Yeah, I'm like, these seats are Mets' orange and the Jets were the guests at Shea Stadium in comparison. Yet fans are treating the stadium like it was going to be imploded after the season. The Mets and Shea Stadium were like one and the same. The Jets mostly lost at Shea Stadium except in the late 60s when Namath had his magic arm.

Originally, while the Jets played here, the Giants played at the old Yankee Stadium. Both baseball stadiums were also home to college football teams. Yankee Stadium was home to the NYU Violets, while Shea Stadium was home to the St. John’s Red Storm. NYU is no longer Division 1, and IDK why.

Yes, Shea was cold, ugly and didn't have enough bathrooms. But it was part of the Jets identity & character. Tough, gritty & blue-collar, just like their fans. And those fans were loud (like the planes from nearby LaGuardia Airport), obnoxious, raucous. Shea literally rocked when Gang Green had their best moments.
I don't believe in curses, but the Jets leaving New York cast a huge shadow over the franchise ever since. It has not been the same. MetLife Stadium is a boring, character-less, concrete pit. Owner Woody Johnson has made awful decisions, but he can regain a measure of respect - and restore pride- by returning them to Queens where they truly belong.

The Johnson's suck too, they do not know how to build a sustainable winning franchise and are always chasing a short cut. If you want to turn this thing around you have to find an architect with a Super Bowl winning resume that is not from over 10 years ago.
