- In Episode 2 of our Australian Cruise Adventure on the Azamara Quest cruise ship, we are rudely awoken in the middle of the night, have the most shocking response from guest relations, Paul kisses a fish, we have our first speciality dining experience on board and sample some more of the entertainment around the ship.

Glad to see you didn't let the issue get to you for the rest of your trip. I'd be fuming all day, steam blowing out of my ears and not enjoying my cruise. Paul is showing tremendous restaint! (lol) The initiation and the singing took his mind off of it!

Just another fantastic video! A real bummer about you first cabin. It's amazing how short sighted guest relations were to treat you as they did. I am glad to hear though that the rest of your experience was top notch. I got a kick out of Paul's tale of the man who parked himself right beside him on the pool deck. It reminds me of when I park way away from a store entrance with no one around me and some guy parks his big old pick up truck right beside me even though there were dozens upon dozens of other spots to park in. LOL I am looking forward to seeing how the rest of your trip went.

Great video. Mixed emotions on this one, hate that you had such a bad experience with guest relations and hated seeing Carole upset 😢 but Paul was very funny and i cant believe he said Mofo 😂 glad you had a good time despite ‘cabingate’ 😁

We were looking to book with Azamara but after watching this it made us think again . Thanks for telling it like it is.
It's a shame about the guest relations team on our cruise, however the rest of the cruise was great. We are back on Azamara Onward in November for our replacement cruise so will be interesting to see how that goes!
I could relate to the sunbed experience. Sometimes I can park in a carpark that almost empty and when I return to my car, there's someone parked right next to me!! Unbelievable.

Azamara Quest was amazing in 2020. Yes, it's dated in the rooms and bathrooms are small. No wow factor whatsoever. The ship is beautiful, service, food and staff. You can understand the small rooms and bathrooms- it's fine because of everything else. However, you cannot dismiss the horrible service in customer relations that you received. It's beyond bad - It is an absolute nightmare
Exactly it is a lovely ship! Hopefully this is just a blip and will be addressed as Azamara do so much really well too!
To be lied to is awful. I hope you are going to get a refund. Blatant lying like that is awful. I don’t enjoy silver service dining because I don’t eat very much, would much prefer a smorgasbord.

I’ve sailed with Azamara 2 x . If this is how they treat customers they won’t be in business long. Their staterooms are brutal anyway.

I tend to like ships from the mid 1990's to 2005, not the super oversized ships built in the last 10-15 years.
Understand that the older ships do have lots of charm!

There was, we kept getting drawn to the different themes! We do eat a lot on the MDR in the second part of our trip! 😀

The sunchair incident you describe happens all to often unfortunately. I never get it when some guy decides to park it right next to you when there are a whole bunch of chairs available everywhere. The only explanation I think of is they are gay and hoping to hook up. You never see single women parking it right next to you, they always get a chair away from others.
Definitely frustrating!

Terrible, poor maintnance and diabolical service. I will never go near Azamara when there are plenty of good cruise lines available. I did the crossing of the line ceromony about 10 years ago with MSC going to Brazil and it was far more extreme that that one Julie avoided it as well. We crossed the line twice on our cruise this year and Cunard was quite mild as well.
It was frustrating at times to say the least!
I hope they at least gave you an on board credit for your cabin inconvenience.
No, they didn't give us anything, not even an apology for our inconvenience! Since we have been home, the shoreside team has gotten involved, and we have now been given a replacement cruise, which we are taking at the end of November.

The new owners are in deep debt.They will cut back on maintenance such as these door seals.They are likely all rotted out to some degree.Who knows what else is hidden??Older shops are like older cars.

I really wish you had filmed the guest relations people and manager as thru were speaking to you just for proof on film to send to their headquarters. That is just horrible! Lying to you about the raffle and telling you no upgrades were available when the ship was not even full? So sorry Carole got so upset. Glad you went to the Neptune ceremony and have good service otherwise. It looks so gross, though… Carole was the smart one to hold the camera! I’d love to know how many years you have been married.
The equator ceremony was so much fun, LOL yes definitely the smart one holding the camera 😂😂. We have been married 20 years, together 28. 😍
I’m sorry, they booked a top grade balcony and they encountered a problem with the rain water etc. That does not entitle them them to a suite when comparable balcony cabin are available. Should a comparable balcony not have been available then yes, an upgrade would be the logical next step. I felt Carole and Paul were trying it on, so I have no sympathy.
This is not about an upgrade this is about staff being rude and unprofessional and about doing the right thing. Think you have missed the whole issue.
