my friend used to call me crazy for my theory that the glados body was just corrupted in some way. When glados is in it, she calls chell fat and adopted, yada yada, but in the potato, she's just like wheatley, reneging on the insults she felt obligated to throw before. Maybe it's literally just the "god complex" but... idk it seems genuine here, not from a point of weakness.
Bruv, the theory is right, when she is in the potato form she becomes nicer and more self aware, even at the end of the game she say's to you that she is scared as her thoughts are thought and in the voice of herself
Wheatly becomes evil because of the power he waisted not time in abusing it, because thats what a COWARD put into a position of power does. PotatOS is nicer than GLaDOS because she recovered the the Carolyn part of her memories, and Carolyn was actually nice. In addition to that, she IS a potato so we can easily get rid of her at any moment
@@Snt1_ nahhh I'm sure power plays some part in it, but if it's just about the power and "finding carolyn", why would glados let you leave after killing her? Carolyn was always there, and she cannot delete carolyn without deleting herself. No more than the giant Cave Johnson head could in the deck game. Maybe all the time chell's been in stasis made her forget her original identity, or the insanity of the robot body. (fun fact, cave johnson also goes crazy once in a robot body and kills the scientists helping him. The grey area of imperfect technology.) He had power before and after, but he never went on killing rampages as a human, nor would carolyn, or wheatley.

Carolyn "Was there" but for all intents and purposes, she wasnt "activated". In a blind rage, Carolyn was lost and replaced with murderous intent. Not only releases you, but has the turrets perform an opera for you, saying "I love you my beautiful child" in italian? Then in addition, send you off with your companion cube teddy bear to keep you safe, which she plucked sentimentally out from an incinerator? Doesn't make any sense. She's 100% acting. I think maybe in the potato form, she realizes she's carolyn like you said, then also realizes that chell is her old daughter. I guess when you're power crazy, you want what you want, and sacrifice everything else. You can kill 1000 scientists, but killing your family would mean giving up something you value, which doesn't actually conflict with the "power crazed" theory.
