It's actually a lot simpler than that, I did mine just this past fall. On the B6/7 platform, and maybe others, the front subframe position is actually how you align your wheels so I'd avoid removing those bolts unless you plan on getting an alignment. I loosed up my snub mount pocket, then undid the nut on the top & bottom of one mount. Lifted the engine with a hoist (could use a jack and a piece of wood from underneath) and pulled the mount out and inserted the new one. Lower the engine, tighten the nuts on the new mount, and loosen them on the other mount. Lift the engine again, remove the old mount, install the new one, and torque it all to spec. Took me less than 30 minutes to do the first time. The top nut on the passenger side (under the turbo) is tricky, but it is accessible from underneath and behind the mount. Also be careful not to lift the engine too high or you could hit the firewall and break stuff.
Hello there, are you confident on that method? That way engine has to be lifted at least 10 cm right? Seems risky to me as that way you're sort of "rotating" engine around longitudinal axis passing thru "other side" mount and transmission mount. Asking cause i am in due to replace mounts on my b6, was underneath it few days ago and figured i'll do it exactly as depicted in this video (before watching it, went on YT to get perhaps better idea). Yours sounds very tempting as in requiring fewer steps :)
coming back to this comment from last year when I read it. I was doing a head gasket today and while the head was off I did this, lifted the block with a jack and just slid the old mounts out and the new mounts in, I'm not sure how much space you have with the head you just need to maneuver the body a block a bit as mine tend to climb more to the left (facing the engine) it was easy peasy and I didnt have to realign the subframe like the way alot of people dont seem to do when they change the mounts from the bottom.
I was able to get at that top nut on the passenger side from the top with a stubby racheting box end. Barely enough room beside the turbo to get a couple fingers on it but it worked. Loosened subframe bolts without removing completely and lifted the engine slightly as opposed to dropping it to get the mounts out. Forgot to check the locating pin position on one side before I removed the old mount and had to guess where it goes. Still paranoid I got it wrong 6 months later.
A 13mm distributor wrench gets that right-hand upper engine mount nut without having to lower the engine. Even on the turbo model. Get that nut from the top side! I also found a deep socket with the exact outside diameter as the alignment hole that I used to go up thru the three layers of metal to hold everything in alignment while tightening those bolts. Remove the torque mount from the front of the engine before starting this. If your hydraulic mounts are shot, then it's a certainty that the torque rod doughnut needs replacing also.
It would have been nice to see that locator nub orientation after the mounts were slipped in. There's more than one hole for it, and to see which it goes in correctly would be nice.
Manual states removal of turbocharger for passenger side quote 5 hr of labor .. also u can use factory wheels lug wrench handle to insert in subframe bracket locator holes on the frame and bracket to line up subframe on install
Snap and I av2 do all upper n lower alloy arms aswell, not a job I want2 tackle, but needs must🤬unless I win the euro, then sed car will b for sale as is or recycled 👍🙏
Salutare! Ce modul bluetooth se poate monta pe navigația asta? Sunt ceva module pe eBay cu doar 30€ dar văd ca sunt niște mufe mici față de cele ce sunt în spatele navigației .
Audi A 3 2007 auto 2lit D DT diesel engin mount, please send me the link. If I replace the fly wheel, do I have to replace the auto gear box and torque tube. As a woman, its very complicated dealing with mechanics
Aftermarket motor mounts or OEM? Regardless, it looks to be a pain in the @$$ for sure and I thought the MK7 GTI’s motor and transmission mounts were hard. 😅
Can some one point me in the right direction for the 2 mounts on mine . Its a audi a4 b7 19 tdi 5 speed 56 plate thanks . They look the same as the ones in the video but not sure thanks
Help! I’m having this annoying noise with my Audi A6 c7 2.0 ... I have this wind noise coming from the front end while i drive at low speed. Help a brother out !
check your pressure control valve. those are common to have to replace on 2.0t's. takes 15 minutes or less though. and makes a noticeable difference if it was already long overdue for replacement like it was for me.
Passenger side is a fcker. I cut my 13mm to 1.5" long, so i can get the bolt off by the top. It will allow you to move the 13mm bit by bit and get the nut out. Same process to put it back, use lockthread since you wont be able to torque it like oem spec
What about sensor you dont have the sensor on yours new mounts what sbout sensors why you dont tell something how to change or its possible to install without sensor, WHY you didnt answer the question?
One of the mounting has a sensor attached to it. On reolacing I was told that I can replace it with on without the sensor, as it would be half of the price. What is that sensor? I disconnected it and nothing happened. No warning light nothing. Will it be ok to replace it with the one without sensor?
Wtf Audi create obstructions is beyond belief, not for the faint hearted or DIY mechanic ,how ever I just took sed mountain out using a jack for clearance 10 min job,how ever,(yep stripping1 and putting it back in reverse is a total different ball game🤕I AV also got to replace full upper n lower alloy arms🤬🤬🤬and the 16 stretch bolts always snap,🤬🤬oh and 150£+for items, not a job I'm relishing,IL need luck patients, and a log to chew on thru gritted teeth🧐🤕I AV the log 🙄😂😂💪

