    Thank you for this comparison. It helped me decide that I don't really need an impact drill for the type of work I do.

    Good review, I’ve got the DTD153 and agree, it’s a beast and you need to be carful on lighter fasteners. Works well for wheel nuts.

      Yes, everyone I've spoken to agrees, they all would like the next model up with the different speeds. It's worth the extra cost if it's something you use a lot

      I know you can get foam you can cut to do this but when the inlays cost a £1 it does make you think there could be a few more options. I really think Makita need to up their game on their cases, Milwaukee are pulling wheelies in this area

    DTD152 cheapest 18v Makita cordless impact driver, but DTD153 is a beast. Currently 129.00pounds in Screwfix but do your research just got one online for 66pounds delivered! Bargain 👍 As for storage boxes I much prefer DeWalt Tstak but re-sticker them with what brands are in the boxes, vinyl stickers always available on ebay 😉✌️

      Little research on my part, just saw something at a good price and went for it. I'm still trying out boxes, currently trying lboxx

    You're comparing the (brushless) DTD153 with the (brushed) TD110 - a much better comparison would be with the ( brushless) TD111. Comparing the TD110 with the TD111, the brushless model is approx 20% more powerful, 10% lighter, has the same much shorter body that all the brushless tools have, and has the multiple impact modes including slow start.
    I'm lucky in that I bought into the CXT tools when the brushless models were available. It would be hard to justify upgrading from brushed to brushless, but when buying for the first time, the price premium is low. I have the impact driver, the drill and the driver - 3 awesome tools which do everything I need other than heavy masonry work, at which point the mains SDS comes out to play.
    Also, without the inlays, you can fit two of the brushless tools with batteries, plus spare battery, charger, box of bits/screws, driving bits, and a few hand tools all in the slimmest Makpac case - a fabulous small kit.

      Great comment, thanks. Yes I'd like or to compare the brushles to the brushed but like you say it's a bit of a jump to buy all the same tools again. That being said I'm sure over time I'll manage it. I've been through a load of the previous gen Makita impacts, they just get so much use

      @@bodgeitwithbrian I'm wondering if you are interested in comparing driver bits drill with normal drill. Other channels talked about the theory but you still see these products around and I'm curious about their actual applicability.

  • @natiphotoshop
    @natiphotoshop Год назад

    Wow that is so true. I also bought the 153 and it is too strong for me!
    I can't work with it on simple wood, it just drills too fast.
    Is there a solution to this or do I have no choice and will have to replace the tool?

    • @bodgeitwithbrian
      @bodgeitwithbrian  Год назад

      I've now been using mine for a bit and to some extent you get used to its power. The alternative in the lxt range is to get the top of the range which you can adjust for different jobs. I think the issue is there is no real labeling or description for what these tools were designed to be used for. There are several impact drivers in the range all with different speeds and power. They should have a description which says what jobs they are aimed for. What does anyone else think?
