    The ANVIS lightweight binocular offers high reliability and performance and can be mounted to a variety of helmets with a ball-detent mounts. If a dovetail mount or alternate housing is preferred these systems are also easily converted to alternate housing types compatible with ANVIS optics and 10160 tubes. Compatible systems include the MOD-3, Sentinel, and DTNVG-AV.
    These F4949 AN/AVS-9 aviator night vision systems were exchanged by a US federal, state, or local agency, with the factory for brand new systems. Following the exchange program to upgrade US agencies kit, these green thin-filmed AVS-9 were thoroughly inspected by ASU the "Go-to" company for both rotor-wing and fixed-wing aircraft operations and training. Each AVS-9 passed a through inspection for defects, or was refurbished to perfect working order. The AVS-9 has historically allowed pilots to conduct critical night time military and safety operations in a almost every type of aircraft across the globe, and now this same high performance Gen3 technology is available to hunters and night vision enthusiasts at a significant discount.
    These night vision goggles are no longer flight certified, but they have been meticulously maintained according to FAA standards and safety specifications throughout their lifetime and refurbished to like-new working condition if needed. These AN/AVS-9 feature high performance thin-filmed green aviation grade tubes with aviation grade cosmetics at an unbeatable price.

    The big rumor of fragility came from pilots smacking their ANVIS on the canopy and having the unit fall 10+ feet onto the tarmac. Rule of thumb is that if the US Military's premiere tier 1 unit CAG trusted the ANVIS units enough to use them in their combat operations, then they are more than good enough for an airsofter/civilian/etc.
    Another thing people typically forget is that more or less any NVG unit on the market today is not gonna hold up to a 5-10+ foot drop onto a hard surface, being smacked into a door frame, or being face-planted into the ground.
    For pracitcal civilian use and airsofter/larper/etc use, they are probably the most cost-effective binocular NVG solution on the market today.

    • @WheelchairOperator
      @WheelchairOperator 5 лет назад +3

      Contra-kt5 there’s no “big rumor” that ANVIS are fragile because they ARE fragile. Just had a buddy break his ANVIS last week. There’s a reason why they sell up armor kits and companies make ruggedized ground variations. CAG used them because it’s what they had readily available. That’s like saying you should go buy a skate helmet because their ANVIS units were mounted to ProTec helmets. There’s also a reason why DEVGRU guys don’t run ANVIS-10’s but rather GPNVG-18’s. If you’re a civilian with money for binos, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t spend the money on a unit made for ground use.

    • @WheelchairOperator
      @WheelchairOperator 5 лет назад +3

      Contra-kt5 Now, that’s not to say these aren’t “worth the money”. Not trying to divert business from Ultimate Night Vision, but even they say they are known for being fragile and prone to breakage on the bridge, which they are notorious for. They are a great unit for $4,000.

    • @boostav
      @boostav 5 лет назад

      There's a reason why CAG moved to the PVS-23 (ground hardened ANVIS) in the early 2000's.

    i've smacked my NVG's on the 240 in the chinook hundreds of times fitting my head through the left gun window. They're strong you just need to be careful when you wear them. you're not going to be beating a nail with these or anything. they are also suuuper easy to set up. Jealous. if I had the capital I would own a pair.

    • @Military525
      @Military525 5 лет назад +1

      Shannon Mendieta these googles only accept ANVIS specific mounts because of its ball and detent. It cannot be switch to a dovetail, bayonet, ect. You might be able to by ball and detent to dovetail adapter, but then you have to take into consideration the goggle placement on your eyes and how they’ll sit on your helmet or head harness.
