Fun little bit of trivia, the Ex Wife actually worked perfectly. It was supposed to be a big weapon for long range, and had a "kinetic killswitch," which would prevent it from detonating if it didn't travel far enough.
Edit to change: I misremembered the details. It's not a "kinetic killswitch" it's a "kinetic-kill" weapon. Meaning it uses high velocity to deal damage, rather than an explosive warhead. It still would need to travel a far distance and build up speed to be effective, hence the secondary burst.

It's not a "kinetic killswitch" it's a "kinetic-kill," also called "hit-to-kill," which is a weapon designed to use the high velocity of the impact to do damage without use of an explosive warhead. It needs distance to ramp up and activate its secondary burst in order to be effective. One is actually used successfully to knock War Machine out of the sky in the Iron Man 3 prelude comic.

Vanko says that he can make the drones "Make salute." He's using doublespeak there: the Russian word for "fireworks" is 'salut" (pronounced "saylut"). Hence, he was saying he could make the drones "make fireworks"...which he did, in numerous ways.
And yes, coagulating is a word that fits, albeit in a very strained way. It would be like if you said a car speeding up was "expediting." The word you were probably looking for is "converging."
Someone said watch Mickey Rourke in "The Wrestler" I would agree. It's an emotional watch, but it's worth checking out. Keep "The Wrestler" in mind for future viewing.

His father discovered a new element that would be more powerful than the arc reactor, he just didn't have the ability to create it in his own time period but Tony was able to with his modern tech, he didn't know Tony would need it for a cure but it was still an incredible discovery

Everyone that loves Iron Man today is almost exclusively because of RDJ. In the comics, he is rather unlikable. That was even Stan Lee's aim when he created him. It wasn't until after the movies popularity that the comics copied the movie style.

Iron Man 1 is one of the all-time greats, in my book. certainly in my top 5 Marvel movies. (It was really the movie that LAUNCHED the entire MCU; there IS no MCU without IM1 doing as well as it did....) It's a shame that we didn't get to see your reaction to it. but this is good too.

I've seen all the MCU movies before, but haven't watched them in a while and certainly not in order, so this is a great way for me to refresh my memory AND enjoy them "with" you! And yup, they all have post-credits scenes...sometimes TWO!

Some of the MCU films have multiple after credits scenes, so make sure you don't skip any of them.
Don't forget to check for mid credits and after credits scenes. They tend to set up other films or are just plain fun.

I love this movie for a few reasons: the jokes (one of my favorites being about fighting the Hammer Drones), Rhodey suiting up as War Machine for the first time, the 3rd arc reactor keeping Tony breathing and Scarlett Johansson's first appearance/fight scenes as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow.

My favorite Iron Man movie. Mickey Rourke was a perfect bad guy and the lightning whips were spectacular. A couple movies of his I would recommend is *The Wrestler* and *Bar Fly*.
I always like Mickey but man these two movies are just so real
Sam Rockwell is my favorite actor. Mr. Right is amazing if you want an action rom-com. Moon, if you want a solid sci-fi. Blue Iguana for a fun heist movie. The list goes on and on and on.....

I LOVE that Rhodey's suit is able to engage targets in 3 directions. Seeing the mingun cover his rear arc independently is just glorious.
to clarify,
his father didn't knew about his medical condition..his father designed a renewable sustainable energy source..that happened to be the one he needs to power up the reactor
in his chest..and avoid dying..so even Tony didnt have the chest condition, eventually, he will create an energy source for the planet..

I watched this twice last night. My brain would not stop …which is why I was watching your channel….and I restarted. Today I realize I still don’t remember a g-dmn thing. I didn’t even hit the like. Button! It wan’t the high, it was the anxiety. I was going to have to fight with somebody, and I kept running through “what if’s” in my head. I remember a ridiculously little from watching this twice.

Sam Rockwell was once in the lead to play Tony Stark but they ended up going with RDJ after successful test shoots, They brought Sam back in to play Justin Hammer a rival and villian to Stark/Iron Man.
*That* is Black Widow, and *THAT* is a hurricanrana, also known as a Frankensteiner, named by its inventor, Scott Steiner. You may know him from WCW or TNA wrestling. He came from a highly-educated university! :D :D :D

Fun fact Marvel comics used Samuel Jackson as the character Nick Fury without his permission but didn't know Samuel Jackson is a comic book fan. When he found out was before the first Iron man movie so Marvel was going to reach out to him about the MCU character anyway, Samuel Jackson instead of suing them for the comic book had them make a contract for him to be in the most marve movies of any actor
