Therefore the game pulls up the guiding light screen, and tries to read a message that doesn't exist, therefore it is immediately over and the death screen ends exactly the same way it does when a regular death message ends The doors devs aren't perfect, as proven from the Sally bug with items floating around her, it's clearly a bug, like this instance, but if you take it seriously it implies Sally has some kind of telekinesis, which is nowhere near true To take every little thing as intentional is ridiculous, especially when said "feature" is clearly a bug, and it takes place in a non canon game mode

5:17 Ik this isn't really abt Sally but I wanna add to the whole "is trick or treat canon" theory. while trick or treat modifier/halloween update most likely isn't entirely canon (or at least not yet), there are 3 specific candies that still do hint to something lore-related. The architects have their own candies. Curious light has volatile starlight, and guiding light has guidance. The candies with those skins (crescent shape on a blue candy, star shape on a yellow candy, as those are the symbols and colors of the two architects) always do the same thing. They never change, whereas the rest of the candies have randomized skins. Now look at the can-die candy. It's always the red candy with the modifier symbol/spiral on a red candy, which is theorized to be the symbol of the third architect, the red light. It has its own candy as well. Since that candy only ever hurts you (takes away 90 or 100 hp), that's another thing. It has the same function every time. (Guiding light candy=always good, curious light candy=sometimes good, sometimes bad, sometimes both. Can-die= always bad. Also showing that guiding light is always good, curious light is neutral, and the red light is bad.) P.s. Please nobody come at me with the "volatile starlight has 3 different results" thing bc I know that. But it does one of those same 3 functions if you eat it.

The architects are included is literally every part of the game and I am excited for what the future holds for them. I don't know if anyone noticed but the architects are also included in the fuses in floor 2 with each bulb lighting up blue, yellow, red, representing them as the architect's colors. I wonder how this will impact the game, if there is an impact.

I think Sally is a little girl infected by Seek. Here’s why. 1. When she’s chasing you she will both laugh and scream. I think that the laughter is coming from Sally and the screaming is coming from the goo because Seek can also scream. 2. Screeches can float but giggles can’t which means that Seek can make living things float when he infects them. This would explain how Sally is able to get up onto the window even when it’s high up. 3. Obviously because her entire body is black except for her eyes and teeth which is glowing white. Screech’s eyes also glow white. And I think Seek can make any part glow white which is why Sally’s teeth can glow.

Sally was a more common name around the 1940s Now it’s a very well known name but that’s around the time it became popular. Judging by the design of the hotel (and game theory lol) the hotel seems to be roughly created in the 1930s through 1940s as well, which fits this theory. An interaction indicator appears when a player stands near Sally and points the camera toward her while she's playing with an item. However, interacting with her seemingly does nothing. I think Sally is a little girl infected by Seek. Here’s why.
1. When she’s chasing you she will both laugh and scream. I think that the laughter is coming from Sally and the screaming is coming from the goo because Seek can also scream.
2. Screeches can float but giggles can’t which means that Seek can make living things float when he infects them. This would explain how Sally is able to get up onto the window even when it’s high up.
3. Obviously because her entire body is black except for her eyes and teeth which is glowing white. Screech’s eyes also glow white. And I think Seek can make any part glow white which is why Sally’s teeth can glow.

honestly sally was WAY better when it was just ''Window''
no hate to the new design and mechanics (altho they def need a rework) but having a pitch white face stare at you outside the window with no official name for a few secs as an easter egg so rare that people didn't even know if it existed after certain updates felt way more ''intriguing'' and was more like an unconscious scavenger hunt everytime you played hotel (kind of like the easter egg rooms in SHM)
And that way almost nobody would even care about having an actual mechanic with an actual model is way better than just some silly rare entity who doesn't even reward a badge

Now it’s a very well known name but that’s around the time it became popular.
Judging by the design of the hotel (and game theory lol) the hotel seems to be roughly created in the 1930s through 1940s as well, which fits this theory.

