Same. How can Alex be responsible for the acts of the others? Someone did deface a grave, many people harassed the parents. But I'm just asking 'cause There's literally no evidence showing that Alex told his audience to engage in that lawlessness. In American law, you're guilty of inciting violence if you actually tell people to commit crimes it. Saying the election is stolen over and over again, doesn't mean break into the capitol. Saying we're going to march down to the Capitol to peacefully and patriotically make our voices heard isn't. However, saying "were going to break into the capitol, and stop their whole process" is Incitement of violence.

Lmao what are you talking about, Andrew is a terrible interviewer that just choses interviewees that are willing to go off on mic. The whole concept of his channel is going to events where people are just glad to have a camera in front of them and are looking to make an impression. His channel is entertaining for sure, but Andrew himself is super heavy handed. For what it's worth all of these serious videos have a massive political slant, which inherently makes the vid less interesting. Not saying I support Alex Jones, but if you go interview the "evil conservative news guy" and edit it so that it emphasizes that he's an "evil conservative news guy" we don't learn anything new or interesting. It's just beating a dead horse. Again, Andrew's acumen is in finding entertaining people and events, but his interviewing is ass.

I have mad respect for Alex, but xqc is 100% correct about social media being private companies. The problem is not erasure of the first amendment, the problem is a small handful of platforms completely control the exchange of words and ideas online, and most of them are run by the same people.
You're just blatantly wrong. 1 they're public companies, hence anyone can buy ownership in them and 2 they have become so large that they are now seen as a "public square" of opinions. Censoring speech on these platforms can favor a type of ideology/agenda they want to push to the general public. You're not actually that ignorant, are you? Take the blinders off bud.

Not only that, but when there are only 5 or so major platforms then these companies now have a monopoly on speech and it’s never good for anyone to have a monopoly on anything. Then when you get banned for arbitrary reasons, you now have no outlet to exercise your right to free speech. I just think these companies should be held to higher standards when they have become the only places in the world for people to communicate.

The private company argument is fine if they're a curated newspaper or blog, but if you are a platform where individuals self publish (information(may be videos, music any sort of creation)) such as a social media platform you cannot curate information other than ILLEGAL information such as CP, Direct Threats, or confidential information.
If you want the protections of being a platform you shpuld act as one. Because of the influence and size of modern social media companies they act as the pseudo-public square. If what you say is illegal in the US (not anywhere else as they are US companies) , then they may deplatform you. For the same reason as why you would not want somebody like Alex Jones to deplatform you if he had was in power.

Not once did the Sandy Hook parents give proof, like a quote from Alex showing that Alex told his audience to do those acts or his bidding. Like I said, he just had crazy ideologies, yet never told anyone to commit violent acts.
By law, and by logic, there is no such thing as a person inciting violence just because some people take your words as gospel and influence and do crazy acts.
The criminal law requires that you actually encourage violence. Like saying "burn that house down".
If X's logic were true many people would be in jail for "Incitement" or "encouraging acts".
For example, could I sue XQC for encouraging me to gamble??? He's influential, he shows that gambling is fun, he caused me to be broke. He never told me to gamble, I decided to gamble, is he to blame or am I? Same thing, Alex didn't encourage violence, hey some crazy people did crazy shit. His words never hinted at being violent.
AJ's trial wasn't a criminal trial, it was a civil trial and the jury, fueled by bias, pushed an insane punishment. 45 million yet no documents proving that they actually suffered a 45 million dollar loss. They used the acts of others against Alex. This should be appealed.
Defamation requires proving real, actual, tangible damages, the Sandy Hook parents alleged that they needed to pay for private security, paying for various expenses. But then again, looking at Alex's defamatory statements, he never encouraged violence. He never said "hey go harass them". He just had crazy theories.
That's my fucking problem with this trial. This trial only shows that if you have a wildly unpopular opinion and if many people hate you, you're life can easily be screwed up. Just because some other people did thjngs in your name when you never told them to do anything.
