    I remember I used to have a close friend who recommended this game to me, I never really got into it enough to buy it though, but he was completely right about how much of a masterpiece this is... it really reminded me of the LISA saga, but it made me feel a knot in my neck and made the characters feel even more human in a way.
    I can see how they changed the direction of where they were going and it feels different from the first part but I think it fits kinda...? I just think its so painfully clever that Ellie left everything to get revenge and then in the end she gets... nothing.
    but that's just my pleb opinion and this is the only the last of us video I have ever watched.
    Great work dude! I'm glad I watched the full video :)

      I also saw the similarities between this game and LISA back when I first played them. Lol. I think it speaks to how universal the story is and how it makes the characters feel human, just like you say!
      Yeah, for Part 1, they say that the main theme was Love, and for Part 2, the main theme is Hate. I think that's why there's such a drastic difference between the games.
      Happy to hear you enjoyed! Thanks for taking the time to watch the whole thing! I know it isn't easy!

    Hey, that was absolutely tremendous and like rewatching a film of this deep and truly human journey that is TLOU. I loved the little memories and flashback you had set up in there.
    As many as I enjoyed the game, lore story and all, this was very cool to link the dots like this. I feel like I hadn't payed that much attention haha.
    Besides, that's an amazing format and you have a really good voice for these stories, the music is very well placed, the writing is impeccably representing all the lines of the diegesis.

    I'm so glad you covered both stories man. I love them both equally. I kind of switched sides in Part 2. I really like Joel, Ellie, & the people of Jackson, BUT I truly enjoyed The Salt Lake Crew. When Nora, Manny, Owen, & Mel died...I was pissed. I almost forgot Ellie was Ellie 🤣 & I was really ready to get at Tommy after that Manny situation. 😂 I love Tommy character so TLOU does a great job of having you all over the place emotionally. Joel is my dude but the way he went out was what it was. I didn't feel bad about it & he understood he had it coming. Actions have consequences. When I beat the first game I knew if they made a second he'd have to die. I didn't think they'd take him out like that but I wasn't mad at it. TLOU is an ugly world surrounded by beauty.

    Have you considered doing any videos on the NieR series?

    • @SquatchGamingChannel
      @SquatchGamingChannel  2 года назад +2

      I think someone has suggested doing Automata before, but not the whole series. I've never played any of them before, but doesn't Automata have like 6 endings, one of which you can only see after getting all the other ones?

    • @DinoDave150
      @DinoDave150 2 года назад +2

      @@SquatchGamingChannel OK. I'll do my best to explain so you'll have an easier time to plan it out or explain in case you do decide to do it.
      The NieR series is a spin-off of the Drakenguard series, however like most of Yoko Taro's work they can enjoyed on their own merits as individual experiences. You don't have to play the Drakenguard games to understand either NieR games. In fact, despite being a sequel you don't have to play NieR in order to understand Automata. The most you'll miss is some refences and easter eggs here and there.
      In regards to NieR, there are two versions of the game: Gestalt and Replicant. Gestalt is the US version while Replicant is the original Japanese version which received a remaster recently. The only difference between the two is that the titular character was aged up to become an older, grizzled father in Gestalt, while Replicant has them as a teenage older brother. Aside from that they're both basically the same game although the remaster refined the combat, added in a form of fast travel, and a new ending, so I recommend that version. Now I'll tell you right now that NieR is not ypur typical kind of game and despite the improvements done in the remaster, it can be a bit boring since there's a LOT of back and forth. I'd say it's worth it for the unique experience it gives, but if you want to skip it, then that's alright.
      Now for Automata, this is definitely the better game of the two, seeing as it was developed by PlatinumGames, the folks behind Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising, and Vanquish. Structure, pacing, combat, everything is improved for a more enjoyable experience. Now Automata has 26 endings, one for each letter of the alphabet, however only endings A-E are canon. The rest are joke endings. Every time you beat the game and reload your save file, you unlock a new playthrough with a different character to unlock a new ending. Routes C and D are actually one route with the ending you get being determined by a choice you make. After getting ending C or D you unlock chapter select so if you want to skip to the other ending you can do that.
      One last thing. Both games have an ending E, which is the true final ending of the game. In Automata's case the game will ask you if you wish to see it after Endings C/D. But in NieR you must collect every weapon in the game before the end of your 3rd playthrough. And some can be missed during your 1st run, so make sure and do all the sidequests you can. Now, here's the important thing. If you choose to view Ending E in both games, you will _lose all your save data._ No ifs, ands, or buts. Your data will be forever erased if you go for ending E. There's a story reason for it, but still, watch out.
      Really, it's entirely up to you if you want to do these games. They are very niche, but I think they're worth a shot.
