I played Efren in 2017 and he kicked my butt. I have never had more fun playing pool than that night. He is the GOAT!

At least when we play him we can relax in our chair. 😏

I could be wrong but I think efron misses on purpose sometimes to give the other player a better chance.
Dude I've thought the same thing for yrs! But then I take into consideration the fact that could also b a little insulting too. I don't believe Efren would ever mean it that way. But u know that cue shark would b furious (well, Efren furios...which is like a frown...lol) if he felt someone was maybe going easy on him or something. And 1 other thing Ive thought was...each and every 1 of us who play the game would wait in Line for hrs just to loose to the great master of masters. So while of course a loss isn't usually a fun time. Who could blame ANYONE in the world if they lost the Efren friggin Reyes! Lol

I've seen him intentionally miss shots when playing amateur women and children. But not against other pro players, whether man or woman.
Tuning in from the 416 here in Toronto. Just love to watch THE GOAT roll through racks as if it's practice session, even though it may be a big tournament. Even at his age he's a force to contend with on the pool table. When he's on his game it's pretty damned hard to beat him. Hope he plays into his 80s. Such a CLASS ACT TOO!!! I always enjoy watching your videos of Efren Reyes. When you said he was 68 years old, it got me wondering when this was - and how old he is now. So I did a quick Google and learned that he and I were born on the same day, exactly one year apart. Sadly, that is the only thing I share with him! Love to watch him play. Efren has been an inspiration, not for the money but for the daredevil shots he’s shown the world it could be done!! In my case, from zero to a decent player, I owe him a lot! Watching his games and how he executed the shots, kept me going and improving in ways no one else really could, unless I would’ve paid thousands of dollars to achieve! This channel is one of the two I keep coming back to as it has the same game as others but the commentator just make that much difference, thank you! I subscribed first time and no regrets! He even heard when I mentioned that those memes should be used with moderation not to make it too repetitive, and he did it! Keep up with this great channel as great people will keep coming!!!
Great video, I lived in Subic Bay for 8yrs and moved back to Canada 8yrs ago. I've met Efren a couple of times and he's just a gentleman.
Canada tuning in. While the British and Americans dominated most billiard Tournaments in my time, here came Efren Freaking Reyes. The 80s and 90s would televise snooker for the most part until 9ball and pocket billiards phenom Reyes set a new standard. He changed my game. I’ve been fortunate to witness his greatness throughout the decades during his rise and in his prime. He’s still amazing. Txs for still showcasing this legend.
I am a fan of this humble man. You can see many videos of him playing with small town residents as he probably started his career. I can watch any of his games as it keeps you at "the edge". Yes he is the Pool GOAT!

Mr Efren Reyes was a masterful CHOREOGRAPHER of this game as shown to the chances he gave to his opponent and the TRICK SHOT he did on the 9-ball in the final rack.

He does appear at 68 to still play bc he loves the game, not for the love of money…. There are very few athletes they play their respective sport like they were still a kid playing the same sport….. at 68 he still plays that way

I totally enjoy watching Efren when he plays Earl Strickland and kicks his ass! He's the only guy I love to see lose ! Mr. Attitude! The ironic thing is that he's a very talented pool player and doesn't need to act like an amateur! I enjoy watching everyone else playing. Efren is a good watch and now I'm neutral. I'm in Montana and I watch every video with Efren in it. Him and Ronny are the two best players in the world. I shoot a fair stick but nothing like Efren. He is a joy to watch so please keep 'em coming.
I was never more than a young duffer at this game, even though I enjoyed it. But Efron intrigues me. There is something about this affable, pleasant master of masters that make me watch him. It's not just the amazing shots; it's the man himself. Not sure where the sobriquet GOAT came from, but to me he's best I've ever seen.
He truly has God in his life and it shows in everything he says and does. That's what God does for anyone...makes them extraordinary!

The man is a pool god!!!!! He has two forms of play, clearing the table and a teaching opportunity for the kids. You can tell when Mr. Reyes is going to clear the table or give the kid a chance by simply watching the cue ball. To clear the table, He will put the cue ball exactly where he wants it for each shot, close and tight. When he's "missing on purpose" to give the kids a chance, he will put the number ball next to or behind another ball and then he will leave the cue ball elsewhere on the opposite side of the table to help teach them their geometry. The young people can shoot straight balls but can't bank off the rails at all. If they do bank, it was just a lucky shot if it drops. He will also NEVER embarrass a player beating them 9-0. He will ALWAYS give them games to encourage them to keep trying. It also creates suspense for the audience. Who will be the player to win?????

You could tell this was all play for him. He took it serious when he needed, but he allowed the man’s confidence to be built up. That’s what great players do.
I was playing 8 ball once in a tournament. I cleared my rack, and was on the 8 ball. The only way I could hit it to go in was off the other player’s striped ball. In this tournament, if you missed the 8 ball, the other player got bih. I called it, told him what I had to do, he said just shoot the ball. The ref said I could shoot at it, but if I didn’t make it, the other guy got bih. I shot nicked his striped ball, and instantly the ref called foul and awarded the win to his Buddy.

It seems everyone forgets that at 68 years old, Efren has 63+ years of experience playing a LOT of games, of various types - 8,9,10 ball, rotation straight pool, carom, bank,one pocket,etc and that adds up to seeing the same shots many times. He most definitely has a mind for pool. To play a game with him would be an honor for sure. MASTER GOAT!!!
