some beach somewhere I'll be sitting listening to this song over and over and over again and thinking of that first French Kiss I ever had in my life didn't even know how to return it and she said aren't you going to kiss me back I said I don't know how!!!
the song I heard the first time after I had been on a double date with my cousin who is much older and his girlfriend and her cousin . we're in the back seat and somewhere the course of the evening she french kissed me which I had never experienced in my life . and she said aren't you going to kiss me back and I said I don't know how ! that was as far as it went and the next day maybe even that night I heard this song by Jesse Colin Young. I did but I am not sure even that I got his name right but I will tell you this is that song with the first song I heard after that girl kiss me and my gosh it devastated me is floored me and it told me things I didn't know that I didn't know . French kissing I hadn't even heard of it ! God damn I sure did learn quick . but you know what now I don't do that to trying to kissing any more what I do when I kiss a woman will drive her insane and we will be in bed very quickly if I did kiss her the way I kiss a woman there's no doubt about that I do not do any spelunking again I think that's just crude kisses I give a woman with my tongue on her lips and I know the last time I ever kissed a woman like that we ended up in bed within like 20 minutes . I'm not so much interested in the bed part of it I honestly it's just that kissing my way it just ends up that way they did end up being there I don't mess up my purpose but when I kissed a woman my way well that's where we're going to end up and it won't be me it'll be her decision the song to find me because of that was the first kiss I ever had who I know it wasn't quite the first one but it was the first passionate kiss I ever encountered in my life and this song defines that moment that's the way she feels about you
Sweet music memories of being a peaceful little hippie baby around my horses to now still peaceful &a happy young lady, thanks to beautiful sweet tunes like this one 🎸💫z
Been too damn long Jesse, will Never-Ever Forget the Great Times with brother Billy G. at Fillmore West San Francisco, back-stage with you guy's get'in high, feel'in groovy and hang'in-out after the Set, till the sun came-up. Wow! What great times it was then with our cool stache's, lamb-chop sideburns, and long hair. Now it's receeding hair and glasses. Oh well, still feel'in groovy, cool, peace & love. See You Real Soon in South Carolina.
this song a!ways makes my heart explode! one time when I was much younger my friends older brother sang this into his girlfriend's ear right before church services were to start, I was sitting behind them. I thought that was the cat's pajamas!
you know what? There are just some things in your life that are defining moments that kiss from that girl I didn't even know was one of those defining moments and the next day hearing this song it was one of the most defining moments I think I've ever had I couldn't find the song again for 20 or 30 years and now I know who it was that sang it and now I can hear it again and I think I will just put it on when I go to sleep and listen to it again and again and again because it will remind me that beautiful young lady I was probably only about 16 or 17 I have no earthly idea how old I was I only know this I was old enough to regret that I didn't know how to kiss her back and her front and her bottom and her top and everything else that was kissable I didn't know where any of that stuff was ! but I will never ever ever ever forget that night that my cousin took me on a double date with his girlfriend and her niece or whoever this girl I don't even know her name ! I do know that would that I wrote her once or twice and I do know that I was in high school at the time that's all I can remember because I stupidly spoke of a girl in my homeroom that I kind of had a crush on that was a dumbest thing I ever did and I think that pretty much diffused any chances that there would be a repeat of the most amazing and memorable kiss I ever had . I will tell you about the first kiss I ever had then I'll make it short I was in the eighth grade and in our eighth grade classroom we had a new new girl come in and she was Cuban while she was a Cuban Refugee I only now know that she was there a Jewish Cuban Refugee not that it makes any difference but I something I discovered what I try to find her again but she came in she sang a song Acapella to the whole class as hurt way up introducing herself I will tell you her name because it's not her name now if her name was Dora estorino . I have no idea about the spelling but I will tell you she was voted the most beautiful girl in the school classroom of in my 8th grade school classroom and I was voted the cutest guy not the handsomest just the cutest and someday one day somebody asked me in here do you think do you like the most I said well the Dora Dora story. I think she's beautiful well that assholes went and told her and I know. Let me just say this it was a very short romance it only lasted to the end of the eighth grade and we went to a park and we walked around all day in the park holding hands and she wanted to kiss me but I was embarrassing shopping and I didn't I didn't know what to say so after 2 hours I finally wore down and I said okay fine. I just what she kiss me no different than the way my mother would have kissed me and that's what my mother asked me to do she said kiss me the way you Dora and I did I guess you're just like I would guess my mom any other time in a little peck on the lips oh, but that was my first kiss ever and my second kiss ever was through the girl who inspired me to open the song that's the way she feels about you I own that song out because I said she owns me and if I ever find her again I will finally know how to kiss her back
RebeccaEmily, that's a good title for this video, 'cuz I bet alot of people know those words, but not necessarily the actual title of this song, 'Sunlight'. I first heard this song on a 3 Dog Night album. Just loved it!
no it' not you In my opinion with some exceptions there' not too much new music that's worth listening to especially if you like rock & rock - as Paula Cole said " Where have all the cowboys gone? lol
I agree, but for me, it is more toward 40 yrs. I was telling my son that I have been listening to Sgt. Pepper for about 43 yrs. and still love it. Ah, to be young again with your whole future in front of you. Makes me a little meloncoly this song. Peace.
Back in the day we knew there was evil in the world and we were outspokenly against it. But we had one another and this music to spread the love movement. The love movement almost won till the greed took over. And our world has become a much more evil and dangerous place
I can remember hearing this song and "Darkness Darkness" over & over again freshman year of college & listening to Song for JuliI . Great album .. hesitation stockings..hesitating shoes...
my kids listen to my music .. now cause the realized one day they had their radio station i was singing a song they liked how do u know that song? it's tom petty they sampled it funny had to break out my vinyl now it all priceless. the vinlyl im still a fuddy duddy
Let's see - I thought I'd be married in Italy in 2015 - reply "not so much now" 2016 - I would have probably liked this song then - "not so much now" - 2018 -

I bought the album "Song for Juli" a thousand years ago but when vinyl was replaced with digital I, well, I don't know but I seem to have let Jesse fall through a crack. In the last month I rediscovered him. It's so much nicer to listen to his music now that I'm "mature" enough to understand it. Now I just have to figure out how to buy and download all of this for my 'nano'. His voice is like mossy honey ... and that's the way I feel about ...! have a great day everyone!
Thanks for posting. "If you wake up screaming, scared about what you're dreaming" has been bouncing around in my head for at least 2 weeks now. Thanks for the cure!
The north rock festivals often included The Youngbloods. Beautiful sunny afternoon at the Seattle Pop Festival in Aug 1969 listening to Ike and Tina, It's a Beautiful Day, Chicago Transit Authority, The Youngbloods, Flying Burrito Bros, followed by Led Zeppelin and The Doors.....what could compare

Reminds me of a summer day on a blanket at memorial Park in Houston with my girlfriend that I loved.
Even Dan Fogelberg dug Jesse's music and recorded a couple from his catalog!!!

I've been looking for this song for a very long time. It's beautiful.
Is it me, or did those days have more singers with a unique (meaning one of kind) voice than these days?
Yes!
