I love S&B I have been using them on my 2017, 2018, 2020 F-450 and zero issues! Clean the filter out with their kit every 5,000 miles. Also for my 2020 using their fuel expansion gas tank!
Had mine for a few years added a filter wrap from S&B after watching potential issues with oil contamination video from cold air intakes, if you can hold the filter up to the sun and see light rays coming through it then dust will enter the oil.
I’ve been putting only Banks performance upgrades on my truck and wow what a difference. Air intake, rear differential cover, and Darringer tuner with idash.
The first mod I did was the S&B on my 2018. Second was Amsoil bypass kit and now running 2 oil filters with rock guard. Third was MishiMoto oil catch can kit. Forth was AFe hot and cold charger pipes. Thanks for the great video!
Have had mine for a long time and it's great. My only complaint is that because of how the scoop is, the front of the filter gets absolutely coated with rocks, bugs and road debris after just a few hundred miles of driving. No big deal, I'll just slap a filter wrap on it. Also you get some nice turbo flutter if you turn on the engine brake and rev it up.
I’m running the same air filters setup on my 2012 F250 6.7 and our 2001 Excursion 7.3. It cleaned the engine bay up a little and allows me to view the filter condition with ease. Awesome products from S&B! Great video on the install!
Just installed one on my 2020 today with this videos help. Was a simple install. Keep the videos coming. Maybe a changing brake pads or putting bigger rotors on a 2020 super duty.
I installed this intake on my 2021 yesterday. Took me 90 minutes because I took my good old time. If I were to install another one I could do it in half the time. I didn’t buy it thinking I’d get better gas mileage or more turbo sound. I just know how restrictive stock air boxes are in general. This is a very well thought out and well made product. Installation was easy. I had no issues. I removed the battery cables as recommended because it’s easy and who needs error codes. I decided to upgrade the cold side intercooler pipe to head off any future failure while towing in the mountains out West. Those are currently back ordered but only about two weeks.
You were putting the cover on the proper way the first time. If you were to put a very thin layer of Vaseline on the bottom part of the rubber it will slide on much easier. Great video like always AROD.
This is absolutely necessary I feel on 17 and 19 due to the cost of those air filters . but 2020 and up the stock assembly looks very good . so maybe not so much
Nice 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I've had mine on my 2017 for 4 years and 40K miles. No issues. I use the dry filter though. I just toss it every 10K. I installed one on my 22, I was hoping for more turbo /intake noise but the 6.7 is just so quiet I didn't notice anything. But I honestly feel it got rid of that tip in throttle lag it had, plus it might have got me a 1/2 mpg increase on the highway.
I have a S&B filter in my 2000 7.3. It is the wet filter and I love the sound it makes when it shifts gears or when you let off the throttle. I liked that one so much that it was the first mor I done to my 15 6.7.
I have one and didn't do the batteries initially. I did act kinda odd so I went back and did the batteries a week later. Made a pretty big difference how I drove afterwards. I have a 21 as well.
Thanks for sharing! Great example of a well-fitted aftermarket system. They obviously spent a fair amount of time tweaking the design to make it easy to install which is always appreciated. I've not seen where a rupturing intercooler pipe is a thing. Anyone actually experience this or is it simply a sales tactic? Thanks.
Legit. Look up 6.7L cold side intercooler tube. It's very common when in high load or boost. If yours is plastic, it's got a couple places to fail. There's many aftermarket options. I went with Dorman....looks stock but made from stainless steel powder coated black and silicone boots. Looks stock
