@@vikkismith7964 Man upon research i found out that it did not come with a built in tuner ,, My Panasonic had a built in tuner ,, In the future if u get one make sure it comes with a tuner built in already or u will have to get a external tuner ,, Amazon has types of external turners as well as ebay n etc ,,,,just a extra hassle ,,I rather just get one with a built in tuner already. I had recently fixed my Panasonic one and sent the other back for a refund.

Been awhile since I used mine. The VCR part broke. So, I had been dubbing from a separate VCR into the Toshiba recorder. I tried using a blank DVD-R and I can't get the machine to recognize it. I can't even select the SP. SLP, etc settings. However, it WILL work using a DVD-RW, I can do everything on it. I used to be able to use my preferred DVD-R's. Any ideas what to do? Remember, I don't push DUB because I am not using the built-in VCR. Pushing the Record button doesn't do anything. TIA.
QEUSTION FOR YOU SPENCER, you used a DVD-R to record to in this video but this particular Toshiba will record with both DVD-R and DVD+R so my question is why did you use a DVD-R disc to record to instead of a DVD+R disc?? and is there a difference between using either disc to record onto?? thanks and i look forward to your reply, Jerry

I am trying to copy a VHS tape to a DVD and I lost my manual. Pushing DUBBING is what records to the DVD and not the RECORD button? I do not want to damage my VHS original. I used to know how to do all this from repetition but it has been a long time. What does the DMHI cable need to attach too ?
I’m hoping you could help me out. I found one of these at an estate sale and it was new inbox. Even the batteries still in their plastic were there. The first thing I did was hook this up to my computer using a few wires, I bought five years ago. I was able to see the VHS tape playing on my computer and using QuickTime, I was able to record it, but the quality was not very good. I discovered the HDMI output in back and attached it to a television from 2018. When I play a DVD I can see it on the television. But, when I play VHS tape, I cannot see it on the television, although it is playing as far as the counter is concerned. also, regardless of whether I’m connected to my computer or the television, when I use the dubbing feature, I get a red circle with a line through it meaning that I can’t record onto the DVD. I’m really hoping you could help me out I have a lot of old videos that I’d like to get in the highest possible quality onto a DVD. I bought 100 of them! thank you very very much.

Is it a combo recorder? Both vcr and DVD side by side in same unit? Make sure it's a DVD Recorder not just Player. Transfer everything using one box. Look for Anthony Wheeler on RUclips.

@@shintucheeran8595 This VCR won't play PAL tapes, that Samsung at the link I just sent is the only one that will play those tapes. If you want to transfer them to DVD, you will need to buy a seperate DVD recorder.
I have the Toshiba dvd/vcr D-VR610. At the moment, I don't need to record anything to a disk, but I do need to use VCR playback. When I put in a disk and play, it does not work. The DVD player works just fine and the VCR does rewind and fast forward, just can't get it to play. Any ideas how to fix this? The manual I found online doesn't really address VCR playback trouble shooting.
I’ve had four of these. They are crap. Lots of problems with VCR side and no support. Each one lasted a short while. All started with VCR side just playing audio with no picture, then progressed to spitting out the tape, etc. on, and on. I took one to Goodwill, threw one away, then someone who had a working one gave it to me. It quit almost immediately. Now my parents have passed and I have some old videos to transfer so I got suckered into buying one again. I played it for about 2 months before leaving my home for a time and didn’t use it again until after the warranty had run out. I took for granted it would work correctly; hardly used, right? Before trying to use it, I spoke with someone at Best Buy who had me buy a Roxie VHS to DVD 3 Plus for $40 which was to make it easier and better quality. Excited, I got my tapes together, and voila. It would only play sound and no picture on the VCR side. Nobody works on these anymore in my area. Toshiba has no support. Determined to do this and not waste any more money on one of these, I went to RUclips for FIY. By this time, it was not accepting the tape, just spitting it out. Last night, I followed the steps and got it fixed except for a distorted picture. At midnight, I decided to work on the picture this morning. Came up and started it, and it played with the distorted picture the first time. Then I found a solution on RUclips. Before I could even try that solution, the tape began automatically rewinding. Then I ejected it, and after that, it only plays for less than a minute, stops and spits out the tape. People dump these things at Goodwill and those who know how to fix them pick them up and do just as this RUclipsr did. They get them working for nothing but the price of a cleanup and grease job, and resell them. So, the cycle begins. Tired of being ripped off with this Chinese crap.
mine wont play the VHS through the hdmi out port, will only play DVD out on hdmi? VHS does play out fine on composite. Cant find anything in settings. Any help?

I've recorded inputs similar to what you're referring to. Not certain but I would think you might need to check what "line" you're bring in the Netflix on in relation to what can be recorded .... running "through" your VCR combo to record. Hope this makes sense.

You need to switch over to the DVD drive from the VHS drive.

The port that you are trying to connect to is probably only used for servicing the TV and nothing else.

It doesn't really matter which disc you use. It really comes down to a difference between the menus. Which are not much different.

The HDMI connection has a label next to it to indicate that it is the HDMI.

The record button is used for recording through the input. The HDMI is the video cable and it goes to your TV.

Hook up your Roku to this unit and then you can record all shorts of neat stuff. All you need is a av to hdmi converter.

I would guess that your tape is damaged. It could have been eaten by a VCR at some point. Does it do it on every tape?

use yellow white red rca cables not hdmi, unconverted it seems to want to out put analog signaling

Does anyone know what type of blank dvd I need to record for a magnavox mwr20v6?
I believe that machine uses +R. You can find all the compatible discs in the manual. The manual can be found on google.

This VCR only does NTSC tapes. It will not work for you. You will need to get a worldwide VCR or one from the same region.

Is this for only recording VHS tapes to DVD? Or can I hook up to a tv and record stuff like Netflix to DVD??
I've recorded inputs similar to what you're referring to. Not certain but I would think you might need to check what "line" you're bring in the Netflix on in relation to what can be recorded .... running "through" your VCR combo to record. Hope this makes sense.
Problem: vhs keeps spitting out tape plays for 7 seconds

I use dvd+r, when i try to dub VHS To DVD, It will dub for about 15 seconds and stop, can anybody help?

Excellent video! I have a problem on another matter. I have a 13 year-old Vizio TV that has a USB port but it won’t work. I hook up my USB cable to my phone and nothing happens. Do you have any idea how to make that work?
The USB port is probably designed for service and diagnostics, it won't do anything else.
