That AOE prospecting trick... Oooooofff. I was just about to start silver mining using landscape signs and blind luck to make the silver hammer and maybe some wolf armour TODAY. I'm just starting the swamps and I hate them, so the first item I made of iron was a pickaxe. Buh bye swamps 😎 U R a ⭐.
Skip silver, just get full on meat and high on stamina mead then raid Fuling villages naked to get flax and start a Plains garden and make padded armor. You’ll never need silver again after progressing more, so don’t even bother with the insane upgrade requirements for armor. The best bow requires silver, but that should be all you’ll ever need.
Most annoying thing? Collecting materials required to upgrade an item, getting back to the workbench, accidentally building a 2nd item instead of upgrading because the menu didn't recognise.
this... I had gone sailing rather early game, managed to lure a serpent into rather shallow waters and after a hundred billion arrows, i killed it until it was dead. got scales and meat and trophy. neat! yay lets make a serpent shield! perf! oh need moar scales for upgrade? aight lets rinse and repeat that whole lure shizzle.......... nice job, done! lets upgra........why I have two shields lvl1? FFFFFFFFUUUUUUU etc...
haha indeed i did that many times at the beginning, i was playing duo, i spent so many mats making doubles xD and i was throwing them at the water my friend found them and said ah there is loot in the water hahaha i am still laughing when i think about it
So, you can skip Eikthir by troll assisted mining (bronze), skip the Elder by chair teleportation (iron), and Bonemass with hammer metal detection (silver)... This means that bosses, and thus - raids can be avoided until you hit the need for dragon tears. Instead of raids - you'll get meat and tails deliveries to your doorstep from Eikthir! Also, here is a tip for efficient mining - to you make the most of a copper node you dig around and below it anyhow... Place your smelter inside the mining pit for rested bonus while mining. Also, might as well make bronze on the spot, to carry 1 third of the mass to the main base
@@giorgossermes9644 the bosses are killed eventually, but only after a well established base, with an earth wall and a moat... The point is - you don't have trolls attacking your base until you are actually ready
you can also easily skip moder and go straight to last boss for science, that would be an interesting run lol the best dps vs yagluth currently is the silver sword anyway followed up by frostner next, blackmetal weapons are kinda useless.. only the sword is ok if ur into swords, porcupine is amazing but not needed either.. and padded armor is overkill imo, upgraded wolf armor is more than enough for a vanilla playtrough, and thats everything moder gives you right? oh and barley flour but you can get some op food without it like serpent meat, serpent stew and sausages, 200+ hp and good stam.. the only skip thats not "legit" tho is the elder, that will be fixed eventually, id never suggest anyone skipping bosses on the first playtroughs but it is interesting trying out shit like this after you beat the game a couple times, i did skipped bonemass and moder once, went straight to yagluth, didnt even thought about the stagbreaker for silver at the time, i usually just dig flat areas on the higher mountains for finding silver without the bone, its pretty straight forward honestly, if i try to dig down like 5 areas id get at least 1-2 silver veins but now with the stagbreaker its even easier lol and i craft the stagbreaker for the swamp crypts anyway, to kill blobs behind the walls, a bit cheesy but super useful specially for permadeath and modded runs(every enemy 2 star)
ok, THESE are the tips and tricks I've been looking for. not dumb things like "makes sure to harvest everything" great video mate thanks for making it, i'll be sure to use these tips for sure :)
Fun tip for playing with friends! If you activate your forsaken power right next to another player, it will give them the same power without using theirs up! (IE if I have Eikthyr and activate it right next to my buddy, now we both will have Eikthyr active, but their power won’t be used up!)
my testing tip: i am now mining the silver in the mountain, and dig a few sites before shipping the ores back to base, normally i will put a chest on each site to store the ores temporary but the drakes always destroy the chests, and found out that if i put a floor piece on top of the chest, the drakes seem not seeing them.
You just solved one of the most annoying factors in the game for me - the boat/dock issue. Subscribed, and thanks! Oh and the AoE ore trick is amazing too!
I did not know you could break those giant stone pillars in the plains for several stacks of stone. I have been sitting for several hours at my afk dwarf farm to get stone so this tip will save me so much time. I am building a castle that is using close to 100,000 stone to make. This is saving me huge time! Thanks!!!!
