It was first "created" by a guy memeing on emo kids dancing on vine and twitter. Roy popularized it, but all of that happened before people even knew wtf fortnite was let alone when they did that emote challenge. With that being said credit doesn't belong to one set person, but definitely not "orange shirt kid"

I always love Roy's videos and go back and watch them again from time to time. He's a hugely talented dude and was actually a very good skateboarder (watch his video skating in China), but he obviously got tired of the RUclips grind and all the fame. Hopefully he's enjoying the break and working on music and comes back big at some point. If not, hope he has a great life.

Like X said, sounds like most of it is just normal growing up. There probably is a little bit of personal struggles and stuff too, since he probably already made a ton of money and now probably seems kinda aimless and doesnt know what to do about his life, which is probably why he seems like he's feeling down.
I think it's the opposite, his goal was to be a skater/music artist and he knew he needed a platform to raise funds for his future career so he built the mainstream brand, cashed out and then when he was ready he ditched it completely to focus on his first main goal.
The social media fame was just a side quest in his life.
He probably wasn't all that happy either btw.

Roy Purdy did create the Orange Justice. Go to his video "ashjd;jwa'flsdghkfa;hdljx” that was posted in September of 2017, he does the dance.
The orange shirt Fortnite kid didn’t do the dance until April 2018. So, yes Roy Purdy did it first.
It's kind of a simular sitiatuion with Michael Jackson and the Moonwalk. Michael didn’t create it, he was taught it by Jeffrey Daniel. Jeffrey was not the creator either, the earliest known person to do the moonwalk was Bill Bailey.
Not created, there are vines that predate the dance and the original I believe comes from those weird goth rave circles you'd see in parking lots and under bridges. Origin could be as old as 1990s if I had to guess.

he just grew up and decided that dressing in neon colours while dancing and putting on a happy and positive persona for his brand while he's probably going through tough times is not something that anyone would want to do for the rest of their life, it's not that deep, accept change

Neither Roy purdy nor Orange shirt kid made the dance move, it existed before but Roy popularized it and somewhat made it his own

Did it for 4 years and only landed the easy stuff, even shit like kickflip has a high fail rate, even if you are practicing dayli.

I live down the street from Roy, he moved back into his parents house in Wisconsin after he could not afford to live in LA anymore. It sucks that he could not hold his success and did not have the income to support himself any longer.

I live in the city from where roy is from, and I go to the school he went to. He is not back here. He is nowhere close. He is still in Cali. If he were still here, I would know. Because I have a few friends that live in his old neighborhood and know his family.

I watched Roy purdy because he had confidence. I had no friends at the time and I wanted to be able to show people who I was. Watching him made me realize that he’s who I wanted to be. Pretty much the typical popular kid in highschool. I’m in college now and I’m okay with who I am. Wouldn’t change anything
