Great video you did an awesome job. I'd love to see a best episodes video on other horror anthology shows like tales from the crypt, are you afraid of the dark, tales from the darkside, etc. Keep up the good work.
Just found this video, as I'm on an 80s Twilight Zone binge right now. Still to this day, A Little Piece and Quiet is my favorite episode of the entire series. Some of the remake episodes such as The After Hours are good and worth a watch also.
The one about the truck driver taking people to Hell also has 2 Star Trek actors. John de Lancie who's best known as Q and the blue eyed guy in the truck near the end, you only see his eyes through the slats as he talks, that's Brent Spiner AKA Lt. Com. Data.
Not to mention the House of the Book, the building in the episode, was also in Star Trek TNG, and is most famous as the original Command Center from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
I absolutely love this 80s version as I was a kid in the 1980s, I’m in the uk so I never understood the war ones about Vietnam. Other good ones I’ve always liked are “The card”, “The library”, “Aqua vita” & “”It’s still a good life”
'Wordplay' was an excellent episode and part of that is the universality of the story, as living in a world where everyone else at first seems to have aphasia would be terrifying-only to find out that you have to relearn the meanings of every word you want to speak and understand. The other factor in the power of the episode is the masterful direction that conveys the sense of one's grasp of communication crumbling away. This and the 'Nightcrawler' are the two episodes of the 1980s series that I shall always remember.
One of my favorites was about time people. If you ever misplaced something and found it in a different place, the time people wete messing with you. My husband and i still talk about the time people. Havent seen it since.
Were they blue people building everything for people to spend a minute in before moving to a replica built bit slightly different? It was called “A Matter of Minutes”
@AlbertMonkey I honestly don't remember. All I remember is people would put something down somewhere, go back and it would be moved. Somewhere they said it was time people who did it. I'll try and find the episode you said. That could be it. Thanks!
I still remember watching it with my brother, and we were shocked by the ending. However, in all fairness, use of "The" implies there is only one , a single shadow man. I recall the 2nd shadow man says he is "a" shadow man. That seems like cheating, going from 'the' to 'a'.
Where was I in the 80s???!!! I watched them ALL in the 60s. I even own a few!! Must have been too busy raising the stepchildren. 😮 I have a few favorites but don't recall the names. Burgess Meredith who just wanted to read. A radio announcement that aliens have landed and invaded. All the inhabitants of a neighborhood start accusing one another of being the aliens. Agnes Moorehead Robert Redford and many others who went on to become stars. The two that I described are worth watching if you've never seen them. Very moving.

I won't argue with your selections in the top 20, however I feel TO SEE THE INVISIBLE MAN and NIGHTCRAWLERS were left out.I am haunted to this day by the ex Viet Nam vet screaming out,"Charlie's in the light!"
Nightcrawlers almost made my list, I even wrote and recorded the segment for it but it ultimately wasn’t top 20 for me. I prefer the other Vietnam episode I included.

Thank you so much! Those would definitely be fun videos to make so I’ll keep those suggestions in mind for sure.
Love this! All these episodes are great and I watched them all more than once. Just like the original!

A Little Peace and Quiet is another great one. I don’t think Wes Craven directed a single bad episode.
@@cultclassicvideodiaries I don't think Wes Craven could! 😊 ❤
Excellent breakdown . I’d have a different order. Nevertheless, loved the attention to detail. Thanks
Interesting note about "Dead Run": John DeLancie and Brent Spiner from Star Trek The Next Generation have roles in the segment
Profile in Silver is one of my favorites. Andy Robinson as JFK and Lane Smith are both great. The twist at the end is awesome.

I wish I knew about the music of Her Pilgrim Soul. Being available for purchase back in the day.
I love this stuff,..every conception, the twilight zone Rocks🤟🤟🤟

Wordplay is a terrific one. I liked that he loved his family enough to begin relearning his language.

Didn't the Grateful Dead do the theme?
@@matttorrence2900 They did. It’s great too.
One of my favourite episodes of this series is The Shadow Man. I always found it to be so damn creepy.

@@Thundarr100 Feels more like an episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark? but it’s still fun!

What is the connection between the 80s TWILIGHT ZONE and STAR TREK?

A spinster is a never married woman of an older age so her mom vould not have been one.
no palladin of the lost hour?!!!!
@@moishe43 Not very memorable to me. The director himself didn’t like the final edit and had his name removed from the episode.
@@cultclassicvideodiaries I wonder why. For me, this is gut wrenchingly sad.
#20 Meg Foster always seemed like an android. She exuded no human warmth.
Im binging the new TZ and its not as good as I remember it being. I prefer Tales From the Darkside.
@@mrsx7944 I like the 80’s TZ but it’s missing that ironic edge the original series had.
@cultclassicvideodiaries I agree. There are a lot of silly/campy type episodes in the new TZ.
Episodes to long. .. only 15 to 20 minutes ...