Just wanted to add, if you're well equipped to deal with the mountains and you want to sequence break to get early silver, I've found that most of the seeds I've used have at least one mountain that has an exposed silver ore vein. It can take some time, but there are some vids out there that can show you some places to look. The Perfect Seed vid from Nizar has an exposed ore vein, I can't remember exactly where but it was pretty close to spawn, if not there's a vid out there that has a seed that has one that's good for around 60 or so ore, the guy even has a map to find it easily. They can show up anywhere on the mountain, but the one I've found were towards the top portion of the mountain, usually around obsidian, ofc, if you have stag breaker and see obsidian it's also not a bad idea to just whack around the area to see if you can find a buried vein. Just wish I thought about the stag breaker method... I wasted like 3 IRL days trying to brute force find some buried silver on a mountain, like, pick axing from one side to the other... after 3 days I was about to give up when I found the fucking exposed ore vein as I was running from a Golem... #FML
Fantastic Ideas! Agree with everyone else, the boat docking build is out of this world! Thank you! Here is a great tip for the Mountain areas. The larger ones with steep cliffs. If you are trying to scale the side without dying from Drakes or Wolves, (Haven't tried this with the stone bastards yet) along the route to the top, use your pick axe and dig into the side of the steep cliff. This will work better if there is a large stone above you as it can become a roof. Make sure to hit the ground just right, and you can create a small shelter that tips upward. If you are having issues, first try to make some of the ground flat with your Hoe. Also, if built correctly, you can even add a firepit to get the warm buff. B/c you are hidden inside the actual mountain, nothing can see you and will lose its aggro. This also works in the BF areas when you see a large rock. Dig underneath it and build a small base with a station. Just make sure to add a firepit and that you are well beneath the ground level. Make sure to add roofing material or stone floor pieces just below ground level, to keep you out of sight. Watch out for variables in flooding as well. Enemies will know you are there, but will not aggro. Just leave some of the stone floor pieces or roofing tiles out of one area, and you will be able to get in and out rather easily. If worried you will be attacked, just add a few of the large stone blocks or log fences around the opening. They may draw attention to your area however. Good quick "Hidey-Hole" when you are in a pinch or it's pissing/snowing out.
There are some (rare) occasions when the pillar just floats. Happened to me when I was trying it out for the 1st time. It might have something to do with the fact that I also picked the terrain around it a few times. Not 100% sure what happened 😅
Wow, some actual tricks/exploits I didn't know! The dock handle one I "invented" myself (I have a boat irl, and it's basically a boat hook in reverse), but it would have never occurred to me to ride a deathsquito, and that chair to get past the crypt door is truly thinking outside the box. Good job!
That last one is sick!! Hahaha! Thanks for that. The dock I made is a mix of three things. Modified terrain, wood and stone. I don't wanna bother setting up foundations with wood or stone while on a raft, cuz that's a headache. So, using modified terrain was the next best thing. Wood and stone was to make the whole thing really look like a dock~ Workbench protects any docked ships from monsters spawning too close. Standing torch deters Greydwarves, but not the Shaman and Brute.
The fact that the game processes the physical interaction of the "boat handle" in a realistic way is bonkers to me. I am constantly surprised and impressed by how well every part of this game is designed.
@millionmanification I've not played in quite some time, but they could have. My boat might have gotten knocked into the drift by a mob too. Who knows.
Noice another youtuber with some nice tips and tricks (exploits will not use incase, not want to get stuck like the swamp key one). Also right to the point and not wasting time. Thank you.
Some nice tips there thanks, didn't know a few of these. Further to your tip on dock handles I once built a dock with a triggered boat launcher, if you put a small wooden shutter (left open facing away from the boat) at the parked end of your boat then close it, the boat will shoot away out of the dock (best to do this while you stand at the rear of your boat otherwise you might have a bit of swimming practice).
my IQ even higher, i binded activate forsaken power to P key, completely safe from being pressed accidentally. I also made "deconstruct item" key X. Bro your video was awesome! Sick tips bro
I knew about the digging under the crypt to get in with ur pick, but the chair thing...whaaaat? 🧐😆 The dock handle trick is cool, didn't know about that, a good idea if you want to depart quickly say, ur dock is attacked by a troll or other damaging nasties.😊👍🏽 That trick with the beehive over the workbench is genius.😲👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I just subbed.😀
Have you covered the portal trick yet, so you only need 1 portal in your base that can go anywhere? Just give each portal on the map a unique name, then when you want to travel there change the name to match, wait for it to connect, then change it back and quickly run through. Then you can travel anywhere from anywhere.
I can see a problem though of if you traveled somewhere after teleporting out of the base but then find one of your other portals, you won't be able to teleport back to base because it's already connected to the last one?
I'll definitely try the beehive trick and the dock! That's an excellent way to park your ship! I have one question: how do you get safely back on the ground from that humongous rock? Oh, I found that if you spawn that particular rock while you're in the water, it will actually spawn ABOVE the water 😂😂 I walked under it after I spawned it there on a test world.
Hey, thanks for watching!
