well? I'm looking for a radio for apps, navigation, media built such as RUclips, Netflix etc and not that pricey .Appreciate the info and help
Custom Sounds beat Crutchfield by over 200.00 and I only live 9 miles from Crutchfield.
What size screen of the radio can I use my truck is a 2015 I ordered the pac dash kit just wanted to know what size screen stereo I can use
Do you still see the temperature if you change to an aftermarket radio?
Hola que tal lo cambie igual al video pero la botonera me fallo no me sale aire caliente no se si me falto algo en armar
Wish I would have watched this before o did my install! Any idea how to fix the temperature knob of i didint put it in the middle before the install?
Did you ever figure it out I have the same issue
Does anyone know if you can connect an aftermarket rear camera during install if you don’t previously have a camera?
Im wondering if this and a double din is worth it over just the amp pro.
Can you help, me send pm. I'm looking for a dash kit to install a double din on my f250 2018 xlt, I have an 8" screen do I need this base?
Does this kit include a plug to keep my siriusxm? I can't live without it!
+Mazer vapes no you will need the sxv300 runner and the Sat1 adapter
I have a problem my 2018 Ford F-150 have the Rear camera I connect the 52 pine will not turn on on the screen
does it really matter if you lose SYNC? i need to install one of these soon for a customer
Hi guys, great videos and very informative! I wonder if you guys had any installs with the maestro KIT-FTR1 on a 2017 F-150 or above?
I did an install 3 weeks ago on a 2017 F350 with the kit you mention, worked great.
For a 2016 F150 with the large display already without Sony how would one go about getting Front, Rear, Sub outputs in the truck? I saw the other video you did with a F150 but it had Sony. What do those without Song do?
Colin G. You have to do a High to Low for that. Something like the AudioControl LC7i
Yeh for the price of it i just trade mine in.
Howdy guys. Hey do you have a dash kit for the 2015+ F150 Platinum with cameras and massaging seats?
I have one question to remove the side a/c vents, do you have to remove the center console of the stereo dash in order to remove your side vents.
+JuggaloDown4Life no AC vents have to come out for this kit. He went overboard
Is this still the best kit or is there a newer version available these days?
what do the four buttons above the passenger air bag light do now? What about Sirius? I'm guessing you would have to buy the receiver for your new head unit but can you use the factory Sirius antenna since it is already mounted on the roof of my truck?
OK, I see the four buttons control the back up, front view and blind spot mirrors if you have them.
Brian Vickers and if you get the iDatalink Sat1 you can keep the antenna
Good video 👍
Do you have a video that shows how to wire the double din ?
Is there a similar kit for a 2015 Ford Taurus SEL
Hey guys thanks, will this work with the Platinum trim pkg? It includes multi camera and some vehicle settings.
+Everett McGill this kit only works on the small screen. The replacement for the bigger screens is coming hopefully by the end of the year.
is there a similar kit for 2015 explorer . none sony system with my sync . maybe I missed it but does it retain the sync system .
rob Hill this unit removes the Sync system. The PAC kit is not out yet. Metra is the only one making one right now.
Hi just used this installation kit with a Pioneer AVH-4100NEX and not sure with I did wrong but the unit powers up as soon as I plug it in without the key even being turned and it stays on plz any info would be a great help TY
+Joseph Casillas check the red wire coming out of the smart harness. That wire should turn on and off with the key when the drives door is open.
I know the iDataLink Maestro works with the head unit I have purchased, but will it work with this dash kit? I have read conflicting reviews and I want to keep all Sync functions. Thank you!
We have never tested it. The kit is a stand alone, and does not use any PAC hardware to function. Talking with PAC they have never tried it either. They, like me see no reason why it should not work. Give it a try
Might be a funny question but can you turn this into a single din so you can put an old school alpine in there? And if you can't, does anyone make a kit for the single dins? Thanks
I know it's been 3 months but the kit does come with the option to install a single din
Best video on youtube , Noice !!
Can you use the factory microphone instead? I don't see an audio cable.
+2011MonsterJam no
where is the usb amd input and aux plus little pocket?
Great job on the install! Do I need anything to add so that I can control the radio with the steering wheel. I really would like to keep the feature?
what size stereo will fit in that hole? Great video guys!
+John B any stand double din
+Five Star Car Stereo Standard 👆🏻
Thank you. kinda figured, but I didn't see it listed on the website. haha
My driver side vent would NOT release at the bottom...not sure wtf
