Nice job. Now that the virus has hit Chicago, I'm out of work for a few weeks, I hope. I will be building a new bridge myself. Thanks for helping with some good ideas.
A good tip when using polyfiller for road surfaces, is to mix some black acrylic paint to the mix, which will give you a tarmac looking surface when dry. If it gets chipped for any reason, it won't show any white patches. I used this method for the road surface on a model tramway layout I built many years ago.
thanks Paul the blue paint looks a lot darker than it does in the video, your right a bit of weathering will give it the x factor.........................regards Tony
cheers Dave I'm pleased with the way the bridge worked out . the blue was really dark but now its dried out its a little bit lighter. just got to add some weathering, paving, vehicles, oh must not forget the pub crawlers .....................Tony
+TONY NORTH EASTERN Not yet Tony, Im trying to save up cash so I can buy some rigid foam board for the base, then undecided to use pollyfilla for the hard standing or plastic sheet, also need 2 peco code 100 inspection pits the new mpd will be on a plywood base table 5ft x 3ft unless I win the lotto then the layout will be 56ft x 48ft lol
Hi Tony, I've been watching your channel for sometime and i'm captivated by your layout. I'm not a steam buff by any stretch of the imagination but I do love your layout and the work you are doing. The bridge is fab! Susannah
looks great tony, i have a scaledale single line girder bridge and yours looks more realistic, will be using a few of your ideas there on a rather large bridge section im looking at doing myself, only difference is, it is supposed to be a poured concrete curved bridge or should i say viaduct to be technically correct im doing, ha ha
cheers Bri I have used a few kit bridge panels on some of the bridges. but the size of the bridge I have just done needed to built from scratch. you could make a great viaduct using 3mm plywood it does bend easy.....................regards Tony
hi Dave I have used a white paint marker in the past with a straight edge to do the white lines. I hav'nt done any linning yet, on the layout.....................Tony
