The point (and I'm sure Rod would agree) is that we keep returning to that dark place to examine our fears, to learn about ourselves. "Oh great. Nice one, Elliot"
"It was an accident"
"A pizza? Who said you guys could order a pizza? Huh?"
"Uh...him...but"
"in the house"
"you geek man"
"but mom it was real, i swear"
"douchebag Elliot."
LOL
If I am honest, Forest Whittaker did a good job at hosting the 2002 revival, it’s the direction, intro and theme tune that let it down including the script.
The best is still the 2nd version used in the 1st season in my opinion, though I love the reverse blowing of the title card in season 4 and 5.
Love the one from the 80's and it is a bit more unique as they didn't try to have a narrator to compete with the great Rod Serling's narration.
0:43 I know all the words by heart and it will forever be my favorite (but I love any of the ones rod serling did)
Add the 2019 intro when the show goes live
Oh yes 😫 oooo I'm so excited
Yeah!!
Seen the new one and glad they went back to the older theme music.
2019 version of the theme is the only good thing about the cancerous SJW revival.
@@AstroVision93 Ah yes, the SJW version of the twilight zone, a show known for being Apolitical.
Mt all time sci-fi favorite tv show ..thanks mom for introducing me to this show ❤️
Who can't wait for the new twilight zone next year by jordan peele
Not me.
They are remakeing the twilight zone again?
Yes on CBS all access
@@davidtruett3346 i dont know if its going to be good because its going to be overshadowed by the original just like the 80's and 2002 show.
@@thekingofjobbersthekid6356 it could be different because like I said it is hosted by academy award winner Jordan peele
It is very cool that they used Burgess Meredith to do the 1985 voiceover, he was in four total episodes but everybody here probably knows that😉
“Your next stop...The Twilight Zone.”
Its so wild how many of these I've seen before but the original is the best. Serling wrote the pilot version and decided to modify it a bit and do the intro himself because he didnt think others were getting the tone right. He also originally didnt want to be seen on the show at all but im so glad he is. Hes an icon
I immediately recognized the voice in the opening to the movie version. It's Burgess Meredith. You may know him as "The Obsolete Man."
Time Enough At Last, as well?
After Rod died in 1975 they should’ve left this show alone. The original is so perfect there’s no need for anything else.
Yep, reminds me of Star Trek, the harder they tried to improve the original, the worse it got! Weird how it works that way so often; must be some kind of Universal Law, or something!
@@ronschlorff7089 are you kidding me? Star Trek was at its peak in quality in the 90s, especially with TNG and DS9. I love the original series a lot, but other than Kirk, Spock and McCoy there isn’t much to the characters, the sci fi is very hit or miss and would only go on to be improved in The Next Generation where almost every week they would churn out a brilliant sci-fi concept. TOS barely scraped the bottom of the barrel with what the series could do.
@@aleksandarmarkovic221 it's natural to like what you grew up with. TOS had many different alien creatures concepts besides humanoid guys with funny heads like in TNG, DS9, that's all. So tell me, what was the prime mission of the Enterprise? Hmmmm?
Not every original series episode was great, just as not every later series episode was great. The point (and I'm sure Rod would agree) is that we keep returning to that dark place to examine our fears, to learn about ourselves. Rod gave that place its most accurate name, The Twilight Zone, but it is not some sacred series, something to be locked away in our cultural past, untouchable by any who come later and want to tell new stories. No, the Twilight Zone is forever, lurking with us, often just out of sight.
*The OG intro will always remain untouchable.*
Honestly I don’t know why people dislike the 02 one, it’s not amazing but the music at the end of it sounds great and the logo is a good reinvention
It's just a bit corny
twilight zone is awesome and scary.
and very ironic, like seemingly "peaceful and benevolent" aliens taking us away to their planet to...…..Cook us!!!, and a beautiful girl being considered "ugly" by a race of truly hideous appearing humanoids!!
2:36 The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror Pre Show Intro
2:02 My favorite font.
I'm just finding this now. Excellent
It was a nice touch for the 1983 movie to get Burgess Meredith as the narrator.
Although I wasn't a fan of the darker 80's version, I always loved that hazy image of Serling that appears at 4:15+
The 50s Twilight Zone is the best of them all.
Cant beat the best show that ever existed.
Excellent thank you for posting 👍
Went STRAIGHT TO BED when this ended every Friday night
Why do I feel like this is the theme to my life?
Sorry, Bernard Herrmann gave us the Twilight Zone atmosphere like no one else did..0:37 first season opening theme is THE one.
Bruh Rod Serling is SO much better he was the only good narrator and he is the most iconic. He did all the intros after the pilot until the original show ended. The pilot episode has a different narrator...right? It sounds like some constipated old guy so... I'm gonna stop talking before I get too cringey...
@@boopert3589 refer to the timestamp genius
I love the fact that you can see Rod Serling in the eye of the movie opening sequence
Fast forward to your 2022. You officially entered the Twilight Zone!
Took the words out of my mouth.
Huh, you joined one year ago today! Cool!
Adam O Was not aware, nice!
I Love You, Twilight Zone! :-D
The intro copy is gold: _it lies between the pit of men's fears and the sunlight of his knowledge_
2000s Twilight Zone makes this show looks like something it’s not and is such a product of its time
The first original fews were the best. I can't wait for that new one to come out
Brilliant video. Been looking for all the intros. Glad you made this. Saw old series in repeats. The 80s version I saw as kid on tv but did not start here until 1987 when I was 4. The theme sounded so freaky. Did not like the 2002 one.
1985- 1989 Intro was by far the best one!!
This is good I love the quotes
80's one was the best, hands down
The 2002 Intro looks and sounds like a commercial for a Twilight Zone based ride in Great America.
I love Twilight Zone. The original is the best but also the 80's Twilight Zone is the second best
Thank you Mr. BERNARD HERRMANN. HE did such a great job from episode Little Girl Lost. My favorite one from The Twilight Zone (from 976-CREOLEMAN).
