37:24 Barry's doubled vocals are less precise than I ever thought, nonetheless, it's exactly that latency that gives the falsetto voice such an amazing power 38:23 Test? Many thanks for sharing, this is a big present!
Well i think that this is just a mix of all the takes, which is why some of them don't line up right. You can look up the vocals for stayin alive and you will see the finished version except without music, and it sounds pretty precise.
The first verse, although double tracked only used a single track in the final mix that's why there was no obvious misaligned overlaps. It was just presented all that was recorded, then they filter out which one to use in the final mix.
Sloppy tracking is why we have all those nuggets. Mixing is a lot harder when there's lots of stuff to mute. BTW I say this as an engineer who used to mix 2" tape without automation

@@PenVerine 1. If when mixing the tracks you set all the channels to center, including stereo-purposed channels in the pan pots, yes. 2. Stereo recordings have been available since the end of the 50s (Dave Brubeck Quartet - Time Out form ‘59 is an example). 3. The mixed-down version has several instruments, including the strings, stereo-imaged. That’s why I asked.
Maurice used a Rickenbacker 4001 on the Saturday Night Fever tracks. You can hear that Ricky thud everytime he plays the low Bb in the verses. Direct injected to the console and compressed quite a bit.

Once you've heard him sing both "it's okay" and "I'm okay" at the same time, you can never unhear it!

Hi, I just checked the three links and they work correctly. Make sure to skip the shortener properly.

If you have any doubt the shortener is adfly.
Worked fine for me. You have to skip the first ad page you get to. Don't forget the password. Then extract with a RAR extractor.

Boy I sure would like to know what they used for strings back then cuz I know that's not a real orchestra
I'd say synthesizers
@@mrmultitracks5443
Well yes I know it's synthesizers but I wonder exactly what synthesizer they used
@@shadowsymphony1 it's an ARP String Ensemble

Really nice!
It's absolutely a real orchestra. You can't get those articulations and tones out of any synthesizer, even today.

Wich type of Bass was used on this track?
I don't know
I would say just a regular bass guitar with some chorus and compression
Sounds like a P Bass with flatwound strings, played with a pick.
