I must not let my guitar see this video.
Ha ha ha
What do you think it will do
I showed mine on accident. He said he can do better and walked out the house.
@@cjgreen4331 lol
😂😂😂
Martin Taylor...a guy so talented, two guitar companies picked their names because of him.
haha
Nice one!
👍🏼😆
It's like if a pianist was named Steinway Yamaha.
@@exerciserelax8719 Actually it was their orignal sales slogan. "Yamaha. Built The Stein Way." =)
This performance is truly outstanding. Most guitarists could not write as good as these two are improvising.
Dude Julian Lage’s solo is pure MASTERY! it has everything. It’s from a place of pure joy and love for the music, with the addition of perfect time, harmony, concept, idea building, melody, rhythm, everything! Ugh!! I bow to you sir 🙇
This video is some of the hardest proof I've ever seen that music is a language. These two are literally talking back and forth to each other with guitars. If anyone liked this video and hasn't seen Julian Lage live I would highly recommend seeing him. The whole show is so full of this same kind of playful energy between he and the people he is playing with.
ALTHOUGH AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT STYLE OF MUSIC Yamandu Costa AND Elodie Bouny ARE TWO OF MY VERY FAVORITES: ruclips.net/video/_-noAWfVpoc/видео.html
Julian- Plays something good
Martin- Plays something good
*They look into each others souls and giggle like little school boys*
These dudes just transported themselves into a dimension which all the youtubers dream of.
Agreed. Martin Taylor and Tommy Emmanuel playing Honeysuckle Rose - same thing. Like a couple kids playing that long slow bend - Django lick. Martin is reserved, Tommy is a spaz. It totally works. Similar vibe here.
Only if the other player was Beyonce or Kate Upton.
Yes!
Amen
speak for yourself. I play on this level. Many do. Don’t try to put all of us down because you can’t!
Makes me want to be a guitar
*gets slammed against the floor by a rock star*
"Play me like one of your guitars"
Makes me want to throw mine away.
I’m sure they will finger style you pretty good
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHU
Maybe all the musicians from their planet play like that!
I love how much joy Julian gets from the music. Truly inspiring
yeah, what a spirit. in love with that...
I love it when Martin says, "Play some more."
This is one of the best things on the internet
joe pass lives on thru these great players
See a bit of Jim Hall in Julian now that he says he's a diehard Evans fan hehe
He sure does.
1610austin that was my IMMEDIATE reaction in the first 3 seconds...These two students get a Pass.
@@1Ma9iN8tive lol clever.
I watched this thousand times... this is pure music
Filip Fiebiger me too!
Me too Filip. Watched your JP version of 'When You Wish' a few times too : )
ㄹㅇㅋㅋ
First time I saw this, I wasn't really impressed but 5 years later, I think this is probably one of the best spontaneous musical performances I have ever seen. A masterclass in fluidity, subtlety and nuance. I hope maybe 5 years from now, I will be able to play like this by rote and 10-20 years after that, maybe improvise along these lines as well.
This rendition to me sounds more of old friends reminiscing. Speaking about memories and what the future may hold.
Can't stop smiling!
Goosebumps. I love great musicians who smile as they play. What a treat
My God, this is what real music is. Anyone notice how they complemented each other so well? It just melted together beautifully. No words needed.
The stuff Julian comes up with really elevates him from so many other great players. His melodic lines are just soo good.
i have never seen someone play with such tremendous mastery yet he is constantly taking chamces and is seemingly as amazed by what he is able to do as we are
@@timetherton5620 JL isn’t hardly taking any chances as every molecule in his brains and hands is completely prepared on everything possible on 10 levels but he tries to surprise himself just for the giggles which is just as admirable
Pure Joy! Julian is so at ease, so playful, with this tune. No wonder, it’s the 1st song he played with Martin Taylor. When he was 10 or 11, “I’m a big Bill Evans fan”!!!
I'm not a guitarist, but I'm damned happy I landed on this channel. I came across Martin, sound-wise- through a record of French music with the late Marcel Azzolla. I'm sure Martin remembers this album. The French "Valse swingue" or "Valse Musette" are a different, but very rich, approach to that rare bird in Jazz- the WALTZ. It's been a joy to discover this young talent, Julian Lage. Thank you for posting.
Martin Taylor smashes on this To me he is One if not the Greatest Chord Melody player to me. And his instructional videos are superb.
Does it get any better than this in a guitar duo? They are both such masters of their craft and even more importantly thoroughly enjoy and respect each other. Inspiring!
I come back to this video like every 3 months.
same it instantly gives me all the inspiration I need to keep practicing
it was a very good idea to put Julian to play with Martin!
Such beautiful playing. Especially love Julian's lines.
This truly brought tears to my eyes... Such beauty!
What a two great guitar players!! Just beautiful!
Two hearts beating as one. Oh, joy!
A while back, I saw Julian live with Chris Eldridge. It was one of the best concerts that I've ever been to... just beautiful.
The moment and voicing at 3:41 is honestly so pure, fantastic.
That was some of the most joyful music I've ever heard. Love Julian and he and Martin play together so well. Fantastic.
That is incredibly good!!! Such a joy to watch!
Puts a big smile on my face. The interplay of these two masters is so impressive.
How can you not smile along with these guys--especially Julian! I'm in love with watching him play.
Just found Julian. I don't have the words. How can there not be millions of viewers and likes? No show. No egos. I am stunned and thrilled to have discovered these amazing artists and music.
Me too. He's wonderful!