Behavior Behavior
In The Hotel, Sally has a low, random chance to rise up from the outside void of any medium-sized window, staring at the player. Sally will then proceed to jump out, start giggling and chase the player slightly above their default walking speed. If Sally is close enough to the player, she will jump on their face, leaving Sally's face marked on the screen before fading away. If a player was holding an item, the entity will not disappear - instead, she will steal the item and play with it, before despawning. If Sally finds an item (including items dropped by players) while chasing the player, she will stop and play with the item, and eventually disappear, without damaging the player.
Sally's damage is very unique: When being jumpscared by Sally, she removes 2/3 of the victim's current HP (capped to a minimum of 3 HP) and divides their current max HP by 1.3 (capped to a minimum of 50 max HP). This also means it is impossible to die to Sally.[4] Additionally, she sets the player's oxygen to 5%, being extremely lethal inside a Firedamp room (with Modifiers).
Notes
As of The Content Update, you can crucify Sally.[5]
To do this, players have to hold the Crucifix when Sally jumps on the player's face. However, it is also possible to crucify her after she starts playing with any item, and interacting with her while holding the Crucifix.
Dropping the Crucifix so she plays with it will also crucify her as of the 12/22/2024 patch. However, it was possible for her to play with the Crucifix before, and was firstly documented by Fabre on RUclips[6].
It is impossible to die to Sally, as her damage won't decrease the player's health below 3 HP.
Star shield won't do anything against Sally, she can only decrease the player's main health.
If Sally finds an item on a table or in an open container, the whole table or container with the item will move when Sally starts playing with it, as both models are attached.
Sally can't interact with Glitch Fragments.[7]
If the player is too far from Sally at any moment, she will teleport next to them.
Sally is client-sided, this means each player will encounter a "different" Sally, very similar to Haste, Dread, A-90 or Halt.
This also means spectating players won't be able to see Sally.
When Sally is seen outside the window, the lights will start to flicker in every room. When she enters through the window, all the lights will break, meaning every room will be dark.
Sally can be seen through walls until she starts interacting with an item.
Sally can spawn as early as Door 1, аn example of a seed where this happens is 2367898.
Modifiers that increase overall enemy spawn chance ("Bad Time", "Really Bad Time", "Worst Time Ever") also work on Sally's spawn.
When she damages the player, she also divides their max HP by 1.3, however, if the result of this operation is under 50, it will be set to 50. This gives a huge advantage with the Modifier "Last Breath", as the player's max HP will go from 2 HP to 50 HP.
Jumpscare

Sally will jump on the player's face and her smile will be stuck on the screen before fading away.
Bugs
Sally will disappear after the animation of her breaking into the hotel if the player has God Mode enabled with the Admin Panel.
This is due to Sally not having anyone to attack, because God Mode gets rid of any entity interaction whatsoever.
This is also how you can survive even instakill entities, such as Seek or Figure.
The player's health bar normally becomes invisible after being jumpscared by Sally.
If Sally has seen an item, and a player gets it right before Sally reaches it, she will keep walking in a straight line forever.[8]
Doing this, players won't lose any item and won't receive any damage at the same time.
An interaction indicator appears when a player stands near Sally and points the camera toward her while she's playing with an item. However, interacting with her seemingly does nothing.
Strategy
If any player has an item, they can drop it so Sally gets it and stops chasing players. If the run is in multiplayer, any item dropped from anyone will cancel Sally completely.
If the players have no items to drop, it is very hard to avoid her jumpscare and damage.
If this is the case, the safest thing they can do is trying to run away from her, so she finds another item in the way while she is chasing you, as she will also get distracted by items that are on tables or in open containers.
A Crucifix is useful against Sally if players are in a critical situation.
Sally moves quickly, so it is recommended for players to use speed boosting Items and not come close to her.
Attempting to "juke" Sally will not work, since she phases through walls and move in a straight line towards the player.
Players need to make sure to not get jumpscared inside a Firedamp room, as Sally will decrease heavily the player's oxygen, making them die in a matter of seconds, or even instantly.

According to the meshes used for Sally, her eyes weigh 29 grams and her full mouth weighs 35 grams. This equals to her weight in real life being 64 grams.
However, in the Tower Heroes Collab, the eyes mesh is separated into two meshes, the same goes for her mouth; her left eye weights 16 grams, the right eye weighs 19 grams, her upper jaw weighs 13 grams and her lower jaw weights 18; thus, even though her Tower Heroes counterpart is smaller, she weighs more (66 grams).
Ghostly_Wowzers previously confirmed that Sally would never be related to any in-game achievements, because she is "only an easter egg".[13] Wowzers has also stated and that Sally would likely remain an easter egg "for now",[14] but that she possibly would have an in-game mechanic in the future.[15][16] With the addition of the "Playtime" and "Playtime's Over" badges, this statement is now outdated.

Sally's design was inspired by a Charlie shadow from Don't Starve.[18]
Sally's design also resembles Frenzy from Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion.
While it was thought that Sally was a reference to The Backrooms' Smiler Entity, RediblesQW confirmed that this was only a coincidence.[citation needed]
Sally existed in-game before the Hotel+ Update as an easter egg. She appeared very rarely in the windows just as a smile, and she would disappear after the next clap of thunder. She was removed in the Hotel+ update, being only visible in the Lobby, as she also was previously.
Sally, in her old behavior, just like most rare entities, could 'kill' players indirectly by distracting players to their window and giving them less time to react to a possible threat.
Eventually, after a long time, Sally was re-implemented in The Content Update to the game, with her current behavior.
Sally is one of the two entities from The Hotel to not appear in The Mines, likely due to the fact that there are no windows for her to appear in. The other entity is Snare.

Sally is currently the only confirmed female entity in the game.
The jump animation for Sally right before her jumpscare might be a reference to Withered Foxy from FNAF 2, as their jumpscares are both very similar.
Her face fading away right after also might be a reference to most of the Phantom Animatronics' jumpscares in FNAF 3.
Sally's mechanic may be inspired by this video since the lights flicker when they are encountered and they both jump at the player. This video has also been referenced before in the 2023 April Fools event
