I've never used obd11, so nit sure if it has rhr capabilities to code what you need. Done think you can just swap models. At least I've never done it. Try it and let me know.
Bring drille battery on junkyard ..cut red and gray wire connect to battery and you can move seats easy .. I just did it today b8 seats to b6 frome junkyard

I have heard that splicing the airbag connector can introduce resistance in the circuit, potentially causing an issue. I have never seen empirical data showing this, and despite this, I still took a safe approach.

So I followed your wiring diagram to install S5 seats into a B7. Everything seams to work except moving front to back. I’ve only attempted the passenger seat at the moment. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, heat, power and lumbar support all work. I cannot comment on the S-line seat pin outs, but if I was a betting man, I would say that they are identical.

I found all the information from scouring the fourms for hours... I managed to put together a quick excel spread sheet based on information I found. I could not locate wiring diagrams, which would have been the preferred option. There must be someone out there that has performed a B9 to B8.
After a bit of digging around, the B9 seats look to fit the B8 chasis, which means they would fit the B6! But does not sounds like anyone can get the massaging, heat, lumbar support to work. Power to move them appears to be easy to make work.
@@PBGarage yeah i saw one post of a guy who did it. Same problems. He was nice enough to say he found the wiring diagram. But said it wasnt much use and didnt link it. Said it was alot of trial and error 😒😂😂
@PB Garage, I have a B8 which has manual seats. I’ve managed to find B9 seats which are also manual. I noticed that the B8 has 3 plugs and the B9 has 2. Do you think they’ll be plug and play or will I have issues?
Hey buddy! I'm retrofitting some leather heated sline seats, into my audi a4 sline. I'm not intending to wire in the heated seats, so I was hoping it'd be plug and play, unfortunately the leather seats do not have the black connector, instead they only have the green, do you know if I can repin it to work? 😅
@@PBGarage Managed to get them in, a few minor issues, the plug issue just left me with a passenger occupancy sensor issue which was easily coded out. 😊
The memory seat is not retained. Not quite possible without significant more research on how both modules work, since the B6/7 module is in the CCM under the carpet. Its been a while, but I think the omitted wires are for the module specifically. But I cannot be 100% certain.
quick question i sold my b7 a4 seats now i have a b8 s4 parts car that i wanted to take those seats and put in my b7 while i source some stock b7 a4 seats for my b7 car. if i where to take my b8 s4 seats out of that car bolt them up without connecting any connectors just to use in the meantime until i source some interior for my b7 would i have any issues? i'm not worried about any airbag lights on my dash or anything so long as i have seats to drive the car while i try to find interior for it. my main concern is will it trigger the car to deploy an airbag or anything like that being the car will read as if i dont have seats in it. Might be a stupid question but i've never worked on any cars before so sorry in advance lol
Do you notice the seating position being any lower than before? Interested in doing this in my B6 purely for what I know to be a lower position in my B8.5 Allroad, but don’t know if that will translate in the B6 chassis. Thoughts?
PB Garage Interesting, it’s gotta be the steering wheel position in the B8 then. I sit so nice and low! Don’t think I’ll waste my time doing the B8 seats, albeit super attractive in there. Thanks again!
@@juriaronija2550 The S5 coupes do not have the provision as a the S4 or sedans do. I've read of guys doing some DIYs to add the belt pin, which is fuzzy on details, but a 10.9 bolt with a two nuts onto a rail would be sufficient.
In my install, my car had heated seats so its simply making the connections like in the video. If your B6 does not have heated seats, then you need to wire in a power source from behind your dash, under your carpet and to the connector in the floor. Nothing is "roughed-in" per se.
Idk what kind of awful soldering iron you have, must be like 5w or something? Even a 10w or so soldering iron should be able to solder those power wires lol. Some of those connectors look identical but I'm guessing there are some sort of small differences.
haha its something from Canadian Tire/Fischer price equivalent. I clearly need to step up my soldering game, since Im still using a lighter on the heat shrink!
And yes, the terminal pins have various small differences. I would have loved to simply re-pin over soldering any day. I mention it at 1:47 that the pins do not match.

I did NOT have to do that. The B8 has a bladder. My B7 seats has one as well, so no need to swap anything. Region has a play in this too. B7 American cars need a bladder. B7 canadian cars do not. B6s also never came with them. So if you have a B6 S4 seat going into a B7 american, you need to add one. Hopefully that helps.
@@RZAtomic Then it sounds like you should be able to leave the bladder alone in the b8 seat. That is essentially what i did, but into a b7A4 canadian. bladder left un touched.

@@RZAtomic Still have it, they are quite nice seats, I do prefer B6/B7 S4 seats, but these B8s look a lot nicer for sure. I find they ride a little high compared to the B6/7 S4, but they are still quite comfy. Keep use posted on how it goes!

Am try to get some s5 seats form jurnk yard but cant get to the bolts how can i move it to get to the bolts. What wire with 18v battery

Yes, if you are transferring less features then its less wiring to do! it will never be plug and play though.

Soon, no, but eventually yes. Focusing on the 2.7 build for it first, then will do the rears.

By leaving it disconnected it will not cause anything to happen, other than a light on the dash.
