Few things to help people 1. Perfect tiles can get the 60 point even if they aren't the tile being played. So you can work to make tiles perfect by surrounding them once placed with matching boarders. Once perfect they grant 60 points. 2. Perfect tiles, grant 1 tile to the stack. Very important for high score chasing as its 60 points and a free tile. 3. The hardest quest doesn't require your last tile to close it, you just get the extra tiles when it is closed. So you can play the last house, then use future tiles to close the feature. Also I believe, though don't have the game open right now to test, you get points for both the number of houses and for the flag it leaves to close the feature. So harder quests but twice as rewarding in terms of tiles and points. Bonus: The game only gives so many quests at a time, if one looks like it will take too long to finish. Intentionally fail it to get a new quest, leaving large unfinished quests in play is a quick trip to a game over.
There is a bit I noticed differently about the game then you explained in this video, the triangular flag on the third mission option is split in two, you have to hit the first part with the number and then you have a second objective to close the area off. And it helps to keep areas small and close them off as quickly as possible (after the objective in it is cleared) because missions are connected to the size of your open areas. If you for example build one gigantic Forrest, you're more likely to get high number missions. If you have multiple small ones you don't get big missions. And you get points for closing areas off no matter how big they are its the same amount of points so better get those points multiple times. But thanks for the good tutorial.
This actually explained so many of the quests I was confused by. Thank you. I just started playing this game a couple days ago because it seemed relaxing.
Hi great vid; I found the tutorial within the game itself to be a bit superficial, and what you did here was to review the in-game tutorial and go deeper and add some pointers as well, such as 10-points per edge of tile which matches. Thanks!!
got this for steam deck and it amazing on it ! thanks for tips :) ive noticed tho that the video is from last year and that being said now in game the boarders light up nicely when they fit the previous one :)
Flags - you can "close" the cluster later than the piece which gives you the "count" score. The flag shows on the cluster until you score it. But I don't know if you get more points for finishing the count AND closing it with the same tile.
Thank you very much, your video has been very helpful. I just bought the game and its tutorial is very poor in details, it doesn't clarify the meaning of the mission symbols.
You are wrong about the quests where you have to close areas up. When you finish a quest with a little flag in the quest symbole you will get the quest to finish the area but you can still add tiles to it and even start new quests in it and close the area later.
Thanks for the explanation! Impulse bought this and played yesterday but I must have missed the part of the tutorial where they go over the different quest types, was super confusing why some quests were easy to clear and others kept giving me red X's
I'd like to learn more about those flag quests: how does that work with closing of an area? Also I noticed in my game playing that sometimes the edges of tiles glow up red, yellow or blue when trying out where to put your next tile. Do you know what that means?
Those colours on the edge of the tiles show where you can build something adjacent to it (yellow = farms, red = houses, green = forests, water = blue, tracks = brown). If you hover over the flag you can see where the tiles of that respective tile type are not closed off yet. Say that you want to close the farmland off, either place an entirely different tile there, or rotate a farm tile so that the outer edge is not farmland.
Railroads and rivers cannot placed them except in contact with like tiles (2:39)? That's not correct at all. I do it all the time, since I know that eventually, I'll likely receive the pieces I need to connect them.
The little pop up window dissolves either into a green checkmark or into a red X, depending on success or not. You finish them by placing enough of the desired extra tiles right next to it's neighbours.
Well that confirms it for me then. This is no longer a game I'm interested in. I thought it was more of a build your landscape however you want type of game, but now I know you can lose if you do that.

Thanks for all these additions!
Very nice tips.
THANK YOU!
I realize I am kinda randomly asking but does anyone know a good place to stream new tv shows online?
The bonus tip might be the most important one, thank you!

And thank you for those helpful additions!
This is so helpful- thank you! Just started playing last night and this explained things way better than the in game tutorial.
You are most welcome and thank you so much for your positive feedback =)
The in game tutorial doesn't really go in-depth, does it?
This actually explained so many of the quests I was confused by. Thank you. I just started playing this game a couple days ago because it seemed relaxing.
Thank you so much! I just got this game and was a little confused at the mechanics, so you've helped tremendously!

I've been playing this a ton and still learned stuff from your video. I want to add a comment about how amazing the soundtrack is, as well. Thanks!!!

You get extra tiles when you close the flag - I recently discovered this. So it's one reward for finishing the quest and another for closing the field
"There's almost no truth in this game." That is philosophy right there.
Thank you very much, your video has been very helpful. I just bought the game and its tutorial is very poor in details, it doesn't clarify the meaning of the mission symbols.
Just got the game and love it along with the soundtrack. Thanks for the heads up on the game play most helpful. 😎

Hehe, completely expected to see a video like this :P Glad you're enjoying the game!
I have grown predictable haha

Very happy to read that! The game is very chill but can be played competitive too - I really enjoy that!
Thank you for this! I was playing and having fun but had no idea what I was doing haha
You are most welcome! The best part of this game is that you can have no clue whatsoever and still have a ton of fun with it =)
Weird how fun this game is considering what it is. I ACCIDENTALLY played for 2 hours.
I know that feeling. It's a very good sign usually :D
what's about extra quests when you are far enough from the start ?
Ohhhh, those are FIELDS! I always thought of them as stones for some dumb reason.
very nice video, thanks.
This is a super helpful video, thank you!
Thanks, awesome to hear that =)

Well done mate :)
Thanks!
railroads ruin my life 😭
Nice relaxing Game! I just got it at the discounted price on Steam....Subscribed.
I know this is an old video but I appreciate it! The in game tutorial is not terribly helpful.
I'm frankly surprised it still holds up until today ^^
what marks the end of a quest? how do u finish it?
The little pop up window dissolves either into a green checkmark or into a red X, depending on success or not.
You finish them by placing enough of the desired extra tiles right next to it's neighbours.
thank you

There is a Zen mode included which allows exactly the gameplay you look for!
Perfect tiles aren't that difficult to achieve, if you're paying attention to tile placement.
Its more rambling than actual teaching
Poor teacher.
Okay
No, poor listener
