Summary:
This is very nice quality and contains the complete performance without any significant flaws. I thoroughly enjoyed this, as he has a terrific band on board and does material from throughout his career, including songs from his years in The Youngbloods and a rare pre-Youngbloods song from his Greenwich Village folkie days in the early 1960s (Walking Off My Blues). He also does a sweet medley of Marvin Gaye's "Whats Going On" and "Mercy Mercy Me."
One of Jessie’s Best Songs❣️I sing it every day to my husband in heaven 😇. Mahalo Nui Loa Jessie for blessing us with such beautiful music 🎶🎸🎼🎤🌺
That is a beautiful thing to do, Pud. Some day you will see him again and dance with him to this beautiful song. This song is in a great movie called “Walk on the Moon.” You should check it out. ❤❤
Sincere thanks for posting this. The quality of this recording does come across surprisingly well, even on my cheap-o Sony MDR-ZX100 headphones! Jesse Colin Young and Kenny Rankin both occupy a unique part of the musical universe and it’s great to find their live performances on youtube.
That mind blowing tenor belongs to one of the greatest singers of all time , sadly undervalued , wrote and sang over a dozen of the most beautiful songs ever writen like 'Darkness ,Darkness' , I Can Tell, Country Home ,Ride The Wind, Sunlight and Josianne to name a few.
One of the most romantic songs ever.
August 1974 - heard Jesse Colin Young for the very first time as a 14 year old. His voice touched my soul. Saw him many years later again in Norfolk (Waterside) and actually had an opportunity to met him. Such talent doesn't come along very often and I am grateful I've had the opportunity to enjoy it!
That flute and the voice go SO together. velvety! Thank you!
the late Jim Rothermal. Played alto & tenor sax in Jesse's band throughout the 70s. Check out his 🎷 on "Ridgetop"
I was asked recently online who was the best singer in the 70's, no question in my mind it was Jesse Colin Young. This song highlights his great voice. He was so underrated, never got the credit he deserved! Rod Stewart, Mick Jagger, they were good, but nobody could sing like Jesse.
WORD. I couldn't, not even possibly agree w/you more !!!
Top ten favorite song in my 70’s forever heart 💜
I learned this one when Three Dog Night recorded it. This is such a charming arrangement and the flute, oh Lordy so nice.
marvelous so perfect! my fav way back then😘
i havent finished yet, a-n-d just about my favourite singer/song writer of ALL TIME!!! Wahooo! go jesse!!!
Sweet music...very soulful
One of my favourite live performances ever! The song is so beautiful.
this song leaves me speechless, one of the best ever singer/musicians/lyricist. I just wish kids from these days would listen to him
the late, great Jim Rothermel on flute.
Love this so much. He is back touring. Please support Live Music!
Love him too.
Just so beautiful.
Those were the days...
This is magnificent.
Great live version, healing and happy vibe, luv it! :)
Perfect timeless tune.

My sister and I wrote the chorus for Get together come on people now smile on your brother try and love everybody right now 1966
Written by Chet Powers, recorded by the Kingston Trio in 1964.
yup, david Crosby demoed it in 1964 as well.
Fabulous !! ♥️
One of the best choruses ever! Great work!
Chet Powers better known as Dino Valenti. Best remembered today for his work with Quicksilver Messenger Service, he was an iconic singer and guitarist in the early Sixties Greenwich Village community who helped set a trend by relocating to California and transitioning to electric guitar, and ultimately to rock.
Amazing artist.......❤
Any recordings of Celebrity theater in Phoenix Az ?
The flautist needs to lay back - he's too busy and detracts from the performance, which is otherwise wonderful.
The flute player is so great in this song, this was such a great band. Jesse had the best voice, I totally agree with others.
So Beautiful ❤
top shelf !!!
talented singer and songwriter
Been to the Capital Theater in the late 60's!
We went backstage at this gig
🌄One of my all time favorites. 💞 Such hi vibe perfection ✨ 💕 💛
Too much flute but it still is a beautiful song.
