I am a former Olympic Alternate and NCAA athlete and have deferred my senior year to come back to elite gymnastics and try for a spot on the 2021 Olympic Team. Hi Mykayla, could you do a video about how the olympics being postponed is effecting how you will go back to college because you deferred your senior year. Are they letting you go back after another year? Had you thought about not going to the olympics is they wouldn’t let you wait another year?

100% agree on Velcro grips. Everyone else things I’m nuts. Can’t stand buckle. Holes are too small and sometimes they stab my fingers
10.0 wristbands used to be my jam back when I competed what feels like 100 years ago! I've got super tiny wrists so it was always difficult finding wristbands that weren't too big and slid around my wrist.

Adding to the ask for a favorite leo haul (competition and practice)! And if you're doing any at-home workouts during social distancing, what you're doing! Maybe a video of you guys cooking or a video chat sort of thing with another elite gymnast!
Your hair looks amazing! Also this might be a kind of tmi question, but I've always wondered how gymnasts deal with body hair, especially in NCAA where they compete every week? Also would be interested in what you do yourself to prep for a meet and to care for your body after a meet :)

Love your videos. I live in Phoenix and love having local gymnasts make teams! Could you do a video on how you prep/ tape and chalk your grps and bars? Like how chalky do you like your bars. Also how you put your tape on your foot or injury spots . Really would like an insight on that my daughter is starting to use dowel grips, and she would love a video showing this. 😁

Has the velcro grips every like came off on the bars because I know the other kind felt very secure on me although I totally feel u on the whole adjusting grips after every turn

Adam Binyamin she’s coming back? I heard her thinking about it.
I doubt she will have enough time to train to that level at this point. I also doubt she would feel good about taking that spot from a child who has spent her entire life training for these Olympics. But I'd love to see her come back to competing. Even if not at the elite level, several organizations offer ways for adults of all levels to compete.
@@beautywearsboots6458 they have the challenger cups that she can try. may not be as competition heavy as the regular world or apparatus cups or good for points but it's def elite levels.
I love her videos and she can definitely hit her skills. Full routines and months of practice are a different beast when you're older than 20 haha so idk! But everyone is different. I'm just impressed she can do what she's doing now after kids and everything!
@@beautywearsboots6458 taking the place from a child who has been spending their entire life? That's what everyone does and she has dedicated a large amount of her life too. Maybe it's the child's time next time. She shouldn't feel guilty.
I think it's good and it's proving that gymnastics is not just for children.

Might want to try these for the beam. I remember the ones you have , I used to use them all the time however its a older version of the new " Bear Claw" We called it that when i was in dance. I might sure where you can get the ones you want. I tried researching. I ask my friend Ashley who runs dance studio now maybe she will know and I get back to you....
