You can do some cool stuff with data merge if you combine it with excel and scripts. I used it to create a few thousand product cards swapping out the images and text for them all with data merge, very powerful.

Hi, great tips! Just curious, a question related to tip1: how did you get the spacing between those individual shapes? Mine are just stuck together with no gap in between.
Use the Command/Ctrl key along with the arrow keys to adjust spacing between rows or columns. You can use the Shift key to constrain the shapes’ proportions (to squares or perfect circles).
Hope that helps!
@@SatnamB thank you! Worked like a charm!
Hey, thank you very much for the review. How do you add electric app to the tracks? (Real electric app)
hey satnam. these tips are unbelievable, really good. a quick question, is it possible for us to adjust the spacing of rectangles in tip no one?
Hey Aebel, Sure. Use the Up or Down arrow keys to create or delete rows, respectively; Use the Left or Right arrow keys to delete or create columns. Use the Command/Ctrl key along with the arrow keys to adjust spacing between rows or columns. You can use the Shift key to constrain the shapes’ proportions (to squares or perfect circles).
Lastly when creating text frames, you’ll end up with threaded frames.
Hope that helps!
@@SatnamB thanks a lot that was really helpful

I need help. How to flip/mirror pages after adding odd page in middle of the book? BTW., you are awsome.
Try this:
Select the Pages panel.
Select the pages you want to rotate.
Click the Options button on the panel, point to Page Attributes, point to Rotate Spread View, and then click 90° CW, 90° CCW, or 180°
If you want to mirror them, group everything on your page and flip horizontally.
Mylosp thanks man
5 seconds before you said thats a bit boring I was like dude thats sick
Tip#1 - Using Arrow Keys move the object left, right, up, and down. It does not change the divisions.
You have to hold down the mouse button and then use the arrow keys to get the divisions.

Great Video, but how do you get the picture into the text?
You first have to outline the text. Then merge all the text together to create a compound path. Next paste in the image.
I’m writing a graphic memoir of how I used my health and fitness knowledge to stop my mother with mild dementia from forgetting me, and it worked. I've created 8 chapters so far, but searching is difficult. I’m wondering if you know how to find a word in an entire book instead of just a chapter? Thanks
Hey, you can find words using the "find/change" tool in Edit. You can set it to find a specific word and search the entire document. The way it searches depends on how you have set up your document. Alternatively if that doesn't work, look into "Edit with story editor" or GREP.
Tip #1 is so cool. But how can I change the space between the shapes.
While dragging the shapes out. Press ctrl and the arrow buttons to increase or decrease the gaps between the shapes. Make sure you keep the mouse button down.

I need a detailed video on Tip 7! I am so confused on the second part! It must not be working properly for me!
Sure I make a video on clipping masks.
Check if you have created the outlines of the text and are using a compound path.
Returning here 2 years after I first saw the video, I realised just now how much I have learnt. I am so grateful for your channel, everytNice tutorialng
He did. Basically, all your Drum kit/percussion or whatever u want to call was ALL RED. So if you have a drum kit - KICK, SNARE, Nice tutorial
What do I do when the channel rack becos too cluttered? If I can, how do I clear it?
Hope you can help. For some unknown reason to me InDesign has decided when I open a new document that the rectangular, shape and even the text boxes open with a inset. I would say it is 2mm. In the text box it shows as a 0 inset but it is still there. This is making working extremely difficult as I have to eyeball the inset to get them to fit into the columns.
Got any idea how I can get rid of this? On previous files this is not there.
When you open InDesign, before you open a document, go to window>workspace and change it to essentials to hide the home menu. Any changes you make here will be implemented on all documents going forward. See if you can change your settings here to reverse the indentation. Have you tried using a different font to see if the font has been corrupted?
The alternative is to clear your preferences. However you will lose any custom set ups like short cuts, user dictionaries and value changes.
How can I add the navigation bar you are using?
explanation of tNice tutorialngs and how they work 11/10 video
Whenever I use GMS, it softs notNice tutorialng like yours, even though it has the sa settings... It's just a buzzing noise. Weird.