So much joy in their playing :')
Chills, chills, so many chills. Great work by two legends. Damn, just amazing.
what a tone, dynamic control and timbre variety! great
You can't get any better than that in music. This is music and interconnection. What a blast..
I keep coming back here- my God, how masterful! You can’t help but smile at their communication with each other!
Such a lovely duet of brilliant minds...
mesmerizing intervallic mastery stupendously deep and intimate vocal lines and spellbinding harmonies - stunning
What a treat to see these two guys jamming out Some Day My Prince Will Come. Fantastic and beautiful.
Stunning!!! Perhaps the most beautiful duet I’ve ever heard, just a lovely connection💙
This is amazing and inspirational to watch, plain and simple. You can really feel the great chemistry and attention to the groove and details.
legend has it that martin founded both martin and taylor
lol
Absolutely fabulous... breathtaking... can't stop smiling...
Seeing them like this makes me realise that music is the greatest tool for sharing happiness.
Julian is so musical, I really enjoy his playing
Amazing artists- wonderful sound!
Gorgeous ... such wonderful interaction and musicality! Very inspiring.
This some great melodic playing great chord comping, this is jazz heaven. Martin Taylor and Julian Lage are masters.
Two absolutely incredible guitarists.....they're not leaving much for anybody else!!
One of my favorite performances.
Wow! What a performance!
excellent musicianship .... good musical camaraderie ..... thanks you for providing us with beautiful music ....
Well that was just the most lovely thing! Gosh I'm so pleased to see someone like Julian with his heart right smack on his sleeve, and looks like he's not losing that with either age or success. Very inspiring.
I live for this, I need them doing more of these together
Looked at my jazz box smiled and said you look great right on the wall.
My two favourite jazz guitarists of this era, together. Stellar!
beautiful !!
My body doesn't want to breath listening to this I might miss a note. Julian is sooooooo charming help.
Absolutely breathtaking! It's like they are speaking to each other in the most beautiful language I've ever heard 🎸🙌
Amazing the two of you! This is definitely the fine art of excellent music. LOVE IT! Thanks for sharing!
OMG it's killing me. Julian is such an incredible musician, damn.
VERY NICE! I love the way they listen and offer something and visa versa. Like Pass and Ellis or Atkins and Breau playing wonderfully together.
how can guitarists this good even exist?
Amazing playing. Martin's guitar sounds so much more rich to my ears.
The way Julian watches Martin play in awe, then plays something over the top, equally as awe inspiring...
Beautiful! True artist at work and play so well together!

Every time I manage to figure out a part of what Juilian does in his improv I instantly smile because I understand how well thought and gentel that part is
I’ve been playing for most of my life and this is still the best recording I have ever heard. I come back to it at least twice a year and it inspires me and makes me feel a deep awe and appreciation for the instrument we all love and for these legendary musicians.
i like their ideas especially keeping tine together, changing the feel together, complimenting each other
Julian is amazing.. I would buy their album ...I hope it’s in the works . Martin Taylor , career is quite epic. So so cool. Thank you for posting
He's found the most wodnerful combination of Jazz and Classical
Once you get over the solos then listen again to the comping underneath. Just as brilliant. Astonishing. Probably the finest moment in jazz guitar history in my opinion.
two geniuses having fun!
How can anyone not love this !!! Wonderful.
This kind of talent does not occur to you often and when it does in a painting you have a Masterpiece! Clearly, Julian also has a beautiful perspective on life.
Thank you so much for this. It restored a bit of my faith in humanity.
this truly is ground breaking guitar playing..
Wow, such mastery of their instruments. It's a wonder to behold.
just awesome and melodic. Love these two.
Simply wonderful musicians playing awesome American music!
Beautiful communication... great to see and hear ....
There's nothing better than playing with another guitarist that truly respects and understands the nature of the instrument and all the capacities of the many roles it can fulfill... I've done it with my teachers and mentors who have helped me to build these understandings and these times have taught me invaluable lessons of being sensitive to what the other is playing at all times, and these are two masters of the art of playing this beautiful instrument that we all love, and a video like this could serve as a master class in jazz guitar duet. Wonderful!
Both great players- there's so much hype about Julian lage and he lives up to it, but people don't listen with their ears. This is not a situation where Martin taylor is lucky to be playing with Julian or where either player should be intimidated by the other, Martin Taylor is a monster player but both these guys are playing musically, not just technically and athletically. If you think Martin Taylor is the b side here go and do you research! BOTH awesome players, period!!!
Julian has perfect pitch and Martin doesn't...that's the only difference which drives some of what they play. SOME is key!
Julian doesn't have perfect pitch...he said so himself.
This is just two masters being masterful. No other way to describe it.
@@travelingman9763 haha. That's gold
If anybody thinks Martin is the b side ....they are not and never will be musicians...real music is not like that !!!!!!!
you guys wipe out my trouble and worries. It's great. Thank you!
OMG! Here we are far beyond music... those two geniuses are simply creating a dream...
It just doesn't get any better than this guys. Two monster musicians.
I love his enthusiasm
Wspaniali muzycy "bawią się" wspaniałą muzyką. Cudowne!!!
this was such a delicious jam!! I would spread this on my bread every day! I love this conversational style of playing where the two musicians just pick up from one another... Awesome :)
This is an absolute masterpiece omg
these guys are phenomenal!!!! a joy to watch!!!!
Out of this fu....g world...pure joy to listen to and watch.
Words fail. The most beautiful improvising I think I have ever heard.
You guys are so awesome. You put a smile on my face.
Thanks for posting! ❤
