ewn1980 agreed, the L67 Buick 3.8 supercharged v6 is a fantastic swap. Needs bigger bolts threaded in to hold the flywheel when using a manual transmission, aside from that it’s fairly straight forward from what I understand. We have an L67 in a Chevette. It races once or twice a year in Lemons.
This dude seems like a pretty cool guy. And it seems he had a few more stories to tell there for a minute before he cut himself off to stick with the Lambo stuff. Would like to hear a few more of his tales. Great video man, and there's nothing wrong with a Lambo kit car; most of the fun is the journey, not the destination... 👍

There is a guy who goes to local shows who has a kit car with a real countach body that was in Germany so the body and interior are real but it has been customized with corvette parts and a reversed Porsche trans and a LS it is a pretty Impressive build ngl

@@austin2702 i think that too he dosent like lambo people he just likes the cars but could never afford them thats what he told me he had to use a lot of loopholes cause it was a totaled junk euro spec countach that he bought in the 80s so he combined it with his corvette its almost 100% mechanically corvette even the frame is a modified gm frame and suspension everything gm except the trans so i believed he had it titled as a corvette , its a beautiful car thought its red with tan interior
I beleive there is a kit to put an LS in a fiero chassis too.
Theres a lot of short people out there that would LOVE to have their dashboards extended 3 feet. Imagine how much longer that would make the dash on a minivan.
im 6 foot 6 and learnt to drive in a mini my knees were bruised after 2 lessons. so my problem is the opposite

When I was younger, I didn't respect a kit car, as I've gotten older, I've learned to appreciate them. For starters there's things you can do with a kit, you would never do with the real deal.
When I was young (now 60), most kit-cars were quite horrible, but they've improved immensely over the years!
One such kit-car is a Lancia Stratos that is extremely close to the original, but along with it still being too pricey for my wallet, like the original rally-winning car I 'm still not short or flexible enough to squeeze myself into it's tight cabin!

The Countach is my absolute favorite sports car. Its style is just amazing and I love the idea of a car that looks just like it but doesn't cost nearly as much to maintain. Thanks for sharing!
It makes more economical sense to have a replica than an authentic Lamborghini Countach. The replicas with accurate chassis and components are likely significantly more reliable and possibly have better fit and finish than factory original cars. Also, newer V8 or V12 engines can make more power and require less maintenance.

Thanks for being honest. Nothing wrong with Replicas. What really matters is how it makes you feel overall. If you have fun and take pride in owning it. That’s the best part about owning a non daily driver.

We have a Diablo locally. The car was stolen, the car was recovered but the motor wasn't. Its now powered by a turboed ls3.

Use a Pontiac gtp super charged six cylinder it’s a very common swap and it will fly down the road it’s a 3.8 ltr and you can see many examples on RUclips on how to do it.

I prefer the 79-86 model years. The vents and aero package on the 87 cars was a bit much for me. Lol

I’ve been thinking about getting a fiero pulling out the 3800 6cyl in it, then replacing it with a more modern super charged 3800 6cyl that came in a ton of GM cars in the early 2000’s. Had a Buick Regal GSE it scooted right along with that supercharged set up. I can only imagine what it would do in a Fiero being half the weight and better handling in the twisties.
Fiero never received a 3.8 from the factory, they were all 4cyl or 2.8

This is why you need a new Prova, even the chassis is a replica of the countach one.
Parts cost on Countach is astronomical, but the maintenance costs are not. Countach are known for being bulletproof vehicles, that rarely ever have any mechanical issues, or ever breakdown. Many people daily Drive their Countach to this day.

Not going to lie, I used to hate on kit cars. But it is cool seeing the engineering challenges you have to deal with when you are replicating a car. Reminds me of what Casey at Genius Garage is doing with the lykan hypersport.

I think the only two accepted replicas in the car world are Shelby Cobra’s and GT500 Eleanors...and that’s it.

Due to that suspension, and a bulletproof V6 engine, the Fiero GT models are still, to this day, one of the best platforms you can build a custom, or replica Supercar on.

Fiero was a good car with poor execution. Parts bin vehicles have a 50/50 chance of being decent. Last gen fiero was almost a complete car.

I've seen a Countach built with all reproduction parts, and it costs upwards of $200,000. You are better off biting the bullet and getting a real one, that has been properly sorted, and have far less mechanical issues in the future. The $200,000 cost of building a component replica, plus the amount of issues you're going to have with a replica that was not built by Lamborghini, in the long run will cost you more than the $375,000 that you can find an actual Countach, that needs some work.
He likes it and that's all that matters. Cool guy.

I like the Idea of Old/classic supercar replica with a newer engine, cause if you are modifying old car some people will mad at you + the value of the car will deprecate A lot.

Fierros do have excellent suspensions, it was one of the first four-wheel fully independent suspension in a production vehicle, that performed on par with Exotics that cost three times as much.
