✘ Laui -Good point. A respectful, supportive knowledgeable coach is a gem. The stories of emotional and physical abuse to “toughen up” the athletes make me so angry. You get SO much more out of your athletes with positive reinforcement coupled with consistent expectations than with punishments for things done wrong.
Kind of reminds me of how horses do so much better in training with cookies than the whip. Not that gymnasts are horses or should be given cookies. Just that a pleasant rewarding experience will usually get more out of an athlete, just like a horse. IMHO, of course.

@@maureenkelly738 I don't get why punishment or discipline should be needed in gymnastics. In America it's an expensive club sport and completely voluntary. If what coaches are asking is reasonable, you do it to get better. In 11 years there was only 1 thing I didn't do because I felt it was dangerous, but other than that I did what I was told. If the athlete is not behaving, the coach should call their parents and ask them to take their child home. I don't get why abuse is needed.

Suggestion: because you 9 skills and you only need 8. You should try taking out Ray and connecting the Piked Ray with the Pak full. Then you would still be able to do the Maloney, the difficulty would be the same, and it would be a shorter and less exhausting routine for the triple double at the end! The routine would still be a 6.4! Can’t wait to see you compete next year!!!❤️😍So excited you see your hard work and progress on bars put together in competition!

Fascinating video! Very cool to watch. It is worth saying, as a few others have mentioned, that while this would be an extremely high difficulty routine, a few gymnasts are already competing 6.5 d-score routines and they're still working upgrades as well, so it wouldn't literally be the hardest routine in the world.
Also, the hardest possible routine isn't necessarily the smartest routine construction. I personally don't think having 9 D+ skills is worth it. One of the reasons Fan and Derwael and others score so well is that they pack in all the difficulty in as little time as possible, leaving fewer opportunities for deductions on things like cast handstands. I would probably take out the Church or the Weiler or something which would only cost you a tenth in difficulty and would probably be well worth it in avoiding deductions on that skill and leaving you enough energy to land the dismount cleanly. Of course, as your coach said, you can always make those changes later and have this crazy routine as a training goal.
Anyway, I love how transparent you are with your training process! Really interesting and informative for fans to see. Be well!

Eleanor Mayerfeld it won’t benefit her scoring wise but does having 9 D+ skills make it the hardest routine? He didn’t say that it has a routine of the highest difficulty value. Whether it is a smart thing to do, is a different question

Triples always start like that. Will take a lot of energy to throw that at the end of such a packed routine, they know this. It's just cool even watching her train it, whether it's competed or not. Plus she's on two eight inch mats right now which means she gets more cushion on her landing but less time and room in the air.

I hope she can learn it and nail it. She needs it. When it comes to Mykayla I always think of the saying always a bridesmaid, never the bride. She needs an amazing routine and it had to be solid and consistent. I really want to see her make the team. The competition is going to be fierce now that some juniors will qualify. There's a couple that people are really underestimating.

So cool, can’t wait to see the full set put together. ps it’s hard when I already have cc on RUclips and you’ve edited it for cc as well. We get double edits playing.

You can do it. So what if it is the hardest routine in the World You are just that strong and just that talented! Keep talking you up, we need to get you lots more subscribers. Most individuals have no idea the steps it takes to build skills and choreograph a routine. It is fascinating. Love you Myk. Always pulling for you!

I have never been more confused while watching one of your videos. I appreciate your coach explaining everything but I don't know what he was talking about. 😂 I kept thinking of the moves that I've seen at competitions and I learned the names from the commentators like Nastia and Bart. I was trying to envision it in my head. I can assure you I didn't come close to being accurate. Btw. MyKayla NONE of that looked easy. I think it is awesome you are challenging yourself. That shows a lot of good character and its great for everyone to see and get inspired.

This routine would be a 6.5. Nina Derwael won bars gold in 2019 at worlds with a 6.5 and has competed a 6.7. Beckie Downie won silver with a 6.5. Suni won bronze with a 6.4. Beckie and Suni are both playing around with 6.7 routines. This routine would definitely be extremely difficult, but it's untrue to say it's the hardest in the world that anyone's done. Because it's just not.

Stephanie Todd did you count connection points or just difficulty points?

@@emmahelene1774 Both? I'm not sure what you mean by difficulty points. The difficulty score is calculated by adding the values of the 8 hardest elements and the connection value together, which is what I did.

@@mingming9604 A B because it's too dangerous. jk jk. A full in/out is a D. A double double is an F. Following that pattern, a triple double would an H but who knows with the FIG honestly

That’s exactly what I was thinking. Nina and Beckie have extremely high d-scores, and I think Beckie is experimenting with different connections.
