The Way to Oshkosh 2018 Story 2, INSANE Fly-In, Amazing Show and Fly-Out

  • In this series of Niko's Wings parallel episodes, I'm sharing the drama, the excitement and the feelings felt on the way to Oshkosh but also during and after Oshkosh 2018.
On this episode experience the insanity of flying into Oshkosh, trying to stay at 1,300 feet at 90 knots, thing that proved to be next to impossible. Airplanes butting-in left and right and following the NOTAM.
The show in itself was incredible, see more about my friends at GoPro, JustPlaneTint.com, TalosAvionics.com and JMBaircraft.com.
Don't miss the next episode coming up, about the weather, the simulator practice and the lost alternator that caused me to declare an emergency... All coming soon.

I flew into Osh a long time ago for a day trip at the show, it was absolutely bonkers but awesome. I'm convinced the folks running control are professional cat-herders the rest of the year.

That place was CRAZY! Like trying to drive during rush hour on 128/95/1 in Boston, minus the radio help, HAHAHA! 😁 Nice job getting in and out of there. An extra set of eyes must help tremendously, I'd imagine.
I'm definitely going to try to get out there next year. We'll see how things go. A bucket-list item, for sure! So much going on, everywhere at that show!
Really enjoyed this one! Thanks for taking us along. Glad the mechanical issues didn't slow you down too much, and you got there and back safely - that's what counts. Awesome vid as always, Niko!👍👍

    • @NikosWings

It was crazy... looking back, it was all a blur, you focus so much on flying that you barely comprehend the radio calls. That’s where the 2nd pilot comes handy, especially a very experienced flight instructor.

Nice job! I don't if anyone would want to try that the first time as a single pilot! Sure helps to have a second pair of eyes and ears. So much going on.....you guys handled it all really well. Those ATC guys - what a job! I can't even imagine how they deal with the hundred-thousand things happening all at once at Oshkosh. And still stay cool, calm and collected - and super nice! I don't know what they get for all that, but it ain't enough....

Recording or editing into 1080p with a 4k capable device is still a big upgrade over straight 1080p devices. Uploading 4k is a real hassle and i don't think it's that much of an upgrade quality wise. Yes i know technically more pixels but it's also about clarity of the picture.
