I saw this game when I was living in San Jose Ca. I went to a Raiders fan club bar in Oakland to see it. I was never more proud of being a Jets fan except for when we beat the decades best football team in SB3.
Yes, but notice the score is white and it reads 21-27 Jets. Hey, you've got Super Bowls to keep you happy, let us Jets fans enjoy this moment, even if it was 25 years ago!
I surely remember this pivotal game between the Gang Green and the Big Blue in December 1988. I actually won my bet in the office pool because of O'Brien's 5-yard TD pass to Toon. It seems just like yesterday in all retrospectives. What sticks out of my mind is that LT was a non-factor (no INT/Sack /Forced Fumble) in this clash. Like the old saying: "On any given Sunday, any NFL team can beat any other NFL team".
This loss did not officially eliminate the Giants from the playoffs despite finishing 10-6 regualr season & would have backed-in into the playoffs if not for the L.A. Rams 38-16 rout of the 49ers later that Sunday night in a game the 49ers put no effort to win. Their 2 head-to-head losses to Philadelphia (10-6) & their regular season loss to the Rams (10-6) in week 4 was the difference between making or missing the playoffs.
Darn, wanted to see the last play which was a hail mary to Stacey Robinson by Simms that should have actually been caught. I never forgave Robinson for that lol.
This was my jets Super Bowl. I remember Kenny 'O and thought he was such an underrated Qb and never got the recognition he deserved loved this
bring back these jets unis!!!!!!!!!
Jets had some talented teams in the late 80s. Just were never quite able to put it together.
Rich Kotite as a Jets assistant, and Belichek as a Giants assistant.

A Very Brady Christmas!
I have been a New York Jets fan since 1981. This was a great game. Finished 8-7-1 but it was a great year. I too hated Joe Walton.
Thank you for this upload! Thanks to this victory the Eagles won the NFC East that year.

Walt Michaels should have been NY Jets head coach NOT Joe Walton.
I remember this game. After the Eagles beat the Cowboys CBS switch to this game and I was rooting hard for the Jets to win the game. Thanks Jets.
This is part of how the Giants missed the playoffs despite winning 10 games.
If the Giants had held on, how does that affect the NFC playoff picture?
Jets beat G-men in 88 and 93, and the Giants have won every regular season meeting since
0:00 Hostetler!
