You can find refurbished Anvis-9's with good ITT F9800TG's in them for around $4,500.00. Ultimate Night Vision is still selling them I believe. New, they're too much $ IMO. You can get other goggles with Anvis optics or ball detent but their well north of $4,500 new. I've seen used ones in the $5,000 - $6,000 range
So I have a similar problem with anvis 9. It got dropped and now has a cracked PAS. How did you epoxy glued the PAS? I am afraid that I might damage the internal wiring.
@@NITEWALKER-NIGHTVISION btw, , Team Wendy just got back to me and the proper way to install the shock cord is thru the T-Slots. I kind of found it a little strange the way you had to dremel so i reached out to them to ask how the proper installation is. Anyway, Keep up the great NV videos!
@@oscarbustos6634 LOL, thanks for the info. Where the hell did I get that from I wonder!? I threw away the install guide so can't refer back to it. Yes but it depends on how hard you are on your gear. I've been using the Anvis-9's close to one year now. My wife dropped them early on and broke the bridge (PAS). I fixed it and made my own up armor. No problems since. As long as you don't drop them or slam them into something they are good to go. I use SF mini-carabiners with my bungees that clip over 10mm rings on the Anvis. It hold tension and works as a lanyard. Yes, you can gut it and either use the tubes only or the tubes plus optics in a Sentinel, RNVG, or DTNVG. The Anvis objectives are threaded different than PVS-14 lenses so you have to pick a Anvis specific housing to reuse the lenses. Or sell them and get PVS-14 objectives.
NITEWALKER I’m 50/50 when it comes to putting my gear to work. I’m not afraid to get dirty but don’t want to break my stuff. I do like the rnvg and thought about gutting the anvis 9 and putting it in a rnvg.
I’ve only had it out in light rain and it was fine. Heavy rain I’m not sure. The wiring is exposed inside the PAS but it’s fairly protected unless you stow it. I’m not sure how well the mount handles water.
I used 275 or type 1 paracord (don't remember which). I recently ditched the loops and plastic Team Wendy hooks in favor of small 10mm titanium split rings to work with small carabiners.
