I have used InDesign for many years and still learning, thanks to helpful tutorials like yours. Thank you Ashlee for sharing your knowledge and helpful information. 👍
I'm a graphic student and the only part i know about indesign is the color theme. your videos helped me discover what more adobe indesign can do and it's really cool. thank you so much. Sending love from Malaysia
Thank you so much for this excellent video. Your presentation style was exactly what I needed...clear voice, a pace I could follow, and visible examples. You are now my "go-to" for all things InDesign.
I pulled a “yea I know how to use this” for a job and have been figuring it out as I go. My god this platform is unnecessary confusing compared to other similar platforms 😂
Wow, these tricks are amazing! I'm graduating this year, and none of my design professors over four years have ever shown me this. Your content is a lifesaver!
Nice tips in general. I liked the "Fill form" tip most, since I recently had such a task and did it directly in Acrobat, but it would have been faster and easier in InDesign. I have two comments, though, about the "Find/Change" tip and "Surfer" tip. At "Find/Change" tip it would be great if you explained advanced options in the "Find/Change" pop-up window as well. Since you wanted to change the word that appears as a title and in the footer on all the pages, one would think that you have the footer placed on the Master/Parent page. Since your video shows that you jump to each text box separately, it is obvious the footer isn't placed on the Master/Parent page. And if you have content on the Master/Parent page and you use the general "Find/Change" tool, Indesign wouldn't change the content on the Master/Parent page, unless you click one of the advanced options in the "Find/Change" pop-up window. As far as the "Surfer" tips goes, I would use "Paste into" option and not the pathfinder to basically cut the letter W from the background. So, the steps are the same as in your video, but once the letter W is transformed to outlines, you simply click on the image, copy it, select the outlined letter W and use "Paste into" option. In this case you move the whole title around the layout as you wish. Of course, if you move the position of the title, you have to repeat the "Paste into" again. Keep up the good work.👍
So amazing. Quick question, is it possible to do the QR codes with data merge? This way it will create unique QR codes based on a column in your csv file
Hi! Yes, you can definitely generate unique QR codes using Data Merge in InDesign! By linking your QR code generator to the data from your CSV file, you can create individual codes for each entry. It’s a great way to streamline your workflow! Cheers!
Hi! First of all this was an awesome video with great tips ✨... But I have question about the InDesign and the gif format (and I don't know is this the right place to ask it 😅 if it's not I'm sorry for that). I would like to create a presentation with the help of InDesign and add some gifs as cool details... However the final presentation needs to be pdf - and I don't know how to export a pdf from InDesign with working gif elements. I tried a lot but it's still not working... Has anybody an idea for this?
@@ReasonTwentyTwo Maybe you already figured it out, but I found that if you use a .mp4 file it works. GIF didn't work for me either. When you import the .mp4 and go to window > interactive > media. Here you can chose 'play at page loading' and 'play in loop'. When you get an error that you can not import the video, you have to save it again or try again and then it worked for me. You can also change the frame, for example to 'current frame' > now the video will play in the current frame you created (you can crop the video in the frame of your choise. With no frame, it will be as big as the original file. When exporting you use interactive pdf > the pop-ups you can ignore > there are no specific settings. Sometimes you have to click on the video for it to play, with others it plays automatically. Maybe that is in my settings. I hope this helps
hi ı have one question, ı open shape layer and ı create one custom design but when ı write to text, but text coming reverse ı dont understand whts problem
Hi! It sounds like you might be experiencing issues with text direction or orientation in your design. If the text is appearing reversed, check if the text frame is set to a flipped orientation or if the text direction is set to "Right to Left" instead of "Left to Right." You can adjust these settings in the "Paragraph" panel. Cheers!

These are great! I am wondering how you created that thick pink line that animates in each of your section breaks. ??
I thought that may be after effects or premier pro. But I am just guessing.
Hey Ashlee! Great to meet you! Thanks for the tips.
Nice interactive hints, could you tell me how to export the document to .pdf to avoid miss any of them?

Hey, I was going to post the same query. Did you have any luck finding a solution?
I want to know as well. When I watch it in the interactive preview pannel my gif works, but when I export it to pdf it doesn't.