Thank you! Will attempt your method this weekend seems a lot more reasonable than what was done here

@@enwavs please let me know which method did you use. I'm probably going to do mines around spring/summer
HI. Did you use genuine or aftermarket Mounts?
coming back to this comment from last year when I read it. Can you help with this in more detail
+1 on 13mm stubby ratcheting wrench saving the day 🔧

Where are these alignment hole's this is the first I've heard of it.

What's that now?
Nothing you can’t comprehend if your an technician
It is advisable to use the VAG VAS 3393 alignment tool to align the two brackets.
Have to do this soon..and this confirms my feeling of dread 😮💨
Snap and I av2 do all upper n lower alloy arms aswell, not a job I want2 tackle, but needs must🤬unless I win the euro, then sed car will b for sale as is or recycled 👍🙏
Great Video, thanks for posting it.. I think I'll pay to have this done, that passenger side looks like a "3 Wrenches Thrown" Job to me! No Bueno!
Very nice and professional! I would've sworn quite a lot more doing this ;)
More professional would be to align the subframe with the correct dowels.
Wow, that's something I'm never, ever going to ever do, whatsoever. Ever.
It's actually not that big of a job; much easier than depicted here. Read my other comment on using a distributor wrench.
Nice Video. One question. On a 1.8T engine: the left and right mount, do they have the same Partnumber or are they Different type of mount? Thx
30 min, work for me nice video have a nice day
A lot of b7 stuff is so good ty!

I love the Polka music!
13mm stubby ratcheting wrench is the key to the passenger side mount 🔧
Hi what symptoms will a bad transmission mount cause 6 speed manual thanks
Is this the same on an A6 C6 2 litre tdi with a BRE engine?
Can you make a video a talk about on that Turbo breather pipe versus pcv valve , it's very important for me
I would be scared off from this job, but i recently did a steering box replacement on a 72 ford torino while on my back. i think im warmed up haha

Dude just bought some and was like what's the best way to do it
B7 b7 b7 yay! A lot of b7 stuff,ty
Aftermarket motor mounts or OEM? Regardless, it looks to be a pain in the @$$ for sure and I thought the MK7 GTI’s motor and transmission mounts were hard. 😅
VW engine mounts are easy
Can you make a video on replacing or resealing the valve cover? I’m having oil leak in spark plug hole
There are a few videos others have made for replacing valve cover gaskets and these are very easy to do when you are careful
Very good
10:07 Do someone have a part code or something I can use to search that particular front mount?
I don't have a garage at home like you unfortunately... i have to go under the car without all this material !!!!
This job should really be done one side at the time and/or using the subframe alignment pins.
Can some one point me in the right direction for the 2 mounts on mine . Its a audi a4 b7 19 tdi 5 speed 56 plate thanks . They look the same as the ones in the video but not sure thanks
Call the parts department at an Audi dealer and give them your VIN, they should be able to get you the correct part number.
Help! I’m having this annoying noise with my Audi A6 c7 2.0 ... I have this wind noise coming from the front end while i drive at low speed. Help a brother out !
Bro you expect youtube to tell you whats going on lol... take it to a vw or audi shop.
Ivan Giraldo bro you’d be surprised! But I have a recall appointment in the next 2 weeks . The sound is annoying .
@@localurban3555 Lol get it checked out by someone that knows. don't ever take your audi to a cheap place.

You don't have to do the subframe. Just do the front mount and lift the engine a bit.
that is why dealer cost 5H x 100$
how Adjust Parking Brake audi a4 b7?
I'll just live with the engine rattle.
Mounting can cause engine rattling? 🙆♂️, a friend of mine has a rattling sound from the engine and we can't figure out where it's coming from.
What about sensor you dont have the sensor on yours new mounts what sbout sensors why you dont tell something how to change or its possible to install without sensor, WHY you didnt answer the question?
Re-using those bolts huh?
They are to be replaced as the torque specs are torque to yield.
Yo los cambie a mi b6 y no desmonte nada de todo eso solo el soporte centrar y levantar con un gato ya salen
Scared me!
No alignment needed
Don't really look much like b8 mounts. They do look somewhat similar in style to BMW engine mounts
First! Great job on the videos and content guys, topNotch!
