Super video,Pete. The red tailed hawk is gorgeous, we have them around our neighbourhood along with Cooper’s hawks. Nice that Jet and Woody both got a rabbit. :)
@@freebirdofreason1994 It is very cool to see them in the wild. The Coopers Hawk is very ballsy lol and will dive into the bushes looking for small birds. Or the evergreen trees we have, the little birds like them for shelter and the hawk knows it. I was really pleased for Woody getting that rabbit. Have a good weekend, Pete.
Enjoyed the video shame about missing jets flight iwould like to see a red tail in action. Woody looks like he's coming back to fitness nicely after his moult great flight woody I know my max will give me just as much enjoyment this first season 👍👍

Mike George's previous owner came to visit George and I this weekend. George caught a rabbit which my sister put in the pot. My ferrets and George didn't need it as they had squirrel to keep them well fed.I look forward to my next watch of your video later this evening. Thank you.@@freebirdofreason1994
@@freebirdofreason1994 Couple of frosty days will hopefully sort that out. Yeah, you remember correctly 👍 Offshore at the moment, another week to go & then home time ☺️ My friend had a couple of this years Harris Hawks just getting going for the season, so will hopefully get out with them when home.
In Red-tails, the eastern subspecies are often lighter on the belly with a bit more mottling on the back, and a noticeable belly band. It has a pale morph called a Krider’s hawk, which is very lightly coloured, and the tail is more light salmon than red. Western subspecies are variable, some resemble eastern birds, whilst others can be more rufous. The Harlan’s subspecies of Alaska, Yukon and northern BC is very dark, and the tail is dark brown rather than red. It has a light morph that is dark above and pale below. The bird is common in Mexico and parts of Central America, where birds are often reddish below and dark above, an is also present over a lot of the Caribbean, as indicated by its species name - jamaicensis.
